Ps. I second what diddly says about you chances of having a successful pregnancy after 2mc. I was told its still around 70-75% I think, so still a very good chance without treatment. Having said that, I found it hard to believe it was just bad luck and now wished I'd done something sooner than 3. It's just so hard as you don't want to be a pessimist but also don't want to go on believing the bad luck line if there is a genuine issue.

Good luck bootles and cat today for your scans. Will be thinking if you.

annie glad your op went ok and you are being looked after.

I watched love island yesterday, basically a house full of twats who think they're the best thing since sliced bread! It is sooo bad! Love your comment about the 'Italian' twins brummie, ha ha ha Grin Although I think I'm warming to the Scouse and Essex (?) couple in a strange sort of way! The only other trashy tv I watch is towie! That mob wives sounds good though, might give it a go. Currently watching prison break box sets with the lovely wentworth Miller in, mmmmm! Although my friend has said she thought he was gay Confused - bummer!! (No pun intended!) Grin

minnie sorry that your friend is pg. it's like a massive punch in the face. When I get EnvySadAngry about these things I always stop and ask myself, but would I want to swap places with them? And every time I think fucking hell no and feel instantly a little better. You will be pg soon. In the meantime enjoy Wine and rant away to us.

Waves to everyone else Smile

Also loving you as a drugs Barron tanny Grin

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/ Here's the link for finding research papers. Remember, the heparin isn't prescribed by Coventry for clotting issues, although it has that effect. Rather, it also has a cytoprotective effect on the trophoblast (the bit that becomes the placenta). That is its purpose in the Coventry protocol. Sebs, I expect if you search on pub med for Brosens, Quenby, or any of the key words of RMC, you'll find something.

Justonemoretime · 10/06/2015 09:12

Also, google this: and molecular signals: an interview with Prof Jan Brosens and Prof Siobhan Quenby. Sorry, can't get actual link to work. Further links to their research are in the text of this article.
Cat and Bootles, good luck today! xx

Justonemoretime · 10/06/2015 09:29

should start 'miscarriage and molecular...' for a Google search...

twilightstruggle · 10/06/2015 09:59

Good luck today Cat and Bootles. Cat - ouch, that's a long wait. Have you got something nice and distracting to do today?

Leah - I'm in Essex too! Colchester to be more specific.

You all have appalling taste in TV! ??
Any GoT fans out there!?

cloudjumper · 10/06/2015 10:01

Good morning ladies!

Just a quick note from me (am at work) - I have just seen that the Miscarriage Association is putting information out about the PRISM trial, which is looking at whether progesterone can prevent miscarriage. I'm sure that this might be of interest to some of us on here! There is more information on their website.

cloudjumper · 10/06/2015 10:05

twilight I'm a massive GoT fan, however, as we don't have cable/satellite/sky, I am not watching the current series. Have read all the books, though, and have all the previous box sets Smile

I'm struggling to find anything to watch on TV at the moment - usually end up watching repeats of Grand Designs... Can't stand the reality TV shows! Loved Poldark, and we have just started to get into Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.

CheesyMash · 10/06/2015 10:05

Thanks cloud will take a peak

Marchgirl · 10/06/2015 10:20

Whatever happened to the promise trial results?!? They were supposed to publish last November!

Jady77 · 10/06/2015 10:34

Good luck for scans today Cat and Bootles.

March is correct Leah, I went to Coventry after 2 mc's and had high results for uNK cells. So glad I went. I did also get referred to rmc with NHS, but they only tested for blood clotting issues and basically told me to get on and try again. For me I don't think I could have tried again without feeling like I was doing something different this time, so even if uNK results had been normal at least I'd have the benefits of improving the lining etc with prog and heparin.

Sorry I'm not keeping up so well at the mo. I'm blaming the steroids and hormones!

I'm exactly same as you Cloud with GoT, read the books, but not watching this season. Just finished watching Bear Grylls The Island and blubbed like a baby on final episodes.

Marchgirl · 10/06/2015 10:43

Ah, now that's a series i like jady. Basically just the same as all these other self absorbed reality shoes but with the addition of starvation! Brilliant trash

Am in waiting area, rediscovering my zen. I will cope whatever. I am just going to roll with it.

cloud good plan re harmony test - as you say, if scan and bloods are good that will be very reassuring. Definitely agree that getting as far as you are now is a really positive sign.

jady hugs, sounds like you are having a hard time. Sorry about due date.

snoopy sofa, pj's and trash tv have their uses. Whatever you need to do to get through, is all you need to do for now.

sebs i hope you get meds sorted.

brummie i looked on that thread agree with what has been said already. I definitely can't manage anywhere but here.

