Jacs - whereabouts in EK do you live? I'm in Uddingston, but am up at EK all the time - Hamilton Country Park and Calderglen... oh and the shopping centre..a lot

AlisonA · 28/03/2008 15:30

Hello geordieminx!

It has actually already been mentioned on this thread ... - thankfully nothing bad was said about it! I wont say any more for now

A friend of mine has just started up the Baby Sensory class that some of the mums on here go to - she covers Uddingston, Bothwell etc etc & she is fab, so I hope that everyone that goes is really enjoying it!!

geordieminx · 28/03/2008 15:41

That'll be my friend Nicky then

TALLULAHBELLE · 28/03/2008 15:43

Hi Jacs - if you're ever after testers for your cloth nappy design I'd love to try one out!

AlisonA · 28/03/2008 15:45

It is indeed Nicky!! She will know who I am & what I do

Put it this way - if any of you were going back to work - you may consider contacting me! Oh & if you wanted help when your baby first comes home from hospital - you would also contact me Enough said!

geordieminx · 28/03/2008 15:47

Nicky will know me too - and Chsrlie - he's her little sweetheart

geordieminx · 28/03/2008 15:49

that'll be charlie

AlisonA · 28/03/2008 15:52

I think she has mentioned him once or a million times, yes

I better stop nosing around on the net & get some work done - just about to rush off out of the office to do an overnight with one of my previous employers - 16 month old twins & a newborn! Glutten for punishment me!!

Have a good weekend - I feel I may indeed sleep through most of mine!!

Jacs008 · 28/03/2008 22:37

Hi geordieminx, we're out towards the Busby end of EK, or East Kilbride South as I believe it's new posh name is . The last time I was at Calderglen DD and I nearly got locked in the zoo bit, I just about died, being quite heavily pregnant and thinking how one earth am I going to climb over the gate. Thankfully the gates were closed but not locked, I had visions of me standing there all night shouting "heelllpp"

geordieminx · 28/03/2008 22:49

We were up there last week... ds only understands the word "cat" as we have one, so every animal that we saw I said " look at the pussy cat" and he squealed in delight... although I did get quite a few strange looks from small children, obviousl thinking " how thick is she? I'm 5 and I know its a fecking budgie.. how on earth can she think its a cat"

Hi everyone, midnight, meant to thank you for your kindness. They left my house last week and now staying at Manor Park hotel, they said it's very close to SGH, they also hired a car so things are more settled. Their sister is still in the hospital, she needs another operation on their neck on wed, it is confirmed that she suffers severe spinal injury C6-7 which means complete paralysis body and legs with no finger movement.

I have been feeling pretty sad since it happened, you just wouldn't wish it on anyone let alone that's someone you know. I guess that's life, you just don't know.

trixymalixy · 07/04/2008 21:27

Vio, that is dreadful news about your friend. I'm so sad for her and her family.

gruffalofan · 10/04/2008 19:58

I wonder if anyone can help me? My sister is due to give birth in late June and is moving to Glasgow from Manchester at the beginning of June.

She is so disorganised and doesn't even know which hospital etc she will be going to. She will prob. be moving to WestEnd-ish area so which hospital is it likely to be?

Help appreciated!

vio · 10/04/2008 20:39

gruff, Queens Mum I think.

LauraT · 11/04/2008 09:33

Queen Mum's covers the west end, up to about charing cross and along the northside of the river to away past clydebank. It's not the swankiest of buildings, but the treatment I've had so far has been excellent, plus it's right next door to the Sick Kid's hosiptal which I find reassuring to know is there in case of emergencies!

I'm due to deliver there at the same time, so if I can be of any help, let me know!

gruffalofan · 11/04/2008 15:49

Hi Laura T

Thanks for the info - Do you know if they do a tour of the labour suite / wards at all? I know when I had my babies (not at this hospital) it was all done in the antenatal classes but I think she will be too late to go to them!

Don't worry if you don't know, I can call them now I know which hospital!

midnightexpress · 11/04/2008 17:52

excellent breastfeeding support at QM as well gruffalo

midnightexpress · 14/04/2008 16:05

Where is everyone?

Trixy, we've been offered Wednesday pm at Oakwood too so ds2 and your ds may be classmates yet!

lp77 · 14/04/2008 20:38

Hi girls we survived our trip to oz. just need to catch up on sleep at some point after all my ironing gets done ....big pile waiting so will go do that just thought I'd say hi.
I delivered at Queen mums stayed in west end, but you can choose where you want to go , my friend going to southern which is just under the tunnel. The Royal is all lovely and brand new.
Paisley probably a bit far, but heard a lot of good things about there.

Gruffalofan, my friend due end May and just finished her antenatal last week so your sister will miss them but it was during the last week we got tour of labour suite, sure if she / you foned and explained the situation you could probably tag onto a class or get individual tour.
Midnight, breastfeeding support may change cos Rosemary has retired ....
Any meet ups thought about?

TALLULAHBELLE · 15/04/2008 18:43

Hi all- been aaaaages. Yep sad to say the bf group at QM seems to be on its last legs now Rosemary's gone.

trixymalixy · 15/04/2008 21:17

aww that'll be nice midnight!!

When do you move?

midnightexpress · 16/04/2008 09:18

Friday Trixy. Argh.

DS2 just had his first settling session at nursery too - wailed for an hour non-stop. . Oh dear. Looks like a bit of a traumatic week ahead for us...

Hope work goes OK tallulah - are you going back full-time?

Jacs008 · 16/04/2008 21:08

I went back to work this time last year, 8 weeks later I was expecting again :-), a colleague who was also on mat leave and came back just after me was pregnant again 6 weeks after coming back and a third girl who was also on mat leave came back, already 8 weeks gone :-) Going back though wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, the adult company and buggy free shopping at lunchtimes made up for the 'worky' bit and the 30mins to read my book on the train on the way home was bliss!
