My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

i paid a fortune for clark's wellies this time last year and dd's calves were too fat to get 'em on after a week or 2.

size 4.5 and unisex if anyone wants 'em!

then i paid about ten quid in sweden for the most funky pair which are about a 6.5 and also now grown out of. they're deffo chick wellies if anyone's keen on them!

now we're in a size 8 Peppa Pig pair which were £6 from Asda - bargain!

dd out like a light after her swim and hopefully will stay that will till about 2ish.

puddlejumping for us this arvo me-thinks altho if the rain stays off we might try the bike....

Paddlechick666 · 16/10/2007 13:14

CoV you can get an antiseptic cream at boots that has a very mild numbing effect that's good for that sort of thing.

sj, glad to hear ds's eyes are okay.

good luck with the adult swim lessons. get enough of you and might be able to form your own class at a reasonable price.

SJ99 · 16/10/2007 13:15

Hey PC - If I don't get any wellies tom can I try your old ones? DS is a 4.5-5 depending on which shop you go to.

stepfordwife · 16/10/2007 13:17

poor lad, cov

now you're talking, foxie, would deffo be up for belly dance classes

sure CM will be fine by tomorrow. both her children today - (including gherkin) at home unwell and she was feeling a bit dodgy so just think she wants to nip it in the bud.

luckily not on deadline this week, so i'm happy to accommodate..she's been pretty flexible with me already.
had alreday switched one of my days to thurs this week so i can go on ds2's school trip to the national gallery.

stepfordwife · 16/10/2007 13:19

sj, glad ds' eyes are ok. remind me how old he is?
god, the girleen is demanding lunch...

SJ99 · 16/10/2007 13:32

He's 22mths. The past 2 mths he sometimes flickers and scrunches up his eyes. It happened too many times for me to ignore it and I thought he might have a squint and suspect he may need to wear glasses at some point as it runs in the family.

HV confirmed no squint but suggested I get his eyes tested just in case. Optician reckons it's a case of eye muscles flickering when tired/strained. She said if it starts occuring regularly then to come back but otherwise no probs with his vision, phew. If it's not one thing, it's another with these LO's! Enjoy your lunch

Paddlechick666 · 16/10/2007 13:33

sj, no worries re: wellies

CovenOVeneer · 16/10/2007 13:34

I put bonjela on it and it seems to have done the trick

SJ99 · 16/10/2007 13:47

Thanks PC Maybe I can pop round one evening and pick them up. Will be nice to see you also! Not sure if DH is out tonight or tom, will check and see when suits you

Cov - hurray for Bonjela, hope DS feels better soon

Paddlechick666 · 16/10/2007 13:50

hi sj, i'm WFH tomorrow so it you just wanted to swing by and collect them that'd be fine.

SushiMummy · 16/10/2007 14:03

QC, how about 11 or after your DS's nap? If anyone wants to join us, you are all welcome, too. (Well, those who visited CoV's fab house, my house is tiny and very untidy in comparison!)

CovenOVeneer · 16/10/2007 14:06

Sushi only the top floors are tidy, the floor below the living room is a state, unpacked boxes laundry stands and as for the playroom . I have to tackle it this week as my sister is coming to stay soon and as dh has taken over a bedroom for his study we use the playroom as a guest room (have a sofa bed).

SushiMummy · 16/10/2007 14:17

Well, CoV, I've already decided that you are Martha Stewart of England (except for her financial mishap) with your culinary skills and the tastful home decoration.

CovenOVeneer · 16/10/2007 14:18

Thankyou . Actually I am trying to persuade Steppy to give up her nickname

rosmonster · 16/10/2007 14:33

Right ds is awake, so am going to head to the Kew shoe shop and see what they're like!

Kewcumber · 16/10/2007 14:34

Sushi - I'm sure 11 will be fine - I don;t have a tidiness gene so won;t notice what state your house is in.

QC, great! See you on Sat.

SJ99 · 16/10/2007 14:41

Hi PC - tom am is good timing, will call in on way back from Tesco maybe around 10.30am. Hope that's ok.

Thanks for invite Sushi but cannot make this Sat. Have fun though

Starry would like to go to Kew to check out new ELC but 12.30-4pm is no good for us as DS naps then, another time maybe...

bunyanvillas · 16/10/2007 15:53

Foxie yes to swimming lessons. Am 3 months pregnant and need to get fit. But then that's another reason for not wanting to get in the pool as I don't look pregnant, am just at that "overweight" looking stage! But yes, safety in numbers let's do it ha! The other reason for not enjoying the pool is being unable to see very far beyond the end of my own nose without my much-needed specs!!

Paddlechick666 · 16/10/2007 16:18

well howdy doooody bunyan! congratulations

sj, just checked my work diary and it's clear around then so that's fine.

just cycled along the river to cambridge park and negotiated all the bike barriers along duck walk without killing myself or decapitating dd!

am getting more adventurous now. would love to cycle to kew and think i could from a proficiency point of view but not sure my legs and butt could cope LOL.

this child better be a-bed quicksmart tonight. swimming, bike rides and playground all in one day!

mind you, i really can't complain she generally goes down so well these days.

watch now and that'll be the kybosh put on tonight

sfxmum · 16/10/2007 16:20

congratulations Bunyan

give it a couple of months with the ones already pregnant and success for those trying (fingers crossed) there will be a proper west London antenatal club.

a bit more order here but it only showed how much I really need to organize
bad housekeeper award for me!

sfxmum · 16/10/2007 16:27

that sounds fantastic paddle I am sure I will pay for having stayed in all day

rosmonster · 16/10/2007 16:36

congratulations bunyan

Paddle, I really need to get motivated and confident to take ds out on the bike. I reckon I could also cycle to Kew, I'm just not confident enough yet!

Paddlechick666 · 16/10/2007 16:40

sfx, i think i'll pay the price for having gone out so much! am feeling whacked now lol.

ros, truth be told it's taken me nearly a year to get that bike out with dd on the back on my own! i'd only ridden with friends last year in norfolk before.

mind you, so much easier when they're a bit bigger and more able to understand instructions like "sit still" etc. i never thought I'd keep the bike upright whilst getting dd in and out of the seat but i just lean it up against a wall or railings etc.

we should meet up at syon one day and have a pootle around.

Paddlechick666 · 16/10/2007 16:56

ps: sfx, you going to learn to ride a bike then?
