secretsantaandherelves · 12/12/2007 08:52

Sorry, yes it's midnight here. Changed my name for the appeal thread and have forgotten to change it back. Will go and do it now.

Vio - the Fish People next to West Street subway station is good too.

prettybird · 12/12/2007 09:04

I'll also vouch for the Fish People at West Street subway. I use them regularly.

vio · 12/12/2007 13:53

Thanks ladies, so the one next to west street subway & McCallums.

will definitely check out the lads at McCallums.

prettybird · 12/12/2007 14:21

I should know - it's my local subway station

clu · 12/12/2007 14:52

my tummy is calling out for your food vio, thtat looks gorgeous esp the dumplings. where they hard to make? I would love to see some of your recipes I was teaching myself how to cook before I got pregnant, (the smells made me gag I had 9 months of wanting cereal and toast!)
Slowly getting back into it, although DD wakes up at the smell of food and its hard to cook with a baby attached to your boob. I have got my breadmaker back out and cooked some nice bread though now just have to eat it, it would be a waste.

blanki · 12/12/2007 23:47

clu · 12/12/2007 23:55

trixymalixmasy · 13/12/2007 11:43

Of course you are both welcome!!!!

The more the merrier!

Right shall we get a date sorted?

Is Wednesday morning ok for most people?

Loulee · 13/12/2007 21:17

so long as it's early-ish it's good for me. i have to be away by 11.30....or maybe if it's afternoon.
actually, don't plan round me as next week is pretty hectic for me anyway - family stuff (with ever changing dates and times thrown in!) and nursery do's....blah bla

blanki · 14/12/2007 04:59

Wednesday is good for us, pref in the morning, but could also do the afternoon. Agree the food looks quite amazing, very impressed!

TALLUBAHHUMBUGBELL · 14/12/2007 05:38

FINALLY online ? hurrah!

So nice to see you on here Vio. I think of you often.

Was due to come home next week but now we are staying on here for another month. Am for my folks who were looking forward to LO's 1st Xmas & am a tad bored & homesick but just have to try & make the most of it. Am grateful that the sun is shining & we are not shivering & sheltering from the rain or suffering almost perpetual darkness.

So quick update - DD is doing well. She will be 6 months tomorrow. We attended a sleep clinic as she refused point blank to nap in the day. It really did the trick & she now has regular morning and afternoon naps, still sleeps thru the night (mostly) & is a very happy camper for it too. As is mummy.

We just started solids last week - she's had baby rice, apple, carrot, pumpkin, apricot, peach, avocado and banana. The only thing she screwed up her face at was the carrot but she ate it anyway. I'm doing some mush but the banana, peach & apricot I just gave her a big piece to chew on & she gummed it all up. So finger foods seem to be the go. She's sitting up by herself for short periods of time & can roll when she wants to but usually can't be arsed. Lazy, like her mummy! Still a tiddler - around 6kg I think & still in 0-3 month clothes.

How?s everyone else doing? Am of you all meeting up. Hope you have great time & hope to see everyone in New Year.

midnightexpress · 15/12/2007 16:04

Hi all. Weds should be OK for me, morning better than pm for me - I'll try and get back online to find out where you're meeting (still camping out, and am beginning to despair of getting back in here before Christmas - will be sooooo if we are still stuck in our poky rental flat).

Good to see you Vio! . I too think of you often.

Hope the cat's OK Trixy?

Tallulah - good to hear from you too. Very of the sunshine, but can understand the homesickness. I am suffering myself, despite being in Glasgow.

Right, have snuck in in a desperate attempt to do some online Xmas shopping (Amazon, it's a last resort), so had better go and do it and get off MN!

See y'all next week, including the newbies, I hope.

clu · 15/12/2007 21:11

Aww I have my 6 week check up on wednesday but depending on what time Ill try and catch you. Ive been looking forward to it to get some contraception sorted! lol. Was not able to do the deed due to placenta previa during pregnancy and now so scared of getting pregnant...... sorry if TMI. but you get the picture

vio · 15/12/2007 22:51

clu, am going to have a think about writing recipes, dumplings are tasty. you can fry them or boiled them with noodles. am updating my album on a regular basis.

Loulee, i met up with Anjo for lunch and we were talking about chinese food ( we had lunch at Cafe Mao). Like you, she sugguested that i should create a website, in fact, i am going to teach Chinese as well and i write Chinese Calligraphy too...so will let you all know when i have the website sorted!!...apparently, Anjo is very confident that this idea will work! she's a very kind lady!

clu · 16/12/2007 10:48

vio I have bookmarked your album so will look forward to some inspiration from you! Im going to try paella tonight it looks gorgeous and look for a good recipe for dumplings.

trixymalixmasy · 18/12/2007 14:02

It might be best to rearrange for january as the week before Xmas is a bit of a hectic time for everyone.

blanki · 20/12/2007 20:33
