For when the August thread runs out.

much sympathy paddle that is awful

cov hope you feel better soon

mrsR thinking of you

Kewcumber · 11/10/2007 09:52

Good luck MrsR

Sorry Paddle - I hate being sick - at least you haven't got DD to deal with

SushiMummy · 11/10/2007 10:54

Morning all.

Hope all went well at hospital, MrsR.

Paddle, you have my sympathies. Hope you get better soon.

Foxie, v glad your DD is well.

CoV, hope you make a quick recovery, too!

LOL sfx. Well, after a couple of tests suggesting both fallopian tubes being blocked/clogged, I was convinced natural conception was impossible. Cuddling a newborn and wrapping myself up could do wonders!

Paddlechick666 · 11/10/2007 10:59

thanks for the sympathy everyone. i am wrapped up in my dressing gown, got the heating on and just watched Jeremy Vile!

seems my weekend visitors all went down with the lurgy on monday so sounds like it's a virus. just hope dd doesn't get it too otherwise poor Grandma will be dealing with it.

have had 2 pieces of toast and things seem okay.

MrsR, really hope things go okay today.

Foxie, glad dd is back on form. it's maybe the same bug but the exhaustion of starting school must've made it last longer.

sfx, how's things with you?

MrsRecycle · 11/10/2007 12:03

Foxie - glad to hear dd is much better. pc - sorry to hear you are not too well. But enjoy the chocolate.

THANK YOU for all your wishes - it is really nice of all of you. Well I'm sitting here in tears at the moment, I turned up nice and early, saw my old consultant, he said "nothing to worry about" but we'll do a mamogram and if that's ok you can go. Have mamogram and then they call me back and say I need a scan. Had a scan where scanogropher was really quiet and concentrating on the area that really hurt. She said she would pass the results to the consultant and I spent the next 15 minutes shaking like a leaf. Saw the consultant and he wants to do a biopsy close to the area that the lump was removed from. But I need to speak to the X Ray man first and he is going to ring me tomorrow afternoon.

I've been in this situation twice before and all was okay, so why am I crying. I've told them I don't want the op until after my holiday (a week on Tuesday) as I don't want to have the added worry of infection whilst I'm away. He said that's fine, he'll do it afterwards. I can't drive for 3 weeks afterwards so that means my boss will have to work out a way for me to work from home. And yes, I really do want to carry-on working as it takes my mind off things. Mad aren't I??

lemonaid · 11/10/2007 12:15

Sorry you're still up in the air over this, MrsR. I guess if they were really, really worried they'd want to do the biopsy right away rather than wait? So chances are it'll all be OK again... but I'd be a nervous wreck, I know.

rosmonster · 11/10/2007 12:16

Oh MrsR, (((((hugs)))), it sounds like you've got some good people at the clinic and I'm sure you're going to be ok.

Foxie - glad dd is back on form!

Paddle - hope you get better soon.

We had a pretty horrible night, up and down with ds and then our cat died at about 4am. So am feeling v tired and v .

MrsRecycle · 11/10/2007 12:22

oh no ros - your poor cat. you are right lemon - they would have me in right away. thanks for reassurence, feeling a bit better.

eleusis · 11/10/2007 12:29

Oh no, Mrs R. I'm sure it will all be okay, but still very unsettling experience I'm sure.

If you want to get your mind off of it and have a good laugh, see this very funny thread.

Kewcumber · 11/10/2007 12:31

Ros - so sorry about your cat - dread something happening to one of mine.

MrsR the uncertaiaty is awful, though I do think Lemon is right about the lack of urgency. Perfectly normal to be upset, why wouldn't you be? I've had two biopsies uterus and cervix, one of which they had braced me for being positive I remember the horrible feeling of having to wait well even almost 10 yrs later.

Hope you can ignore it and enjoy your holiday. where are you going btw?

foxensteinscreature · 11/10/2007 12:32

MrsR - will ring you.

Did the area hurt? If so, that's a very good sign. They are probably just taking precautions, which is reassuring in itself. Agree that they would rush you for the biopsy if theywere really worried.

[hugs]

sfxmum · 11/10/2007 12:33

mrsR {{hugs}} I am sorry you are going through this worrying time. fingers crossed you will get the all clear. it is good to know they are being so prompt.
I am sure work helps keep your mind off things

ros- sorry about your night and your cat.

