Does anyone else “smell” … funny?😳

When I was a kid, the loo always smelled “funny” after my DMum had used it.

Fast forward 40 years, now I’m smelling that smell when I use the loo (or just on/about me in general)

I can’t describe it 😳

Am 48 - guess Mum would have been similar age at the time?

FWIW I shower every day and wash at other end of the day

tia 🙏

Well I'm wondering now if my curry armpits are down to the menopause 🧐
I haven't had curry armpits for a while.. the smell seems to of disappeared now but for a few years after a shower and using deodorant a couple of hours later my armpits would smell like curry.. could never understand why?
Was menopause to blame I wonder

@user1471522343 Try cranberry capsules for smelly urine, game changer for me, I buy mine from Morrisons and now Amazon. Hope it works for you too. I only take them the day I eat fish/salmon. I have heard pineapple juice may have same effect? 😊

I had a protein bar at around 11.30/12 yesterday, and only when I did my last wee before bed did I smell protein bar. Bloody weird!

So the original post was about smelly urine.
Did the thread ever get to any strategies or solution to that particular problem.
I’ve had this issue since my 20s (now in my 60s). My mother had it too. I went to the loo in a friends house earlier today and it can only be described as very pungent
Oh the shame!
Any ideas - apart from just going in the garden instead.

No, the original post was about a smell that was noticable when you happen to be in the loo (confined space?). It's a body smell - a personal smell, not urine.

yes this has been a feature of my late menopause

I’ve been using the persimmon soap (off Amazon) for a a couple of weeks and pits and weird smells are definitely better

not sure if it’s just the soap rather than the persimmon bit (and I’m not 100% sure I trust it’s got that in it!)

ingredients were otherwise lovely though.

im thinking of trying just soap from now on. Mum uses pears sensitive. I’m eyeing up fussy though as I have the deodorant and love it (though it wasnt working when pits were very onion/ curry on very active days!)

Oh! I don’t have any useful tips but the one onion armpit- yes I did have that! It’s gone now but I totally recognise perfumes smelling different. I used to occasionally use a deodorant/ body spray with a light citrus scent. Last time I used it, I rushed into the office, got in the lift, greeted colleague, thought My GOD, how can he wear that aftershave, it’s like Parma violets dissolved in toilet duck. Left lift and went to my desk… yes… it was me…

“Parma violets dissolved in toilet duck
brilliant!
