timetwisters

midnightexpress · 24/01/2008 08:44

Coooo that's rather swanky (trust Embru...). Egyptian themed soft play indeed. Whatever next. Looks good though. Will expect full report when you get back.

Angel, I've emailed you.

liath · 24/01/2008 09:40

Aw, she's gorgous Angel.

Meep, sorry you're finding it hard. I think the guilt does get a bit easier especially as they get older and really enjoy meeting their wee friends at nursery. Having said that I only do one day a week now & am not as happy with leaving ds in the baby room as I am with dd's preschool room. Tricky isn't it?

Time twisters is fab but a b*gger to find!! I always end up driving in circles round Sighthill Industrial estate - what fun . Clambers at the Commonwealth pool is good too.

trixymalixy · 24/01/2008 15:41

OMG, I'm away for a week or two and lots of new people have joined!! Hello to all the newbies lovely to hear from you all.

Well it's my DS' first birthday today. I can't believe it. It seems like only yesterday that he was born.

Happy birthday to your DS midnight for last week.

We have been away down in Plymouth with my DH for a bit as he works down there most weeks and had finally racked up enough points for free flights for us. We went to Newquay for the weekend and stayed in the mostfab hotel. Would really recommend it if you're down that way. Was the most baby friendly hotel ever! We also went to Jamie Oliver's restaurant fifteen while we were there which was fab.

I can probably make the meet up on the 30th although I will be baby free as DS will be starting nursery that day. I will be in work on the 6th though.

Right I'm off to attempt to make and egg free cake!

blanki · 24/01/2008 16:14

Im home, so missed all the rain, snow and general yuk of sunny scotland at this time of year. We were in costa coleta in fuerteventura, would SO recommend it for babies, young as well as older children famalies. Could bore you senseless....!

Angel, baby is so adorable! I would love a little girl. Feel like I need rehab for my addiction for matching socks etc and worried that it is going to deeply scar ds!

Sorry, not read it all, but v interested in meet up on 30th, what are the details please?
I dont really feel like I know anyone, being a relative newbie myself.

Anone know of any special events coming up around Glasgow suitable for pre-schoolers? Always looking for anything interesting to visit. Anyone been to music for early ears etc at the city halls?

Off to unload the washing machine, again!

midnightexpress · 24/01/2008 20:19

Happy birthday trixy's ds! Hope you've had a lovely day. I ended up smeared in carrot cake icing (like groundhog day - exactly the same happened on ds1's 1st birthday). The hotel looks lurvely.

Glad you had a good holiday blanki. No firm plan for the meet-up yet I don't think, is there? Do we have a venue even yet? Sigh. WO where are you? You're very good at rallying the troops.

Right, off to do some work - have been up since 5am (FIVE AM) with ds2, who then refused to nap at lunchtime so have a pile of work sitting here not done. And there was me thinking freelance life was going to be a doddle. Hey ho.

lp77 · 26/01/2008 00:20

bookthief · 28/01/2008 15:48

Not been on for a bit due to infuriating slow/intermittently faulty Internet connection trauma at home but I've hopped on quickly at work to see how everyone's doing.

Hello people I've not spoken to before & those of you I've not seen for a while (that'll be everyone then..)

I can only make meetups on Thurs/Fri due to work and I think these are bad days for others, but I am planning to finally make it along to the Garscube Playrooms with ds this Friday. The idea is to be there about 11 and see how we get on for an hour. He's getting quite good at the toddling now (for short spells) and is less and less happy to sit nicely for mummy while I have a coffee dammit!

WO - I think you said before Christmas you'd been planning to go back so maybe see you there. Hopefully it'll be a semi regular thing as it's fairly close to us. Will be a nice walk through the park when the weather gets better. Anyone else who fancies it, look out for me! (harrassed redhead with 14mo who has just learned to tantrum)

midnightexpress · 28/01/2008 18:01

Welcome to my world bookthief . Not sure what we're up to on Friday - ds1 a bit grotty at the moment, but might tootle along if we're feeling adventurous.

Good to meet you on Friday angel, hope you got home through the tempest OK. dd is gorgeous. I felt positively broody all weekend.

