oooh its nice in here great new thread BL
so what are we all doing for the next meet up? i start my new job on monday but im free evenings and weekends
MD how are you gettin on? is your DD1 settling down with DD2 now
hope everyone else is doin well
xx ei xx

andyrobo237 · 09/08/2008 20:35

Yes, we could do with a 'summer hols' meet up - may be tricky as everyone is usually off on hols sometime! We have had ours and I am on childmnding duties, as the childminder is on holiday and so is DD (from school), so they need entertaining!! Ok when the weather is good - trip to park is enough, but when it rains we need a better idea!

Nemoandthefishes · 09/08/2008 20:53

our next hols arent until oct now..well unless some miracle happens with the weather because if it does we may air out the tent at shell island..

how is everyone doing??
not a lot going on here apart from the trio killing each other and DD2 getting older by the second!!!

MyDingaling · 10/08/2008 15:39

Our next holiday is Oct too so I am available for a meet up.
Things here seem to be settling down a little. DD1 seems to be getting a bit more used to DD2, although I am under no illusions that everything is fine now!!
Ei - good luck for tomorrow

biglips · 10/08/2008 18:15

MD - well thats good to hear that things are settling down now...well my next holidays are next year so im free all year!

OP posts:
browny · 12/08/2008 23:19

MD, glad to hear that DD1 is getting used to her little sister, how are you coping with being woken up again to feed dd2 in the night... I love my sleep and I'm wondering how I'll cope being awake in the night with a newborn, then have to get the other four up for school next morning! I feel huge now and hardly anything fits me anymore!

Biglips, how are you feeling? Have you got your nursery ready? We've bought bunk beds and a new larger wardrobe for the boys (ds2 has moved in with ds1) and a new carpet is coming on Thursday for the baby's room.

Hope everyone is o.k. and coping with trying to entertain the kiddies in the miserable weather!.

biglips · 13/08/2008 08:34

ooh yes the nursery is still the same as it was before as DD only moved out of it about 8 months ago. So just gotta get a chest of drawers now. Got 4 weeks to go!

OP posts:
MyDingaling · 13/08/2008 13:38

Hello just had a lovely morning at Calderstones, need to make the most of the sunny weather.
browny - DD2 is very unpredictable, on Monday night she was awake every 4 hours and taking 2 hours to sttle after each feed but last night she was fed at 11 went straight to sleep and didn't wake up until 6.10 this morning.
Think she has reflux so tried her on new bottles and feeding her with her sitting up so hopefully she will be a bit more comfortable and we will have more nights with 7 hours sleep!
How long have you got left Browny?
BL - not long now, how are you feeling?
Ei - how is the job going?
Hope everybody else is ok.
Anybody fancy a meet up with kids next week?

biglips · 13/08/2008 13:49

yes it is gorgeous today and my mum had taken DD swimming today along with the Morgan clan (my mums sisters and their grandkids). ive just been on the bus to the Strand shopping centre and back.....im so knackered...im gonna finished off the paperwork for Dp and then watch telly for abit to chill out!.

im having my SD all next week so ill just take them to the park as too knackered to be walking everywhere and the playgroups have finished this week for DD.

OP posts:
andyrobo237 · 13/08/2008 16:26

MD - I am off next week - Wed, Thurs and Fri - a meet up with kids would be great as they are getting restless with this weather - took them swimming today to tire them out - think it tired me out all this getting dressed and undressed!

browny · 13/08/2008 20:18

MD, hope the new bottles work for dd2, that was a long stretch of sleep that she had the other night... were you still up though worrying about her or did you manage to sleep through yourself? I'll be 28 weeks this coming Monday, so only 12 weeks left. If you are going to have a sort out of your maternity clothes, please think of me before the charity shop....sorry to be so cheeky but I thought I'd ask as I'm fed up wearing the same pair of cropped trousers!.

We've been to Ikea today to collect doors that weren't in stock last week, we ended up bringing home a white chest of drawers and some cute wall lights too .

It would be lovely to meet up next week, where have you in mind - the park?

Hi to everyone else.... Jammy where are you?

MyDingaling · 14/08/2008 11:24

Browny - you are welcome to my maternity clothes BUT I am still wearing many of them! I am starting back at slimming world tonight so hopefully I will not be needing them for much longer!

I love Ikea, your nursery wil look lovely.
Well DD2 had me up last night from 3.40 until 5.55, so maybe night before was a fluke! Keep telling myself it is only a phase and will soon pass.

Andy - I can do wed, thurs and fri. Maybe we should wait till the weekend or early in the week to decide when we have more of an idea what the weather will be like.