Yes what happened to the PROMISE results? Good to know other trials are ongoing.

leah I always think of more questions afterwards. Definitely call/e-mail for clarification.

Marchgirl · 10/06/2015 10:52

Hand holding bootles xx

OP posts:
Jady77 · 10/06/2015 11:05

Also handholding, hope they don't keep you waiting too long Bootles

Need a new TV series now.

I've ventured to other threads a couple of times and then ran straight back here. I am part of one Facebook due in Jan group who have specifically said they'll delete any unsupportive comments towards those mc'ing, has been fairly amusing so far with cravings and whatnot and no arguments which is always a bonus.

sebsmummy1 · 10/06/2015 11:19

Just reading that your waiting for a scan twisted my stomach bootles. I am not looking forward to that if I get far enough to even have one. Hand holding here.

bootles · 10/06/2015 11:32

Thank you ladies. The hand holds helped.

Right, so there is indeed a bean in there with a strong hb and measuring 9mm, she said 7 weeks. By LMP I am 7+4, but by ovulation I am 7+1, so I reckon that's ok. And breathe. I have the next one booked in 2.5 weeks, as the last one died at 9+1 so I want to get a bit past that. I have had it all look good at this stage more than once, but TIAP and am reminding myself to be positive. New egg new lining new pregnancy.

girliesaints · 10/06/2015 11:37

Good news Bootle & breath x

My SIL took part in the promise trial and she's recently had a letter to say she can now find out if we was on the actual drug or the placebo, which makes me think they must be getting ready to publish the results.

Had a look at the prism trial. Looks very interesting but no where need me at the moment. Ggrh...

Sat waiting for GP telephone consultation to sort out rmc referral paperwork. Only 35 mins late so far....

sebsmummy1 · 10/06/2015 11:43

Excellent stuff!! Bootles I'm delighted for you.

I'm sitting in the soft play I started miscarriage no.1 in. Tentatively went to the toilet expecting to see blood and was delighted to see snow white creamy CM. Still feeling stressed but I'm praying I might relax at some point.

Jady77 · 10/06/2015 11:48

Great news Bootles, now to make the next 2.5 weeks fly by for you.

Hope GP calls soon Girlie. Very frustrating waiting for calls and knowing when you need to start chasing. Esp if GP then turns out to be part time and has gone for the day by the time you chase. I'd maybe give them a call and find out where in the queue you are.

Brummiegirl15 · 10/06/2015 11:51

Just had a look at the prism website and I see Birmingham Women's is the main recruiting hospital (bad memories of Women's for me Sad )

So if I wasn't already on progesterone it would be great for me - but as I am, there is no point

Great news Bootles that is fab!!! Cat hope growth scan is ok, I'm sure it just where you are tall and slender (not that I'm envious at my 5 ft size 14) and kitten is tucked away

Trashy telly - I'm so bad at shit telly. When we bought our house we moved from Sky to Virgin media so I no longer have Sky Atlantic. Boooooo

Love Island - should you care - is on ITV2 at 9pm every night and is basically 12 strangers who never met before and they have to couple up. The couple still together at end win £50k - but they all keep swapping and dumping each other.

I'm so ashamed of my viewing habits...

cloudjumper · 10/06/2015 11:52

Fab news bootles Hope you can relax a bit now (for a little while, anyway!).

sebs Yeah, I'm still hoping to be able to relax at some point! I thought just yesterday that I actually feel relatively calm at the moment, for once. But then I ended up watching the start of the 'Surviving Birth' programme last night (whatever you do, don't watch it), and it all came crashing back down on me. Had to switch off in the end, but felt completely shaken for the rest of the evening (DH was quite disturbed when I came into the kitchen to sob on his shoulder).
Feeling better today, but still a bit fragile. This journey is definitely not for the faint-hearted...

girliesaints · 10/06/2015 11:59

Don't worry Jady already called and got told he's not got to yet. Ggrh annoyed as had to wait a week as it is for the appointment but understand if it's an emergency

Marchgirl · 10/06/2015 12:01

Yay! Great news bootles, so delighted for you Grin

I know you have to go at a certain point In your cycle, but does anyone know if there is a waiting time as it's the only place you can go for this test. Thanks x
