For when the August thread runs out.

Paddle - what is "friend finder"?

Yingers74 · 22/09/2007 21:39

kew, can you send me your email so I can make a paypal contribution? thanks

hope everyone is good, have been ultra busy this week as dd2 has a cold and has a tendency to respond to all illnesses with vomiting at night. Dr just keeps telling me she's fine but there must be a reason why she does this! Some sort of weakness in the stomach area but how to help her I have no idea.

facebook - is a lot of fun but it does also add to your list of things to do!

Paddlechick666 · 22/09/2007 21:40

go to the friends tab then go to the Find Friends tab above your list of friends.

you can choose your local email program or your hotmail/yahoo/google webmail application etc..........

sfxmum · 22/09/2007 21:51

cheers for info on Facebook, I expect I will use it to look up some people but not really add them as friends. is that naughty? I am curious

I like the idea of leaving messages which are not as public as on here.

Yingers does your dd have skin problems as well? someone I know has a dd with skin problems which also links to digestive system.

paddle - they are truly gorgeous at this walking talking stage, like lemonaid said with those mad toddler chats and like steppie said not quite out of babyness but already showing their personality.
we spend dinner just giggling at what she come out with.

Paddlechick666 · 22/09/2007 21:57

she is ultra cute even tho i am biased!

every morning when i go in the conversation is:

"ello mummy"
"hello sweetheart, did you have an nice sleep"
"yes mummy, love you mummy, OUT!"
"did you have nice dreams?"
"yes mummy, OUT!"
as i lift her from the cot:
"what did you dream sweetheart?"
"An egg"

cracks me up every time!

sfxmum · 22/09/2007 22:05

oh mini paddle
mine was apparently hitting dolphins a couple of nights ago

must drag her out tomorrow maybe to kew if not raining, dh will be working so he can take tuesday off.
these days the grandparents aunties and cousins call just to talk to her we get completely ignored

Kewcumber · 22/09/2007 22:06

apparently DS is scared of ice cubes! Discovered this afternoon. I mean scared, terrified not scaredslightly nervous. What is that all about? [baffled emoticon]

lemonaid · 22/09/2007 22:08

Scared of contact with them or just scared of them as a concept (e.g. would he go loopy if there were one on the table several feet away)?

Kewcumber · 22/09/2007 22:11

scared of the look of them (was ice in his apple juice as I didn't occur to me that they would put any in - spot the woman who doesn't go to pubs very often now!). I fished one out to show him it was nothing and he freaked. Even mummy touching it (normally does the trick) didn't convincehim. Have no idea what he thought it was but obviously something radioactive. This not speaking lark is getting to be a bit frustrating for both of us...

sfxmum · 22/09/2007 22:13

dd has a various times been scared of odd things generally for short periods of time and mostly I have no warning no idea where it comes from and she can really freak out.
then a week later not even bat an eyelid

sfxmum · 22/09/2007 22:34

so I can see this Facebook thing can become addictive and I have to learn another lingo again

best go to bed I think

Yingers74 · 22/09/2007 23:30

sfx - she always has small spots on her face but I am not sure whethere you would class it as skin probs!!! And on face book you can look people up but if you don't add them as friends you cannot really see anything! Look me up if you can! Although not sure you know my real name! I can then turn you into a vampire and we can fight!

sfxmum · 22/09/2007 23:45

Yingers - a la spike and angel, but a bit less girly? sounds cool (is that what old people say? oh dear)

the child I was talking about has eczema and food allergies so maybe not but her mum knows about such things maybe I can point her in your direction she is on MN

stepfordwife · 23/09/2007 09:20

morning all
facebook sounds a bit trendy to me. is for "the youngsters"????
better resist, i do not need another distraction in my "working" days...

paddle, sorry, didn't see your post you were knocking around my manor,as we were in (nursing a very rare cold)
did you get dd's shoes fron one little step, whatever's it called. they had a good sale, but suppose that's over now.

kew, in a pub? good lord...
heading out soon as dd needs a runaround. she's just done a lovely job cleaning her brothers' bunk bed with cif...hmmm. nice fresh smell for them tonight.
will be heading for retail park as dd needs some sort of jacket,so will drop the £10 off.

have a fab day, everyone
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 23/09/2007 09:22

...don't mean a straitjacket, btw. mind you...

sfxmum · 23/09/2007 10:02

lol at cif job dd seems obsessed with cleaning the hob these days strange child

off to kew soon, I hope anyone up for it?
I think dd will need a nap today

sfxmum · 23/09/2007 10:03

comma in the wrong placedoes change the meaning somewhat

Paddlechick666 · 23/09/2007 10:11

i think i'm going to head for kew this arvo.

forgot a load of stuff in my tesco shop yesterday so a return trip required

QC, sorry missed your call. I was upstairs....

steppie, yep that's the one. unfortunately nothing in the sale in her size so mega bucks but they are great shoes. we're having a bit of a sniffle this end too so would've been perfect time to pop in.

went to see foxie and cubs instead

for some reason, today is dragging and i have no motivation to do anything. least of all meet dd's constant demands

sfxmum · 23/09/2007 11:32

at long last we are off, I think...

foxcub · 23/09/2007 12:02

Hiya - I'll be up for Kew this arvo too hopefully Paddle what time - ish? sfx - fancy a return trip to Kew this arvo with us? I miss chatting with your DD!

Just managed to get to mass on my own with three kids, take them to the loo during mass, help DD write half the alphabet during mass, take them to Kew retail park and get loads of shopping. Now awaiting DS2's commands when he wakes up

Paddlechick666 · 23/09/2007 12:18

lordy foxie, you're an Alpha Mummy and, looking rather stunning. Shame we're now both too slim for any clothes swapping!

DD is having lunch now and will nap till about 2ish then we'll get on over to Kew.

she's looking so cute in her new shoes.

Paddlechick666 · 23/09/2007 13:34

i am absolutely and totally fed up!

how on earth can one leafy suburban street be so fecking noisy!

Friday night it was the lads down the road yelling around.

Last night it was the psycho witch and her wimpy boyfriend shagging.

At other times it's the 5am OCD car door slammer. The 4am Milk Float. The other psycho over the road or the family who regularly depart for holidays at 3am and let their 7yr old yell up the street. Not to mention psycho next door's all night Oasis fests sprinkled with a liberal helping of screaching like a fish wife.

DD has had a 30 minute nap because the only time the bloke next door EVER does any DIY is nap time and bedtime! And if he's not doing any DIY then his wife is hoovering and dragging furniture around.

FFS! DO NOT BUY A VICTORIAN TERRACE EVER! The walls are like paper.

foxcub · 23/09/2007 13:50

at your neighbours paddle

Paddlechick666 · 23/09/2007 14:02

honestly foxie, i've had it with this street.

tolerance levels are pretty low with me anyways so i am probably over-reacting in some ways. then again, seriously, there isn't a night that goes by without something going on in the street.

not having double-glazing isn't helping i suppose.

am sure the neighbours have their fair share of dd's noise and my occasional flashes of frustration with her but i try to be considerate.

i think these houses must be abnormal tho. if i don't have the TV on and am just reading i can hear next door's tv clearly. and to be fair, it's not on loudly.

now dd will be grumpy thru lack of sleep. coupled with my grumpyness am sure the rest of the day will be a joy!

leaving for kew shortly.........
