hey vio! you must be over the moon - i can hear your smile on the phone last night. it really is wonderful and now you can relax and enjoy being pregnant!

prettybird · 02/05/2008 12:33

Just to let you know that there is meet up planned in Edinburgh on 1 June - See here for details

I'll be going across from Glasgow, as will Heididrink. It seems to he developed into a a "sans kids" girlie lunch (which will no doubt involve copious amounts of alcohol, if the lunch at Tigerlily last summer is anything to go by ).

Bookthief came to the Chistmans meet-up (and was great fun). Anyone else from the "Bonny Bairns" thread also interested?

weeonion · 02/05/2008 20:09

prettybid - i may be interested but will have to see if dp is working that day or not in order to be sans kids!

bookthief · 06/05/2008 15:30

Vio I am so happy for you - what fabulous news

Prettybird - I'm on holiday but will hopefully be having a boozy lunch in Gairloch instead and will raise a glass (dare I hope in the sunshine?? Probably asking a bit much) to you all.

prettybird · 06/05/2008 15:49

I missed the last meet-up for a simialr reason - I was in South Africa - and no doubt also enjoying a pleasant glass of wine!

geordieminx · 06/05/2008 16:39

Anyone fancy a meet up S Lanarkshire way this week - Chatleraut Park?

prettybird · 06/05/2008 17:08

Dh and I have other plans: checking out new patio furniture and then ds' last rugby match on Sunday.

midnightexpress · 07/05/2008 11:02

I could do Friday Geordie, probably. But poor old ds1 came back from nursery yesterday with hideous sunburn so trying to keep him covered up and out of the sun until it dies down. Honestly, you'd think in this neck of the woods they'd have a clue that peely-wally redheads and sun don't mix particularly well.

Prettybird, not sure I'll get a free pass. Already trying to persuade dp to take the boys to the zoo so that I can go and use the Cowshed voucher that my lovely brother gave me for my birthday. Salt scrubs, massages and facials here I come. Twice would be pushing my luck.

We're off up north next week with both grannies (gulp) so hoping that the good weather lasts for a bit longer.

vio · 09/05/2008 17:00

Hi everyone, lovely day yesterday, the sun was shining, but it was a very emotional day for me as yesterday I said goodbye to Jim Jim's wee friend at Robin House but again, was a beautiful day for a very brave wee boy.

Anyway, i am just wondering if anyone had C-section and then went on to have a natural birth ? how many times can you have a C-section?

geordieminx · 09/05/2008 17:20

Vio - not an expert but a normal birth after c-s is called a VBAC - There is lots of info on here about it.

I dont think there is a "limit" to the amount of cs's you can have but obviously the more you have the greater the risk as there is more scar tissue.

I think but am not sure that they are not too keen on you have an epidural if you have previously had a cs as there is a chance of the wound rupturing and you wouldnt be able to feel it - not certain though.

Me personally? I would have another cs without a second thought!!!

geordieminx · 09/05/2008 17:21

If you fancy meeting up next week Vio we can have a proper chat about it.

vio · 09/05/2008 19:40

another CS without a second thought..!! I have to say CS wasn't as bad as i thought but I would love to have more than one child ( I know, I am thinking too far ahead and I know in my case, I am lucky to be blessed with an EB free child ) but then i am thinking, can you have 3 CS??? I have never met anyone who have had 3 CS.

vio · 09/05/2008 19:45

by the way, sorry Geordie, cant do next week as my younger sis will be here and so as my friends family members as they are likely to leave Glasgow next week, they will all stay at my place next week( doctor said my friend is now fit to travel back to HK but still waiting for a confirmation from the airline ).

geordieminx · 09/05/2008 20:15

Start a tread in the child birth section - sure there are lots of people that will be able to advise

midnightexpress · 09/05/2008 20:22

Vio I had two cs - I went for a VBAC for ds2 but it didn't work out - long story, but I ended up 10cms dilated just as they put the spinal in and I had another crash section. I was told after that that if I had any more children I'd have to have another cs, though I think there are actually people on MN who have had a natural birth after 2 cs (I think it's called VBA2C).

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/05/2008 19:41

Just popped in for quick catch up & saw your news Vio . Congratulations, am so happy for you. What wonderful news.

vio · 12/05/2008 06:18

Thank you

geordieminx · 12/05/2008 16:35

Can any of you lovely ladies help here

bruhaha · 12/05/2008 17:09

hello everyone i was pointed here by geordieminx. i'd like to join you if your having a meet up in glasgow.

geordieminx · 12/05/2008 17:15

Rightyo ladies - lets get another meet-up planned eh?

I will organise co-ordinate. If everyone could give me the days they are free that would be great.

We'll run with city centre ish - perhaps Western road/peoples palace unless these arent convenient for every one.

Will put a week on this otherwise it will run forever.

How does the first week in June suit everyone?