Nemoandthefishes · 14/08/2008 11:36

aww MD hope she sleeps like DD1 soon!!Remeber still welcome to drop dd1 off so you can snooze..we arent doing anything...lol
I started back at SW last week and lost 3.5lbs so onwards and upwards..or downwards
Browny you dont look massive at all and nursery spunds like it will be lovely!!
Waves to ev eryone else..

biglips · 14/08/2008 12:18

well done Nemo .

OP posts:
browny · 14/08/2008 13:37

MD, thank you, can't wait to meet your dd2 next week , I hardly slept at all last night, just couldn't get comfy at all and then just as I was about to pick up my morning cuppa, the baby gave me a massive kick, it really made me jump!

I'm still waiting for the carpet fitter , I was supposed to be the second job of the day, ha!

biglips · 15/08/2008 14:41

been to the hosp and baby still breech! so gotta go back next friday to turn the baby round if not turned by itself. im 36 weeks today.

OP posts:
MyDingaling · 15/08/2008 18:57

Oh no BL! Hope your baby turns round for you.

Browny - did the carpet fitter come?

Nemo- well done on your weight loss. I got weighed last night and I am exactly the same weight as I was when I joined last time.

We have had to take DD2 to the doctors today, the midwife came and heard her cry (she had been crying for hours) and said she was concerned. Doc checked her oer and said she did have reflux so has given us baby gaviscon to put in her bottles.

andyrobo237 · 15/08/2008 20:55

BL - oh no, that is a pain! It it doesnt turn will they let you give birth naturally? DS was breech all through, but I knew I was more than likely having a c-section anyway, so it didnt matter. I have been told that they can turn back even if if they do manage to turn them.

MD - DS had a bit of reflux when he was little - we tried everything from gripe water to infacol, but the best course of action was a couple of sessions at the cranial osteopath - he was loads better after that - they reckon it can be due to difficult journey when you give birth - was a bit too hippy dippy for me, but we had tried different bottles as well, so it was a last ditch attempt - he was and still is a bad sleeper, so I do wonder if I need to go back!!

Nemo - good weightloss there - I remember your previous go and how well you did then - keep at it and it will be great!! An excuse to go shopping when you drop a size anyway!!

Browny - hope your carpet got fitted - I hate waiting in for people like that!!

Pro bably is a good idea to wait til early next week to see what weather is like before deciding what /. where to go!!

biglips · 15/08/2008 21:34

andy - if it all failed then i will have to have a c-section. i know that it can still turn back but at least i tried.

OP posts:
Nemoandthefishes · 15/08/2008 23:03

BLS I had a friend whose DS didnt turn with EVC so she went in to have c section and on that day he had turned around so she came home and had a vbac.

MD both dds had bad refulx. DD1 was under the hospital for it so keep an eye on dd2 and if the gaviscon helps for a couple of days then stops take her back to gp and have enfamil AR prescribed as it is an anti reflux formula[assuming you are formula feeding by reference to bottles]thing that helped with dd2 was Dr browns bottles with the gaviscon in and am sure you will be svelte like with SW again soon!!!

Browny hope the carpet turned up and your nursery is looking gorgeous!!

AR agree about waiting until next week for a date. DEpending on times I cant do wednesday morning as dds are in nursery until 12.45pm but otherwise I dont think there is anything esle on..

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 16/08/2008 10:45

just had a great day at Farmers Ted......never been before and the poor kids are wrecked

OP posts:
andyrobo237 · 16/08/2008 21:02

I like farmer teds - when DD was young (3 ish) we used to go every other weekend (that was when it was cheaper to get in than now!!). We used to spend all day there and have lunch and it would cost £20! Now it would be £15 for us to get in!!

Nemoandthefishes · 16/08/2008 21:06

agree they have hiked the prices up at farmer teds but still good place to go..I tend to go to acorn venture now as its extremely cheap..lol

Ei fingers crossed a may/june baby is on its way to you

Hope everyone else is ok..seems we are in the throws of half potty training DD2 as due to much observation of dd1 she now insists on taking her nappy off to use the potty. Also only got half a bathroom as dh has taken the tiles off the wall and we are getting a new suite next week which he is attempting to fit while he is off work from next sat..also got the dds bunk beds coming on monday so bit hectic..

Ambi · 16/08/2008 21:54

Hi all, landed home last night at 1am so I'm still pretty tired. Was a fab holiday, nice to see some sun but was too hot, over 30 degrees most days, so could only stay out in it for half an hour before my skin felt like it was sizzling. DD was great, I was dreading taking her abroad but she was a dream. DH spend most of the time with her, so it was good for him. Back home and its bloody raining and freezing.

Ei- congrats on the job, glad its going well. Wishing you baby vibes next month

browny- glad you had a good time in the lakes.

biglips- DD was breech at 34weeks too, but mw seemed pretty unconcerned. there I was planning cs, getting my head around it and looking forward to it, by 36wks transverse so that was out of the window. I hope that lo turns around for you as I believe that it can be a bit painful when the docs do it.
