We've now vacated the pregnancy threads - hope everyone can find us here!

Jotwins · 19/11/2008 17:30

HI anyone near Lesmahagow Lanarkshire? We are moving there in January from kent and I'm a bit worried I don't know anybody.

Jacs008 · 20/11/2008 14:26

Hi Jotwins, I'm in East Kilbride - maybe a couple of hours way but have to be honest and admit that I don't actually know exactly where Lesmahagow is

midnightexpress · 20/11/2008 17:13

Hi Jotwins, there are quite a few of us in S lanarkshire, but mostly a bit nearer to Glasgow I think. We meet up from time to time, usually in Glasgow so do come and join us - is there a train station in Lesmahagow? Or do you have use of a car?

giraffescantdancethetango · 30/11/2008 10:14

Anyone got snow this morning?

giraffescantdancethetango · 30/11/2008 16:26

TALLULAHBELLE Ok this is going to sound rather strange but I feel like perhaps I know you...did we have a conversation about double buggies on Wednesday at toddler group?

rockingaroundthechristmastree · 30/11/2008 16:35

We saw snow! Just a wee bit and it didn't stick, but twas lovely all the same :>

My contract ends on 19th December, so DD and I will be around in January if anyone's up for a coffee/softplay?

TALLULAHBELLE · 30/11/2008 17:30

Not me giraffes. I don't go to toddler group at moment. But would love to discuss double buggies with you - what would you recommend?

giraffescantdancethetango · 30/11/2008 17:48

I think a phil and teds is good, I was trying to get this lady at toddlers to try it out, she mentioned MN and was wondering if it was you. I dont like the MacLaren sidebyside one, I feel like the handels are coming together when I push it. P&Ts sort of glides along, I love it. Are you looking for one to get a buggy board with or are you going to put one of the babies in a sling? One of the CMs that I go to toddler tales on a Tuesday with has a good double, side by side 3 wheeler one, can find out what type it is if you like?

TALLULAHBELLE · 01/12/2008 16:33

Thought the P&T maybe better for toddler & baby rather than the twins though was thinking along those lines with one baby in a sling. Then thought might be better with double side by side for twins, but what to do with DD then? She's too wee for buggy board at mo. Can't decide what's best , but probably won't be going anywhere for months not en masse anyway

giraffescantdancethetango · 01/12/2008 22:04

something like this ? or is she too little for that? maybe even this? then both twins would be in a phil and teds type thing though else you would take up whole pavement!

You could just go places REALLY close by at first lol.

Going to that toddler tales thing at Anniesland library tomorrow so will ask the CM what kind her buggy is. Or ofcourse you could just go for this you would save loads of money as you would never be able to get IN to shops

midnightexpress · 02/12/2008 13:26

Tallulah, have you considered contacting surestart (is that what it's called? I think so)? A friend of mine who has 18 month-old twins and a just 3 year-old has a lady from surestart who comes in every week for an afternoon just so that they can all go out to the park or wherever together (I'm assuming with two buggies). Obviously doesn't help with the day-to-day getting around problem, but it's free. I think she's an elderly lady who loves spending time with the kids and is v happy to help out.

prettybird · 02/12/2008 13:40

Wee thread hi-jack . There is a Mumsnet Chritams meet-up over in Edinburgh on Saturday 20th November at Cafe Rouge. There are a few of us getting the train acorss from Glasgow. Details here

giraffescantdancethetango · 02/12/2008 14:01

Assume its December or else its a time travelling train

prettybird · 02/12/2008 14:28

Oops of course, it is 20th December!

prettybird · 02/12/2008 14:35

And it is a Christmas Meet-up, not a Chritams Meet-up

TALLULAHBELLE · 02/12/2008 16:49

Thanks for links Giraffe. Had looked at smorph thing before but not seen the other one. It looks good but I am quite small & not really sure my arms would stretch over all that. Saw someone out today with DT's in a Nipper which looked pretty good, not too enormous. She had toddler with her but he was older than my DD & just walking alongside. Still she was able to push the pram one handed & hold onto wee one so maybe a possibility.

Midnight - I e mailed surestart/homestart aaaaages ago explaining my circumstances & asking what services they provide & if I would be eligible for some help. Never heard back at all which was pretty disappointing. Maybe should try again. Would be great to just have someone to take twins out for an hour & give me some time with DD or vice versa.

giraffescantdancethetango · 02/12/2008 18:23

I'll cat you about that surestart thing Tallulahbelle.

LOL prettybird...you have been on the christmas drinks already haven't you?

midnightexpress · 02/12/2008 20:06

Well, Tallulah, this friend is not exactly impoverished, so I'm sure you'd be eligible for something. In fact she felt a bit guilty about asking for help, but they don't have family nearby and it was all getting a bit insane I think.

vio · 21/12/2008 01:02

Hello everyone, tallulah. how are you keeping? been thinking of you and your bump!

Thanks everyone, Hannah is now just over 5wks, shes doing well. she has facial rash lately but its getting better ..HV said its hormone and its just baby acne so i am less worried now.

Hi all - haven't been on much recently, but hope everyone's had a lovely Xmas. We staggered down south, all ill, and shivered our way through Xmas, but recovering now.

Glad everything's going well with Hannah, Vio - hope to meet her soon. And Tallulah - can't believe you're 37 weeks already! One of my friends had twins - went to term and delivered them naturally, so it can be done. What's your EDD? Hope you're getting to put your feet up a bit - can't be easy with a toddler too.
