Does anyone else “smell” … funny?😳

When I was a kid, the loo always smelled “funny” after my DMum had used it.

Fast forward 40 years, now I’m smelling that smell when I use the loo (or just on/about me in general)

I can’t describe it 😳

Am 48 - guess Mum would have been similar age at the time?

FWIW I shower every day and wash at other end of the day

I think Florizel13 is right. I remember my grandmother having it after the menopause and now it's my turn!

Then there's the other smell that comes with old age.

The first time I noticed a smell was between my breasts, then recently after never really needing deodorant I do in warm weather. My pee stains my tena lady a stronger yellow colour. Haven't noticed a smell but allergies perhaps block my nose.

13 years post menopause I still get hot flashes 10pm like clockwork they start coming and going. My mother did warn me and she was 20 years post menopause. 🙈

Impossible. It's not like any other bodily odour but you'll know it when you smell it.

If its only when you go to the loo, its probably urine.

If it smells sweet then see the doctor as it can be related to diabetes, if it smells "meaty" like bacon or hotdog brine, drink more water as it usually related to dehydration.

Did notice a bit of a smell on and off (not an unpleasant smell, but noticeable). I eventually figured out it was caused by one of the supplements I was taking. It's not there if I don't take it.

I don't know if I smell different now, or if my sense of smell has changed, but I'm definitely noticing something. I'm 46.

I notice this is theatre toilets when I go in after an older woman. It’s yeasty I would say and I think related to dehydration, I have daily electrolytes and noticed that this changed how I smell.

My morning pee has a smell similar to gravy…. It’s weird and I’m paranoid about anyone going in the bathroom after me… I spray the toilet bowl with bleach as soon as I’ve flushed 🙄

me neither and I’m 52. I do notice if I’ve had asparagus for instance but not day to day otherwise

I get a 'ripe urine' smell when I pee- never had a uti or kidney trouble, I drink loads- at least 2 ltr daily, mix of tea/coffee/water (and additional 375ml wine lol)
I am post menopausal but still get flushes daily/nightly/fucking constantly!
I have started noticing a vinegar smell- not from the pits but from under my breasts, and a strong vinegar sweat smell from my neck
I use patchouli and black pepper Bath House soap, body wash and body lotion that almost controls the body odour (I stink on a morning before my bath) but the urine smell... nothing shifts it.
Am going to look into 'old people odour' and no doubt find something new to be paranoid about..

My DH smells bad too, I can’t bear it, it actually gives me the ick, especially in the morning! Breathe the worst but it’s not just that it’s like it’s coming from every pore. I think my sense of smell (and taste) has just gotten overly sensitive since I had radiotherapy for oral cancer & now it’s my unwelcome superpower!

Hard to, but if you go into a public loo behind a lady of a certain age, you might find it there. My grandma had it, my mum didn't and I've recently started catching a drift of it from myself. Not every day, probably at certain times of the month, which make sesne as it's hormonal. It's not BO as such, it's something to do with your pee.

My DH pee smells stronger these days. He also has a strong odour in this warm weather. Luckily he now wears nightshirts. The first one bought as a family joke but he loved it so I bought him another one. It helps contain the odour. I'm long cotton nighties all the way these days and cotton bedding.

I haven’t notice any pee smell, or don’t remember my Mum smelling. I did have onion armpits though, Mitchum didn’t work. I read on here to buy Secret Outlast deodorant from Amazon, expensive but it is amazing stuff. Never had a smelly armpit since, and I can wear tops two days now (if I wanted to).

However, I have noticed that my hands and forearms smell odd in the morning only. I can’t describe the smell, just weird. Anyone else get that?

And yes, I can smell it in the bathroom after either of us has been in it.

I also remember someone one saying that pee often smells like sugar puffs after coffee and it really does!
