GMM, you could maybe have ds2's thighs, they look scrumptious.

lillee · 21/01/2008 21:44

Hi everyone! Hi Geordiemacminx thanks for rerouting me from major cock-up! New to site too if you hadn't noticed and in Glasgow West End. Already responded on another thread but am up for meeting up too!

lalabelle · 21/01/2008 22:14

Hi EB here under a new guise!! Hello all and welcome Angel and lillee.

I can't make a meet up on the 6 feb as DD is having her operation that day - hopefully.

Still the house of the ill here, although she is a lot better than she was.

geordiemacminx · 21/01/2008 22:28

eb... Operation? Hope aa is starting to feel better and is fixed by the weekend. . We will be at bs on thursday. Seen any more houses? More importantly, have you got fil round to do jobs at your flat?

AngelKG77 · 21/01/2008 22:35

Thanks for the warm welcome! DD is sleeping at the moment (finally!!! ) so I can pop back on the computer again...at least for a moment or two...

I'm on the south side - in Shawlands. We're renting a flat for a year whilst we explore the area a little more and think about where we might want to buy/settle more permanently. Unfortuantely, as we arrived here when I was already as big as a house and 24 weeks pregnant, we didn't get out of the house much this autumn...so now that I can walk at a pace faster than a snail waddle, we should finally be able to start that exploring!

I'm up for a meetup whenever - we're not really scheduled these days and mmmmn steak - goes great with a side of cake

AngelKG77 · 21/01/2008 22:40

oh and geordie - yes she probably is the littlest baby - she was a wee 5lb 12oz at birth and dropped to 5lb 3 oz before we left hospital...up to a healthy 6lb 1oz on Thursday - but in my family babies are generally 9lb plus...I'm terrified I'm going to break her! poor little bug...she is the cutest little thing though - and I'm unbiased really !

weeonion · 21/01/2008 23:10

so angel - where are the pics of your newbie on your profile???

lalabelle · 21/01/2008 23:31

Yeah GMM she has a cleft of the soft palate so needs to get it fixed. Date keeps changing as she has been a wee ill bird this winter. Fingers crossed it goes ahead this time.

Saw another house near the one that you saw for us - not as nice inside and the garden is a lot smaller but 10 grand cheaper. Theres also one in winton gdns that looks ok too.

Rant now - we were meant to be storing all our excess stuff in fil's spare room, but now he says he needs a few weeks to get the room sorted - agrrrrrrrrrrh!! I'm just going to get some self storage for a few months as cannot be arsed with all the mucking about. No idea when we are going to get the kitchen finished - anyone know a good, cheapish joiner?

Presume BSensory was good then...?

Angel, talk of your wee tiny is making me broody - so lovely when they are tiny!

lillee · 21/01/2008 23:54

Hi Lalabelle thanks for the welcome . Just spent the past wee while reading the threads getting to know you all a bit. Hope your DD is well enough for the op so she can get it over with and be on the road to recovery. Sounds like you have loads going on at the same time too - you have my sympathies.

Hi Angel good to meet another newbie like myself! Def post pic of your lo so i can get broody too.

My ds is 14months now and missed his official 1st birthday in November due to tonsilitis and 41 temp. Had to have it week later and he's caught a few viruses since then too. Seems this had been a BAD winter for bugs.

Looking for something to do tomoro morning with my lo only busy on Wednesday with baby group - anyone going to playrooms or anything and wouldn't mind a tag along?

geordiemacminx · 22/01/2008 09:01

Found a fab play area in uddingston junglee fun

They have a baby area and a cafe... ding dang dong!!

midnightexpress · 22/01/2008 09:33

Angel - I'm just across the park from you. Have you been to the soft play/cafe in Queen's Park glasshouse? Or the Tramway? Both baby friendly (and tramway does good CAKE, though not steak, I fear).

Anyhoo, I'm around most days. Supposedly working weds and thurs mornings from home, but otherwise pretty flexible, so if you fancy meeting up for a coffee locally let me know. Tuesday mornings are particularly good, as ds1 is at nursery and I feel positively footloose and fancy free with only ds2 in tow. You can CAT me if you want to or contact me through this thread. I'm around most days on here at some point.

lalabelle · 22/01/2008 10:40

Morning all! Thanks for kind words lillee, sometimes I feel that my dd has been ill more than well for the past 3 months. Its so annoying as we do a lot of baby classes during the week and I hate missing them, as she loves them and its great to get out and speak to other mums. Hopefully she will be better after op and catch less things that are going around. I can only hope...

Gmm - had a look at soft play site - loving it. Are you going for annual membership? Do you think we could fit it in before baby sensory one week? If I ever get out again of course.

geordiemacminx · 22/01/2008 11:03

EB - Its best she gets all these things out of the way now - then she will be a healthy fit little girl!!!

Yeah, Junglee before BS sounds good, although I know you can pay per visit - think its about £3 or something? PLus they hae a cafe.....

