same thing I did after new arrivals - with a short break for maternity leave!

KiwiKat · 16/05/2006 14:59

I've been advised to try eating celery (yuck) for carpal tunnel pain. Has anyone else been told to try this?

2shoes · 16/05/2006 15:34

never was told that thank god(hate the stuff)

goldenoldie · 16/05/2006 22:05

Celery? That's new. Let us know if it works. Just about bearable with hummus or salad cream!

sunnydelight · 17/05/2006 14:39

OK 2shoes, why aren't you coming to the Brighton meet up? We're not all young and beautiful you know Grin

2shoes · 18/05/2006 22:16

did think about it but I am not great in groups. sounds tragic I know.If it was just asmall thing I would have but can't get round the idea of meeting loads of people at once...

sunnydelight · 19/05/2006 16:26

It's not likely to be that big 2shoes, but if it's not your thing fair enough Smile

2shoes · 19/05/2006 22:41

i am a scaredy cat

2shoes · 26/05/2006 22:22

where have you all gone????

suejonez · 26/05/2006 22:35

I have been having a real life (aka trying not to eat more whilst on a diet than I do normally). Bored, bored, bored with waiting for my adoption to happen. I have nothing to say because I do nothing except think about WHEN THIS BLOODY ADOPTION WILL HAPPEN. Angry.

but enough about me Grin how are you?

2shoes · 26/05/2006 22:59

must be awfull waiting have you got the child now or waiting for that as well.

suejonez · 27/05/2006 09:29

No I'm waiting to be referred a child. It's not like a pregnancy where ou can pretty much guarantee that it'll take 9 months. I'm at a little over 2 years since staring and I have no idea whether it'll take another 3 months or another 9! In the meantime a lot of my paperwork is expiring so it has to be redone.

AAAAAAAAARRRGH

Can you tell I'm getting a little impatient?

Novembergirl · 27/05/2006 09:51

Hi, thought I'd reintroduce myself as I would love to chat to/meet some older mums.

I am 43 and my DS is 16 months old. We live in West Sussex but I work in the City.

suejonez · 27/05/2006 14:36

Hey me too (work in the city that is). I work near Liverpool St station - happy to meet up for a coffee one lunchtime.

2shoes · 27/05/2006 22:39

Novembergirl where in west sussex??

Novembergirl · 28/05/2006 09:44

Hi Suejonez, I work near Monument and would love to meet up with you for coffee one lunchtime; if you pm me I'll give you my work email and hopefully we can arrange to meet?

Hi 2shoes, we live near Arundel in West Sussex; are you also from West Sussex?

2shoes · 28/05/2006 11:40

suejonez · 28/05/2006 22:19

Hi - I've just come back from a weekend in Brighton, my best friend lives there ("Hove actually"). went to see a concert in marquee at old steine. Walked for miles but rain held off, though I'm feeling a bit windswept.

Novgirl - I wlak up from Monumnet station most days - I'll PM you tomorrow. We could meet for a sandwich/coffee somewhere on bishopsgate?

2shoes · 28/05/2006 23:36

KiwiKat · 29/05/2006 21:54

Hello all - we've just got back from a couple of days in Nottingham. One of DH's oldest friends finally got married after 15 years of living with his now-wife, so it was very much a party weekend. Before that I had a looooong lingering cold, but am now BACK feeling great and wondering how you are all doing.

suejonez · 29/05/2006 23:51

Hey KiwiKat are you a new zealander? I saw Bic Runga in concert at the weekend - I understand that she's quite well known in NZ

KiwiKat · 30/05/2006 00:09

I am indeed! Yep, Bic is big in NZ - was she any good?

suejonez · 30/05/2006 00:51

Yes I thought she was good, though I wasn;t so keen on her recent stuff a bit same-y and dirge-y. Concert was full of Kiwis though! NZ would have had to declare a day of national mourning is anyone had thrown a bomb into the place! How big is she? She doesn't look much older than 23!
