Argh - missed it. Yay Bootles! Smile

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 10/06/2015 16:58

Yes she is twilight. She's had a lot of support on there but she is very anxious.

seb you're right. I'm on the TTC on pred thread on the conception board and one of the ladies there is going through something similar with clear blue tests. I've never used one because I'm too tight!

annie that gp is definitely a keeper.

cloudjumper · 10/06/2015 17:03

annie My GP did that, too - the call to check on me, I mean (but mine's a she, otherwise I would have asked if you have the same one!). Such a small thing, but it meant so much to me at the time (and still does). And she called after hours as well.
Sometimes you find kindness where you least expect it.

AnnieHoo · 10/06/2015 17:05

Thanks catlover that's really kind of you. I just want to know if factor V Leiden is covered by the routine anticoagulation tests or if it's a specific test I need to get done.

tannyLoo · 10/06/2015 17:06

Me too! Been busy all day and I can see everyone has been super chatty...

Brilliant news Bootles, really fantastic x

Jady fingers crossed for tomorrow x

I started watching GoT because of you sick and twisted lot and am now hooked.

In my role as drugs baron I do have some clexane and fragamin (both lmw heparin) looking for a new home. Also a ton of ic pg tests I didn't have a POAS habit, oh no not me if anyone is interested. I might ask for a contribution towards postage for the heparin as they're bulky...

Oh and a top tip from me is don't get both your kids inoculated on the same day. Especially if your DH is having a jolly at a conference. And you are potty training.

Brummiegirl15 · 10/06/2015 18:13

Poor Charlotte I hope she's ok. She was getting a really rough time on ante natal thread

I'm so cross I don't have Sky Atlantic any more

Catlover2014 · 10/06/2015 18:20

I'll ask her when she messages me back Annie.

My growth scan was fine. They think he is currently about 5lbs 14oz so smallish but still well within the normal healthy range. Thank you all for being so supportive during my week of worrying. x

tannyLoo · 10/06/2015 18:24

Great news Cat!

Justonemoretime · 10/06/2015 18:28

Cat, good news. At that weight, Kitten is already bigger than Scott, and he's 4 weeks old! Grin

Catlover2014 · 10/06/2015 18:31

Bless baby Scott! All good things come in small packages Smile Is he settling in ok Just? How you're ok?

Thanks Tanny. It won't be long until he's here now. Still remember the kindness and support of you (and others on here) in my darkest times. Won't ever forget that Flowers

mrsdiddlydoo · 10/06/2015 18:50

Great news cat!

Marchgirl · 10/06/2015 18:51

Glad the scan went ok cat and that there are no concerns.

Good luck for tomorrow jady. Everything crossed for you

That's very sweet of your gp annie. I had a gp who did the same after mc1 but unfortunately she's since left the practice and none of the others are quite as caring. It's funny because i thought she was a bit shit up until that point! Just goes to show what a long way some kindness goes when you're in need.

Ah freckle, i like the idea of the "a furchester never gives up" song being in your head. A bit less self absorbed than my "let it be me" earworm!!!

Catlover2014 · 10/06/2015 19:21

Good luck for tomorrow Jady, your scan has come around quick. I think Brummie has a scan on Friday too. Got everything crossed for you both.

Catlover2014 · 10/06/2015 19:46

Annie here is what my friend says:

Thrombophilia testing is a blooding clotting test so I guess they would call this anticoagulant testing too. They look at how long the blood takes to clot. I'm not sure what normal ranges are as they've never really discussed things with me. Thrombophilia is little understood even by health professionals it seems.

The blood clotting test is for all thrombophilia types. Mine tested positive for factor v Leiden but not for lupus anticoagulant or protein thingymobob that I can't remember name of. Factor v is most common type.

It can't be determined as a cause of miscarriage as many women with it have no problems conceiving or remaining pregnant. I'm still classed as unexplained.

Has she had IVF? A lot of the berries have heparin injections for their IVF even though they have no clotting issues. Is heparin prescribed for next pregnancy?

As for factor 8.... I'll look now! xxx

ThePopAndCry · 10/06/2015 19:56

texta I’m on wobenzym because it’s supposed to help with scarring (which I have mildly so NHS won’t do a hysteroscopy), l’arginine for lining and agnus castus for hormone imbalance. I have no idea if they’ll do anything but it’s something to do, innit?!

freckle TOTALLY forgot to say yesterday that I asked the Prof about the progesterone prescription I have of 200mg and if it was enough. She said she’s now stopped prescribing 400mg as it was making women too depressed and anxious and that the 200mg should be enough. Does this help or muddle?

bootles Whoooooop! Yay!

cat Whoooooop! Yay!

sebs my lupus anticoagulant was ‘borderline high’ but forgot to find out what it actually was. Sorry!

march your info is extremely helpful as a colleague of mine who is pregnant after 3 losses cannot convince her consultant to give her heparin. Do you mind if I send the info to her?

NotSpartacus · 10/06/2015 20:00

Good evening Smile

Hurrah for all the positive scans. I know it's hard to enjoy pregnancies when you've had losses, but every little positive step brings you closer to where you want to be. I'm excited for you all.

