My mum just arrived and let herself in. Apparenty DS rang her whilst I was in the shower and didn;t hang up so she couldn't call back to check I was OK. She arrived thinking I had fallen down the stairs and instructed DS to call (he's not actually smart enough yet to understand numbers!)

Better than the police I guess.

So, worth putting a few quid on Leonard Junior for a place in the 2027 World Cup squad?

Which mini-rugby team do your DSs play in? DS is obviously too young at the moment but we're thinking ahead to mini-rugby (as the school he'll probably be going to doesn't do rugby) and have no idea how to find a good team (good in terms of ethos and staff rather than just results). I know Rosslyn Park and Richmond have them, but further than that I know not.

lemonaidtreasonandplot · 05/11/2007 14:55

19 weeks, apparently (first time round I could have told you down to the day and, virtually, minute... this time I have to look it up or count on my fingers). Urk! Nearly halfway through!

lemonaidtreasonandplot · 05/11/2007 14:56

Actually (digging further) lots of Mumsnetters appear to have used, and been very happy with, Action Station.

Their storytelling parties start from age 4 so I'll have to wait another year for DS, but I've firmly bookmarked them for myself now...

Paddlechick666 · 05/11/2007 15:31

lemonaidtreasonandplot · 05/11/2007 15:43

Lots and lots and lots. We paid a blinking fortune last time we moved. Mind you, it took them twice as long as they'd expected to move us (we were only going 300 yards or so) so I think we actually did quite well against the amount it would have cost if they'd totted it up properly. And all the quotes we got were fairly close (well, varied from "lots and lots" to "lots and lots and lots and lots").

Hello, slink!

sfxmum · 05/11/2007 15:56

CoV it was very kind of you to bring over DS2's coat and nice to see you too Glad your trip to Ikea wasn't too nightmarish. Make sure you get plenty of rest while you recover this week.

Ooops

rosmerta · 05/11/2007 17:09

Hi all, just popping in quickly while my mum gives ds his tea! I've not read over the last couple of days because my dad's pc is the slowest thing in the world! No doubt by the time I've written this and its posted the thread will have jumped a mile ahead!

How were the fireworks? We had some little ones in the garden for ds who varied between 'wow' and 'I don't like those ones'! Ds is also enjoying being at his grandparents - now added 'nana' and 'gaga' (which is quite accurate for my dad actually!) to his repetoire!

Anyway, hope you're all well and will catch up properly when I'm back down sarf on Thursday!

PS: Paddle, my guess is probably around £1500? But yes, we got lots of different quotes v similar to Lemonaid's!

MrsRecycle · 05/11/2007 17:39

I'm here! Although I'm feeling a bit sore and battered. The biopsy went fine and I had a really nice consultant who explained everything and is sure it is benign. He took three samples so will find out next Tuesday. But I'm trying to stay positive.

Car broke down yesterday (managed to get to Clacket Lane services Foxie) so we got towed home. It turned out the ignition module that they replaced last week was faulty. So the garage replaced it FOC and put in a new set of plugs as well.

pc - knowing my dh's company around £2k. Your best bet is a man with a van - they charge per hour and are just as good.

ros - glad to hear ds is talking - congrats on posting .

Well dh has just got back from picking ds up from cm's so I best go.

Thanks for all you wishes and hugs. Will post again tomorrown

ComeOVeneer · 05/11/2007 18:07

Pleased to here the biopsy went well MrsR, and positive vibes heading your way for a good outcome. PITA about the car though. We have had the misfortune of breaking down at least twice with recently done work related causes. Once we went to pick the car up from having work done and half way down the road dh realised that heis seatbelt hadn't been reconnected to the floor, so would have been totally useless in a crash .

guyfoxsetsparlaimentalight · 05/11/2007 18:11

So far so good MrsR - I'm certain it will be benign

Everything crossed and paying for you

Ros _LO at your description of your Dad as "gaga" tee hee!! Well done your cute Ds for his words

Can anyone spot the difference (a hidden R)

SJ99 · 05/11/2007 18:18

LOL Foxie getting trigger happy on the send button

Good news Mrs R, fingers crossed the rest goes well.

PC - man with van might be a good option, removals are NEVER cheap

Hi Ros on dad's PC

Hi Slink

Neighbours having firework in back garden, DS a little jumpy - great timing close to his bedtime Hope he goes to bed alright, I wanted to head out to gym tonight...

ComeOVeneer · 05/11/2007 18:21

Paying for what?

sfxmum · 05/11/2007 19:10

mrsR that is good to hear about the biopsy keeping fingers crossed for you. how long until a result?

Kewcumber · 05/11/2007 20:26

Biopsy sounds positive MrsR but you won;t be entirely convinced until the results are back will you! In my experience consultants err of the cautious side so he's probably pretty sure its benign.

Swimming was a cautious success Paddle - DS was very distressed by some of it (floating on back) and was a lot more uncomfortable in the water than the other kids (except the one who screamed non-stop from beginning to end !) However he was the only one who leapt with gay abandon from the side into my arms - so some stuff he's very comfortable with! Have decided that I ned to take him on Fridays as well to practice what they do so if anyone fancies swimming at around 11ish on friday - I'll be there.

ExpLEUSIveS · 05/11/2007 21:40

Oh shit. Biopsy. I missed that, but it does sound positive. Cyber hugs for you MrsR.
