Does anyone else “smell” … funny?😳

When I was a kid, the loo always smelled “funny” after my DMum had used it.

Fast forward 40 years, now I’m smelling that smell when I use the loo (or just on/about me in general)

I can’t describe it 😳

Am 48 - guess Mum would have been similar age at the time?

Regarding onion pits I used to sweat loads and needed a really powerful anti-perspirant when I was younger. Now, menopause, nada. My sweaty pits have been replaced by hot flushes

My wee smells normal but I went through a few years of my pits smelling of weed.

Try putting a hanky in the decent smelling armpit for 48 hours. Then put the same hanky in the other armpit. You may be able to sort out the microbiome.

Pits aren’t my issue- I barely need deodorant these days. Most of me doesn’t smell at all.

The man smell is nonenal at the back of the neck, so persimmon soap sorts it.

The pee smell- it’s in the pee. Not sure what to do about that- eat more peaches and pineapple?!

I’m in my 50s and sensitive to deodorants so really appreciate the suggestion of persimmon soap … so I searched for some. The screenshot should be attached 😂😂😂😂😂

The human body starts to "break down" and release smells after death, not with aging, what a completely inaccurate choice of words. I might be sweating differently but I am most definitely not decomposing yet 😂

Yes, I had a lumpectomy on one side and that armpit was horrendously oniony for a couple of months post-surgery; then that calmed down a bit, and the other seemed to 'catch up' a few years later... antibac soap helped, but I'd love to find some persimmon too.

And I've worn Guerlain perfume all my life, but it just goes powdery on me now... I know it's known for that powdery, sweet 'Guerlainade', and I'd get a hint of that in the drydown after several hours; but it's just overpoweringly cloying on me straight away now... 😢

Apparently our skin gets more alkaline and greasy with age, so I'm going for more citrussy perfume to counteract that.

I am so sure i never smell and I’m not fastidiously washing. I’ve literally been exercising all day. Had a run then did 9 holes of golf and no shower. I’ve just checked my armpits and no smell at all. I’m 64. Maybe it’s genetic? I didn’t suffer at all from menopause. Although pretty bad hormones for other stages. Don’t know.

When I was a kid my aunt had a smelll, not really unpleasant but a bit musty.
when I was in my late 30s/40s I noticed I smelt like that. I was horrified but it passed. I got menopause quite young. I’m 50 and haven’t had a period in about 10 years.
I presume its hormonal.

Yes! My mums post bathroom smell was distinctive and I now recognise it. Not foul, possibly because she was my mum. I’ve also been pondering the persimmon soap as I feel (this is weird) like my neck smells sort of like warm dairy. Assuming it’s hormones. Ain’t menopause lovely.

My body odour has a weird smell now. I can't honestly describe it. I have to wear chunky boots for my job and the smell from them is not like normal pongy feet - it almost has a sweetness to the smell but it isn't nice!

Yup op, exact same! Also I wake in the morning stinking no matter what the weather now, only time I didn’t I had a shower, moisturised with a very scented body lotion and used deodorant before bed. Not willing to do that nightly!! The joys!!!

eta am 45 and my bathroom smells like my granny and grandads used to so I use candles and try various toilet ducks and … no I don’t clean it anymore than I used to, I’m too exhausted!!!