Brummie I had a look at the Feb thread and it did take rather a dark turn. They are normally friendlier I think, and nice and naiive. I have been on three of the buggers (I even started one once) but had to drop off them all! I think I just envy the other posters the excitement etc (although that Feb thread was a bit lacking in that department).

I love GoT too! I do not much like the Stannis or Danaerys storyline, but like the scenes at the Wall. I look forward to it all week (sad lawyer with no life...)

Today I got my test results, which were normal except for the TEG which shows something to do with super strong blood clots that don't break down easily. So if I ever get pg again I will be on 2 baby aspirins per day. DH has started talking about adoption, given that we don't seem very fertile these days. But I don't think he appreciates how hard a process that can be, either.

Annie i hope you're recovering well, and spending lots of time on the sofa eating chocolate and feeling comfy. Flowers

Brummiegirl15 · 10/06/2015 20:11

Hurrah Cat that's fab news, I'm so pleased Smile

My scan is indeed Friday but I need a bit of a kick up the bum - my nausea has seemed to ease off and I'm panicking now about losing symptoms.

Still got sore boobs but mind is going overtime.

twilightstruggle · 10/06/2015 20:22

Yay Cat - great news.

Hugs Brummie. Hang in there. One day at a time lovey.

barkingtreefrog · 10/06/2015 20:27

Annie I'm glad you found that the eprc was the right decision. Look after yourself Thanks. I was about to answer your thrombophilia question (I have factor V leiden thrombophilia) but cat beat me too it and there's not much I can add! There are different types of thrombophilia, the test covers them all.

Pop counselling followed by a lovely trip away sounds like a perfect way to deal with your edd, we'll all be thinking of you Thanks.

Brummie I dipped briefly into an AN thread when I was pg. They were all so delicately naive, I had to step away before I started shouting! I'm in here and on a couple of threads with women going through long term infertility and ivf failure (rather than the ones who wail because they've been trying over a year and it hasn't happened and they think they are hard done by - learnt very quickly I had to avoid those as well!)

Minnie sorry about the being left behind thing, it's so bloody difficult. Thanks It must be so hard to have gone through one pregnancy together but not the next. When we started ttc none of our close local friends had babies, and now 7 babies have been born and the 2nd babies are on their way Angry. Sebs/cat I'm with you two, I just cut myself off, I can't cope with it. Even when all the women get together without kids I avoid going along just in case they talk babies... And now there are 2nd time bumps it's just too bloody much! However, I do think like cheesy - if I had to swap everything in my life for everything in theirs, I definitely wouldn't. Well, maybe one of them... Grin

cloud another Jonathan strange and Mr Norrell fan here Grin. Have you read the book? It's quite different, and I'm wondering if they're going to totally change the ending.

Jady in your fb group they said they would delete any unsupportive comments towards anyone miscarrying? Why would anyone be unsupportive while someone was going through a mc?! Seems a strange thing to state!

Excellent news bootles, a little further down the line Smile.

And cat too. A good scan day Grin.

AnnieHoo · 10/06/2015 20:30

Thanks so much Cat and so happy for your good news today.

I think that means I have been tested then as part of the routine anticoagulation tests, I also had anti phosolipid done. All ok but highest in the range showing that i take a longer time to clot.

My fibrinogen result was also high and the range goes up to 4 and i was 4.1. So taking blood thinners like Asprin might not be right for me going by this. Is this what Heparin does too?

My IVF consultant saw these results and I have faith in him noticing if there was a problem so I should really dismiss this as an issue.

I might just ask my GP to investigate so I can eliminate it though.

thank you for helping me!! Smile

Brummiegirl15 · 10/06/2015 20:31

I know the feeling of cutting myself off as well. My friendship with the single friend who went through IVF isn't really the same.

I still can't see scan pics and I actively avoid pregnant colleagues in the office

A colleagues wife and new baby came in today and I was the only one not cooing over the baby. I sat and stared at my laptop and didn't move.

I'm pregnant and I still can't cope with other pregnant women

Marchgirl · 10/06/2015 20:33

Glad you've got an answer that is treatable spartacus. So are you back ttc? I really hope that one way or the other you'll get your baby soon x

pop, of course you can. I'm all for trying to re-educate these consultants who are a bit behind the times on the latest research Wink

NotSpartacus · 10/06/2015 20:39

Hi March. Yes, we've agreed to give it a year and I have sworn asolemn vow not to let it make me crazy.

Brummie. Sore boobs is great. The boobs don't lie!

Justonemoretime · 10/06/2015 20:41

Annie, the heparin will thin blood, but its primary function in pg use is to protect the developing placenta. Blood thinning is more of a side effect.

Frecklefire · 10/06/2015 21:01

Oh dear pop...depression and anxiety on 400mg?! Crapola, i wouldn't want to be like i was in march ever again Sad but i did a week on 400mg x2 last month and even though i had no bfp, i did feel fine and fine coming off. I wonder if she ment 400mg when they were pregnant? I will ask about it at leeds on monday - when i finally have my follow up apppointment and results, 4 months after my m.c...
