tallulahbelle
never made it to bounce n rhyme last week at partick, sorry. Did you go?
I have been at knightswood library the last few tuesday mornings, running in late at the last minute....
hopefully I'll see you and rest of girls at some point x

nippersnappers · 18/02/2008 11:48

Wow,
I never knew this bit existed.
Hiya everyone.
I'm new to all this.
Mother of 2 boys, spotted by midnightexpress and asked to drop by.
So here I am.

midnightexpress · 18/02/2008 12:14

Geordie, she's a Geordie too!

Hi again nippersnappers - lovely pics on your profile. I've got 2 boys too. And I've also just left a nice safe job to go freelance. Yikes.

Hope to see you at one of our meet-ups soon. you'll have plenty time - it usually takes us about 6 months to find a day that everyone can make.

nippersnappers · 18/02/2008 12:19

Thanks midnight.
It's scary isn't it?
Especially the first few months when it's quiet.
I keep getting that WHAT HAVE I DONE flash but I hardly seeing my boys doing the job I was in, plus I hated it, so at least we have a better quality of home life now, which is the main thing, cos they grow up sooo fast.
How old are your boys?

geordiemacminx · 18/02/2008 12:21

Hey nippers - where abouts are you from?

I see you are over in Edinburgh - there are a few of us going to Time twisers tomorrow if you would like to come?

Or anyone else on here for that matter - I know most on this thread are west coasters but you would be more than welcome!!

midnightexpress · 18/02/2008 12:25

Yes it is ns! But I'm only working veeeeeery part-time at the moment and am getting a bit of work from my old employers so haven't yet had the worst of the collywobbles!

My two are 13 months and 2.3. We're trying to sell our flat atm, and I think I will go insane with the tidying if we don't manage to sell it quite quickly. The lego the lego. How about yours?

nippersnappers · 18/02/2008 16:52

Geordie, hiya, I'm in Musselburgh.
What is time twisters and what time is it?
Midnight- my two are 3and a bit and 1.
I remeber selling our flat. You're right about the tidying, we used to hide all our stuff in the cars when we had viewings.
Glad when it was all over.
Never moving again if I can help it.

geordiemacminx · 18/02/2008 17:05

Time twisters is a soft play just off the by-pass at Sighthill - just off Calder Road. here

There are 4 or 5 MN'ers going tomorrow - will be there from 12 for a couple of hours? 3 of us have lo's 9/10 months, and also dd and ds who are about 3?

Sorry that isnt very clear is it - 3 or 4 babies, and at least 2 3 year olds - a boy and a girl.

bookthief · 18/02/2008 17:39

Esme - are you me? I'm 35, one child (ds though and 15 months), library person with a black and white cat, only get on mn at work at the moment, and used to have a social life - spooky

midnight - nice to see you in passing yesterday, white and snottery though I was. Hope the chicken was tasty

midnightexpress · 18/02/2008 19:16

Hi bookthief - good to see you too. DS2 also snottery (after ooooh, a good 3 days without any runny nose ). The chicken somewhat disappointing tbh, but redeemed itself in pasta leftover concoction tonight so all's well. Your ds is quite an expert on his feet now, isn't he?

nippersnappers · 18/02/2008 20:13

Thanks for the invite Geordie,
don't think I'll be able to make tomorrow though after all.
Last minute job has come up.
Be good to meet up with you all at some point though.
Please let me know next time there is a meet.
Where in North East are you from exactly?
I'm from Hebburn originally.

geordiemacminx · 18/02/2008 20:47

No worries - if your plans change we'll be there!

Originally from Hexham, but grew up in Ch-le-st, Dads family lived around Blaydon?

I had a look at your website earlier, it looks fab... is it a franchise?

nippersnappers · 18/02/2008 20:56

No Geordie, not a franchise.
Just me on my ownsome.
I've always wanted to go it alone and found I didn't have the stomach after the kids for the newspaper work I was used too.
Too many bad news stories for my liking, so I quit and thats me, NipperSnappers.
My little brother designed the site.
he is v talented.

midnightexpress · 18/02/2008 20:58

NS - were you a photographer when you worked for newspapers? I just ask because my cousin is - and he lived in Embru until a couple of years ago.

midnightexpress · 18/02/2008 20:59
geordiemacminx · 18/02/2008 21:04

Thats great NS - I am desparately looking for something to do for myself like that. Be great to work around ds instead of having to be a wage slave.

EsmeWeatherwax · 18/02/2008 21:22

Booktheif, Quite spooky eh? I'm so curious about where you work now!

nippersnappers · 18/02/2008 21:28

Midnight I was a photographer for newspapers, but in England, I've been desk bound since coming north of the border.
I worked over in Glasgow for one of the nationals.
I may know your cousin though, at least by name.
Thanks Geordie, it was a leap of faith but our quality of family life is much improved.
Can even fit the school nursery run in most days, still trying to decide whether that is a good thing or a bad thing though.

geordiemacminx · 18/02/2008 21:43

I am very NS- If you are ever after a dogsbody apprentice then let me know... Not that I have any photography experience

weeonion · 19/02/2008 20:23

hey hey folks! hello to you and a huge hello to our newbies!!!!
when is the next meet up then?????

aint been on in a while - wee sis was over from ireland so had a fab few days.

i am heading ot garscube on friday am if any of you fancy it??

bookthief · 23/02/2008 20:22

I actually made it to Garscube! It was fab - well worth the money and effort to find the place. Ds had an absolute ball so we're definitely heading back next week (missed you again WO!).

He'd never been in a ball pit and he did almost go under at one point.. but came up fighting, absolutely laughing his head off.

Parking is actually surprisingly good. The streets round about are all metered but only £1 for 2 hours (max 3 hour stay).

Anyway, for any newbies that are interested and haven't come across it - Garscube Community Playrooms. £10 membership and £1 per visit and it has 3 large rooms with loads of toys, creative stuff, soft play, facilities for tea/coffee etc. Pretty rough and ready (a proper play group run by a parent committee) but great value on a wet day.

ellesbelles · 24/02/2008 19:13

Bookthief I was there on Friday too! Stayed in the feedijng room the whole time though. Hopefully meet you properly next week.

My2Weegirls · 25/02/2008 10:36

hello everyone - trixymalixy reminded me on another thread about this one. in my post-natal haze i must have completely blanked it out .

i've got no chance of catching up and reading the whole thread so i hope that everyone is well and happy .

dd2 is now 6 1/2 months - can't believe where the time has gone. she's a real content baby except when's she's not well,(which is just now, she's choked with the cold and hasn't been able to breathe through her nose since thursday). she's still not sleeping through but i'm used to the sleep deprivation now.

i go back to work on the 1st april - think i might just turn up, say 'april fools' then leave .

geordiemacminx · 27/02/2008 21:52

Where is everyone?????

trixymalixy · 28/02/2008 22:58

Dunno!

Got my pay rise btw GMM, no need for the sit in!

Meant to ask as well did you eat the dog's willy kebab after taking the photo ?

How's the flat selling going midnight? your new place sounds fab.

hello to everyone else .