Trixy - we're off to view a flat in Burnside at the weekend. V exciting.

clu · 28/01/2008 23:29

hi all hope you are well hugs all round
lp77 is that the bounce n rhyme at partick library on a wednesday?

nothing much new here, Flat still a mess but I am enjoying Lily so much now she has been sleeping really well so being far more good natured during the day. We have also been swimming a lot, just got to wait for four months for the swimming classes. Not sure how strict they are but people do constantlt comment on how small she is so dont think I would get away with it.

jingly · 29/01/2008 12:46

Hi everyone, I'm new

My name's Julie and I live in Blantyre, I've got one son who was 3 in Nov and I;m due baby no 2 in early Aug. I work Mon-Thur at the moment - can't wait to go on mat leave - only 5 months to go!

Hope to meet up with some of you soon.

lillee · 29/01/2008 20:57

Hi ladies!

Welcome jingly, i'm new too - pleased to 'meet' you.

Anyone know what's happening with the meet up? Not much posted about it on here for a wee while.

Clu and IP77 i'm in West End too. Going to JoJingles with DS tomoro if anyone interested in going along too?

geordiemacminx · 29/01/2008 21:18

Hi Jingly - I'm in uddingston ds, 9 months

AngelKG77 · 29/01/2008 22:53

Hello to all! I've meant to post again sooner, but dd has been going through some kind of growth spurt/nipple addiction for the past few days and demanding fed once every hour or so - I'm exhausted!!! Having hard time feeding myself! She's asleep for the moment... ! (and if she hasn't gained at least a half pound at HV weigh-in tomorrow, i'll be shocked/cry/contemplate where it all went wrong/shake head and wonder if this is what was meant by my mother's threats of "someday you'll have one just like you"...!)

midnight - it was so nice to meet you on Friday - your boys are so adorable! And we were lucky enough to finish our feed just as the rain broke for a few minutes

as to the meet-up - wednesdays are actually my bad days - any other day of the week is great though...so...given directions we're happy to venture out in search of adult conversation and tea/coffee...(someday we'll even be big enough for play equipment... )...

clu · 29/01/2008 23:26

ah lillee I wouldve loved to but I offered to help at work a couple of days and the feckers took me up on it. so im working but i get to take my DD with me. Hi Jingly, welcome

lillee · 30/01/2008 00:01

Hey Clu! No worries bout that will meet some of you at some point i'm sure . At least you can take your lo with you so work shouldn't be so bad.

vio · 01/02/2008 14:27

hi everyone, I have a daft questions and wondering if any one of you can answer it. DHs got a big coat, one button fell off so is now missing, i want to know where i can get buttons in Glasgow? Black ones.

clu · 01/02/2008 16:58

err john lewis has a haberdashery (or something) co-op, remnant kings, whereabouts are you vio?

vio · 01/02/2008 19:34

stepps, i will go anywhere in glasgow to buy them as long as they sell them, I have no idea where i can get them from, have tried supermarkets but they dont sell buttons, also try Harry Corry, dont sell them, so wondering where i can get buttons?

geordiemacminx · 01/02/2008 19:35

John Lewis or Frasers is probably your best bet babes.

trixymalixy · 01/02/2008 19:41

There's a Mandors just behind the GFT.

Well I'm really not looking forward to going back to work now. Ds' first day at nursery was a bit of a disaster. They managed to get yoghurt on him, so I picked up a blotchy screaming baby.

I'm not sure what they fed him as he was absolutely shovelling food in his face starving when we got home.

They also didn't give him his dummy for his nap so he only had 45 mins sleep during the day.

I'm not happy!

geordiemacminx · 01/02/2008 19:43

Thats really bad about the yoghurt trixy - he has an allergy, its just the same as if he was allergic to nuts... did they have anything to say about it?

Sorry it didnt go well, I'm sure next time will be fine.

vio · 01/02/2008 19:45

ok, thanks,will try them.

geordiemacminx · 01/02/2008 19:57

I saw the pics on FB Vio.

Infact I forgot to tell you - I tore the ligaments in my knee on Saturday night whilst dancing.... not that I can remember

Am in agony now!!

karen999 · 01/02/2008 20:00

John Lewis is really good for buying buttons....