ComeOVeneer · 11/10/2007 12:47

MrsR, I'm sure it will be good news but it is still very scarey (have had 3 lumps removed, first one at 18, my mother 5 and my aunt 2).

Ros so sorry to hear about the cat, was it old/ill?

bunyanvillas · 11/10/2007 12:47

Mrs Recycle, sending you hugs and good wishes. Holiday is a good idea, where are you off to? Sorry, Rosmerta, to hear about your cat

MrsRecycle · 11/10/2007 12:55

Tenerife for some sunshine and sangria! COV - my frist scare was at 18, but they only removed the lump two years go. I want that magic wand now to say everything is ok.

foxie - there's a dull ache and a discharge. Mind you it bloody hurts at the mo (though not as much as bf'ing) where they compressed it for the mamo.

Yes you certainly cannot fault Hillingdon hospital for their promptness (again!).

SushiMummy · 11/10/2007 13:33

Oh MrsR.(((((hugs))))) I hope things will turn out to be alright for you.

Ros, so sorry to hear about your cat.

stepfordwife · 11/10/2007 13:34

hi everyone

what a worry for you, mrsR, but, yep, if they were really worried you'd be in now having a biopsy. but it's the "waiting" that plays tricks with your mind, isn't it.
a lump i had earlier this year turned out to be an infected blocked milk duct.

also, after breastfeeding - especially several babies - and once you're in your 40s,the breast tissue starts breaking down and forming uneven pockets.

rose, sorry about your cat what have you told ds?

hope you feel better soon, paddle. at least you haven't got dd sitting on your head!
toodlepip

Kewcumber · 11/10/2007 14:08

am I the only wierdo who put the "sorry about the cat" before the "sorry" to MrsR!

rosmonster · 11/10/2007 14:09

thanks everyone, it was half expected & half not iyswim. I don't think ds has even noticed he's not around tbh!

eleusis · 11/10/2007 14:58

Yes, Kew, you are the only weirdo on this thread.

Sorry about the cat, Ros. (and sorry about not reading that earlier. I skimmed the thread andd missed that bit)

Also, just wanted to let everyone know I had an e-mail from 2cute yesterday. She said she'd probably be in touch in a few weeks when things calm down a bit. I think her family is still staying with her.

What is happening with the Kew membership? Have we given that to her yet?

Paddlechick666 · 11/10/2007 15:20

hi all

MrsR, hope you're doing okay. I guess even if you've had something like this before it's still a shock and scary. Lemon speaks wisely tho eh, if they're happy to sit tight till after your hols. Big {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} to you.

Ros, sorry to hear about the cat too. Will you get a new kitten d'you think?

I'm spending the arvo on the lounge and watching recorded episodes of Brothers & Sisters. Mind keeps wandering to what to do for DD's tea when she gets home etc but she's not coming home till Saturday!

Hope she doesn't get the lurgy too tho!

rosmonster · 11/10/2007 15:35

Ele, thanks for letting us know about 2cute. I had emailed her but I'll leave it now until she gets in touch I think.

Paddle - I don't think we will get another one. We'd had Woody for about 7yrs and it just doesn't seem right. Plus Woody and ds never really got on and I don't think its fair to try to introduce a new pet if we end up having to take it back again.

MrsRecycle · 11/10/2007 16:13

ele -thanks for pointing to that thread - just what I needed, really cheered me up (although made me cry again - with laughter this time).

Am a bit more happier now - thanks for the chat foxie, I really did appreciate it. The more I think about (and I really should stop) the more I think I've got an absus on my duct. It was the way she scanned me and kept on going up and down my ducts, the same way that I used to stimulate my milk when bf.

sfxmum · 11/10/2007 17:15

we have been sampling the delights of ECL inside mothercare today (sounds scary)

dd spent ages banging on a xylophone
playing on a piano
playing a recorder
playing with a dolls house
playing with a huge car garage
drawing on a chalk board
and generally wearing herself out

then we went to playground and walk by the river and jump in muddy puddles, it is actually quite lovely outside.

I hope she sleeps well tonight!

rosmonster · 11/10/2007 17:27

sfx - we've been there too. Obviously ELC is much better makes more money than the cafe & activities