TALLULAHBELLE · 22/01/2008 12:25

Hi all - on my way home. In Singapore as we speak. Has been really chatty on here recently so no hope of catching up. Just hope I haven't missed the meetup, especially with so many new folks to meet. Be great to see the new bubs - guess E not so little any more .

lillee · 22/01/2008 19:20

Evening! Anybody about? Think i was on here too late last night cos noone responded to my plea. As it happened my mother appeared from nowhere and sabbotaged our whole day! Oh and ds took his first unaided steps which was pretty amazing .How's your day been?

midnightexpress · 22/01/2008 19:59

hi lillee - 1st steps are great aren't they? DS2 nearly there - he stood up unaided the other day until he realised he wasn't holding anything and promptly fell over.

Am up to my neck in decorators and trying to herd the los away from wet paint/piles of displaced stuff/power tools, otherwise would have been happy to meet you. Once the chaos has cleared perhaps?

lillee · 22/01/2008 20:22

Hi Midnight! Yeah got a real buzz from the two steps before he lost his balance but its like every 'first' isn't it? Never ceases to bring joy and amaze. Sure your DS2 won't be far away from walking either?

Sounds like you have enough to keep you busy that's for sure! Deal with your chaos and then would be great to meet up ta

meep · 23/01/2008 09:12

Good morning from the East coast! I need to go and lurk on the boards to recruit some more from the east - all you ladies seem to be on the West!

Hi to Lillee (first steps, congratulations to you ds2!)!

and Hi to Angel and your wee baby!

Lol at all the broody ladies! I must confess that although I loved dd more than anything, I was not a fan of the newborn stage! I have decided that if I ever have another I will go back to work straight after the birth and take my maternity leave from around 4months (only joking!). We had a pretty tough start with dd - but it has got so so easy now that I just want to spend all my time with her!

Unfortunately I have now been back at work and it is rubbish! I miss her so much! And I feel so guilty for leaving her - does the guilt ever go away?!

Would have loved to come over to meet you all - and Wednesdays would be great (my day off) - but I have been booked for the next few months by friends and family all wanting to see dd on my day off!

AngelKG77 · 23/01/2008 20:33

hi all! ok, took me just a bit longer than i thought to figure out the "shrink the photo file" to a proper size to upload, but hooray - i did it!!! so there's a few photos of her ever-changing little face up on my profile now...and i'm again typing/performing all this one-handed...her favorite place to sleep is on my chest and as the poor thing has developed a wheezy head cold (not buying the "she's clearing birth mucus" excuse 3 weeks in), i'm inclined to let her nuzzle just as much as she wants...though can be found muttering under my breath at three am, "cherish these moments - in a few years she won't want to be cuddled..." (secretly hoping she'll always want to...)

lalabelle - hoping all goes well with your lo's operation! fingers crossed for you...

midnight - i haven't been to either yet, but would love to go explore...and i'm up for coffee anytime are you around on friday? perhaps we could plan something for then? (assuming your chaos is cleared anyway... not sure mine ever will be and no decorator to blame unfortunately ) will try to figure out the cat thing and send you message...

lilee - congrats on the first steps - how exciting!!! :O and wasn't on last night or would have been happy to meet you...

right, off to figure out if it's possible to cook dinner one-handed...(the thought of calling for take-away crosses mind as being most viable option... dunh dunh dunh...)

geordiemacminx · 23/01/2008 20:36

Angel - do you drive?

AngelKG77 · 23/01/2008 20:45

yes i do - though must admit still getting used to roundabouts - something america doesn't have except in new jersey...

AngelKG77 · 23/01/2008 20:47

(and no need for my one-handed dinner trial - dh woke up and tottered off the the kitchen - hooray!!!)

lillee · 23/01/2008 21:06

Evening ladies! Hope you are all well. I'm getting a bit addicted to this mallarkey i think!

Thanks meep and Angel for congrats to my gorgeous ds.

Oh and Angel - awwwwwwwww!your dd is beautiful, she looks really alert as well in those pics. Enjoy her as everyone else has probably said 'it all passes too quickly' and mine is only 14mths and i'm agreeing! By the way enjoy your dinner lucky thing wish my DH was around of an evening to feed me.

No probs bout noone replying only joking i didn't realise how late i was on here on Tuesday so you were all prob logged off.

geordiemacminx · 23/01/2008 21:08

I'm free next Wednesday, also probably heading to time twisters at the Gyle with a couple of other MN'ers on Tuesday if anyone fancies it.

midnightexpress · 23/01/2008 22:05

Friday would be good Angel. I am desperately trying to get the boys out of the decorator's path, so very much up for anything at the moment. ds1 is his biggest fan - spent yesterday afternoon trying to get him to sit on the carpet and play with his train set. He's slow enough without playing blimmin trains.

What on earth is time twisters GMM?
