Hi, sorry haven't been around much this week, came down with that horrible flu bug on Monday and it's wiped me out, still feel pretty wobbly. Dh took dd1 and the kids ice-skating yesterday for her birthday, I wasn't up to going . Hope you are all managing to steer clear from all the horrible bugs going around .x

Hope everyone doing ok - Browny get well from that stupid flu!

Bit more cheery today...so, have decided that since everywhere is packed over half term and I'm skint and we haven't had a proper get together for ages and for Browny and MD who can't get to meet ups during term time...I'm gonna have everyone round here one day in half term (week beginning 11th Feb).

So, votes in for which day, please. Will check with DH to see when he's NOT going to be about and we'll go from there. Will be a BYO lunch affair and if weather's good we can shove all the Dcs out in the garden and we can have a good old gossip!

We are struggling here ds has decided he hates nursery as does dd1. I am worn out and dont have energy to fight ds every morning but have to as soon he wont have a choice.

I have a midwife appointment on thursday but it is first thing.
Other than that no plans yet.

Sorry you are having a hard time with DS and DD1. Has anything happened to make them feel like this?

meant to say ds has speech and language group every morning over half term but I think[and hope] it is only for one hour.

md ds has been like this since the christmas break and dd1 apparently is stubborn and also hates being split from dd2. Have just done a seperate thread about ds.

Nemo - will be thinking about you tomorrow morning and hope the nursery run goes a bit better. May be just a bit unsettled after Christmas? Is there any way you cna stay for a bit with DS and DD1 to just observe how they are interating with staff and other children, just to see for yourslef whether there is anything that could be triggering this upset off?

Chez Jaamy will be open all day so you can just arrive as and when appointments finish. Kettle will be on the boil all day!

Ei, gigglewitch, would especially love to meet you. Though am fairly sure DH will be floating around on the friday so probably won't be then. Is any other day good for you during half term week?

Jammy - lovely to see you posting again, so glad you're feeling happier and a huge thank you for offering to have a get-to-gether in term time, any day would be fine for me... I'll fit in with everyone else .

Nemo, sorry your poor little ds and dd1 are upset with going to nursery, it's so very hard isn't it to encourage them to go when they clearly don't want to be there, I hope it is like Jammy suggested and they are just unsettled after Christmas.

Nemo, thank you for asking your dh, if he can come tomorrow do you know what time roughly, obviously I will be in after 2.15 pm because of kiddies arriving home from school etc. .

So, you and DH have had cause to celebrate IYKWIM . Fingers crossed for both of us this month - though will mean you will have to take it easy on the packing/removals front...what a great excuse

Am thinking will make it the tues or wed of half term (13/14th, I think). This is when DH tends to be away, though he's not sure yet for that week. Bring stuff that we can all share for lunch/afternoon tea/early evening cocktails(!)

Oops, just realised, 14th is Valentines day. Might have to rethink as you may not be able to get to my front door with all the pressies, cards and flowers. Though DH will prob try to schedule so is at home to make it look like he's making an effort. Will get back to you for day, but is def on for one day that week!

Gosh, I remember meeting most of you lovely ladies at a similar "do" at BLs way back in Jan 2006.

jaamy i will definitely be making doubly sure my erm... efforts let me use the 'i cant help pack/carry/unpack with me being in the family way' excuse although i have pulled my back out doin god knows what (definitely not that though) and im in agony so 'celebrations' have to be good clean fun rather than the obvious...
biglips i am stayin in walton about 5 minutes away from our current house but it is bigger and all done so we can just move our stuff in and get on with living there also it can accomodate a big party of people so once we are settled how about we organise a meet up in my new house i would never dream of havin one in this house as we would be crammed in like sardines and sittin on the floor

biglips i found out i was preg with DD 3 days after we moved in here and we had been trying for 10 months so i think the myth is true...new house new baby!!

DH is away for a whole week this time so if we didn't get the deed done at the weekend have missed the boat (or moses basket) again this month!

Mrsei, that's brilliant news about your house sale, hope it all goes through really easily and quickly for you , I've got my fingers crossed for both you and Jammy for this month .

Biglips, thanks for asking about fil, but it's not good news. Tonight we were told that his wound has become badly infected and they need to operate again but they can't. His kidneys are still not working, apparently the dialysis is making him even more ill and his lungs need draining due to build up of fluids, the doctors have said he's very ill . Dh is going in to see him again tomorrow when hopefully we'll know what treatment the doctors are planning.

Nemo, would you be able to text me please if you know roughly what time your dh can come (if he can come), thank you so much .

Oh Browny - so sorry to hear that your FIL isn't recovering. Will say little prayer for you all tomorrow that the docs have some positive news.
