I'm hoping to have found out:

a) I've got a bonus and

b) its a big fat one

by next Thurs...I really can't take another year of sucking off senior management to get a pay rise!!!

MaeWest · 25/02/2008 22:18

Next thurs good for me too - should we book a table?

PussinJimmyChoos · 25/02/2008 22:20
Desiderata · 25/02/2008 22:20

Hey! That would be good, Puss .. your mum coming, too!

OK, so not this Thursday but the next one. That is Thursday 6th March.

MaeWest ... you're coming even if I have to kidnap you.

NMC ... can you come?

And what about DixiePixie? I hope she gets this.

ArmadilloDaMan · 25/02/2008 22:21

I can't believe you still have that fricking tupperware

MaeWest · 25/02/2008 22:23

Well, if there's tupperware around, I'm definitely coming

Slightly scared of Desi tho, I'm only a simple woolly liberal type

PussinJimmyChoos · 25/02/2008 22:23

I'll text Dixie and let her know there is a meet up thread

Dillo - I have a tupperware fetish!!

Oooh - all excited now! What restaurant btw -we haven't actually agreed on one yet have we?

Desi - join my designer bag thread in style and beauty please.....[snigger]

PixelHerder · 25/02/2008 22:25

I think I'm okay for next Thurs (as long as MIL is able to make it, DH is playing squash)

Thanks for the offer of a bed Mae, may possibly take you up on that one!

ArmadilloDaMan · 25/02/2008 22:26

Desi is lovely.

Desiderata · 25/02/2008 22:27

Oh! Is that why you haven't gone on previous meet-ups, Mae

I don't mind backing off for the night .. you can still have my vouchers for the Waterfront restaurants.

Sorry, I've had a bit of a day today on MN. I think it's important that you meet up with the other gals. You've always been on the meet-up threads!

PixelHerder · 25/02/2008 22:29

Puss - you don't STILL have Mae's tupperware do you???? There's a very nice branch of Lakeland Plastics in Bath you know, can I tempt you to a shopping trip???

DixiePixie · 25/02/2008 22:30

Ooh, did I hear my ears burning?!

I love the idea of meeting up but need to weigh up with:

(a) am STILL BF and DD is STILL refusing cows milk in a cup (DD tends to get her last BF of the day at 8pm - right in the middle of socialising with adults time!!) Maybe if I went out she wouldn't notice missing her evening feed for once? [hopeful emoticon].

(b) I am a bit - erm - "financially challenged" at the mo...

Could I have a little think about it and get back to you?

MaeWest · 25/02/2008 22:30

Just joshing Desi, don't show the face. Would love to meet you

I'm just disorganised, plus now back at work part-time, so haven't made it to more recent meet-ups...

PussinJimmyChoos · 25/02/2008 22:34

Desi - she was joking. Don't let that thread get to you - its just playground crap at its worst with certain posters being a bit cliquey. Life is too short darhling!

I'll be if you don't come!

Pixel - its bad about the tupperware isn't it?! Although in my defence m'lud I took it for my own use safe keeping as Mae West left it behind as left IKEA in a rush irc

MaeWest · 25/02/2008 22:35

Dixie - hope you don't mind me offering bf advice, but I would say go for it. DS is still bf at least a couple of times a day, and I had to work late a few months ago (got in after bedtime) so DH put him to bed, offered him milk in a cup and he was absolutely fine. He seemed to be smart enough to realise that DH = cowsmilk, me = boob. We've done it a few times since and it;s been fine.

Would be nice to see you again

PussinJimmyChoos · 25/02/2008 22:36

Btw - Lakeland in Bath!!!!

DixiePixie · 25/02/2008 22:36

I didn't see whatever thread that was Desi, but hope you are OK?

Desiderata · 25/02/2008 22:38

That's fine, dixie. Just the way life rolls. I have a voucher that will pay for your meal, so no worries there.

Have a free night, because I know that one day you will return the favour. If you can express your milk, and get dh to settle dd, then please try to come.

You know me, and dillo, and Nikki, and NMC. We're good people, and we'll look after you .. and we'll get you a taxi home when you want to go home.

I've been out twice since my son was born, and that was 3.3 years ago!! I know how difficult it is. If I go out the Thursday after next, it will be the first time I've had a night out with women for over two years. Let's do it.

Bollocks to the money. We'll sort it, and when you're in a better position, you'll return the favour. That's what friends are for. I would like your company. Indeed, I would love your company.

And I have a fucking voucher !!!!!

PixelHerder · 25/02/2008 22:38

Yes indeed Puss, it's a two storey one with a lift ...

DixiePixie · 25/02/2008 22:40

Thanks Mae.

Trouble is that if I offer DD a drink in a cup that isn't water she can't be doing with it.

Now, if it was a case of her pinching another child's cup or bottle containing anything other than water she'd be interested then

Gotta cut the apron strings some time though I guess. Haven't done any socialising away from DD since I became a mum 19 months ago!!

PussinJimmyChoos · 25/02/2008 22:41

2 storeys!!! Oooh! Do they have those lovely cupboard shelf things - you know where you can stack your tins in tiers so you can see at a glance what you have???

Oh God, no-one's going to want me to come now aren't they!!!

PixelHerder · 25/02/2008 22:42

G'waan Dixie You know me too, we were both at Ikea at the time of the 'tupperware incident'

Desiderata · 25/02/2008 22:43

Sorry, Mae I didn't mean to over-react.

I still say you have to be there, though!!

And the 'dillo is quite right. I am lovely

As she is.

MaeWest · 25/02/2008 22:44

Hmm, tough one, would she have a yoghurt and/or another tasty yet nutritious snack? Don;t stress about the apron strings tho, you're doing a great thing for your DD. My mum was staying this weekednd and making not so subtle hints about stopping bf... gah.

Desi - you def need a night out then

PussinJimmyChoos · 25/02/2008 22:46

The Tupperware incident!! Pixel! I was going to say you can vouch for my good character knowing me at uni but then I remembered the lecture where I got whistled at from the back at my huge love bite and thought..nah...just remember me as I am now...reformed and all that...
