or pissed off with him even, oh this is hard work

foxcub · 27/09/2007 17:21

I'd like to jog with you (in my dreams). I have been jogging along with the buggy this week and really enjoying it

I can't jog without the buggy though, as I need it, to hold me up.

sfxmum · 27/09/2007 17:24

is that an inner ear thing of course you can, get proper shoes and a good bra

Paddlechick666 · 27/09/2007 19:46

evening all

i spoke to 2cute earlier and we had a quick chat. she said thanks for coming on tuesday. she remembered seeing us but said it was all a bit of a blur, unsurprisingly.

she's going away for a few days so we arranged to speak next thursday.

i sent all our love and support.

sfxmum · 27/09/2007 20:30

thanks for letting us know paddle

rosmerta · 27/09/2007 20:48

Thanks paddle

Does anyone fancy meeting up on Sunday? If the weather's nice I might go to Kew or whoever wants to meet (if anyone!) are welcome round mine. I will provide cake and biscuits if that can tempt you

mellow2 · 28/09/2007 08:22

Hello all,

I had a quick scan and I'm happy to chip in extra for a Kew membership. I think it's a good idea to buy 2cute a membership.

It's tragic that 2cute's dh died so young and so suddenly. .

PC,
Thanks for posting the reason for his sudden demise.

PC,
Don't feel guilty about missing dd's birthday. In the long run the extra cash from your 'promotion' will benefit dd and there will be many more birthdays to come.

Anyway work has calmed down somewhat and I'm not working till all hours of the morning anymore.

I've missed the thread and meeting up with people. But hopefully, I'll be able to do some of that in December as the contract finishes in end November.

sfxmum · 28/09/2007 09:29

morning all

hi mellow nice to see you around, looking forward to a meet up, dd was talking about yours yesterday

Ros - not sure about weekend plans yet, Saturday I have family here and will let dh decide on Sunday, if he wants time alone I will be up for a meet

foxie - counting down the daysdo you have your work outfits sorted?

hope everyone is ok

foxcub · 28/09/2007 09:45

Hiya!!

I'm feeling mucho crappo this morning. I got severely rained on, on Monday morning (had to use my raincoat to cover DS2 as I'd neglecetd to bring buggy cover out with me). All sniffy and weak [hugs to myself]

Rose - I have my book club on Saunday - or as DH calls it, my "drinking club"

sfx - I have some trainers now and a sports bra - all though not sure if big milky boobs will fit into it!! Will have to try it on again (I love sports bras)

I am going to wear something very simple and comfy next week. I was window shopping for a black pinstripe trendy trouser suit last week - which is laughable because I never wear suits at work - even when we have a board meeting I'll just wear a smart skirt/trousers and a neat cardi. I feel like someone just about to start their first job!! - or maybe jst an excuse to buynew clothes eh?

Mellow really nice to see you back again and hope all is well. Let me know if you get any shampoo samples in

Paddle - thanks for phoning 2cute and updating us. It must be very wierd for her being at home without her DH. A break is probably what she needs.

quokka · 28/09/2007 11:09

Hi foxy hope your better for work !

Mellow haven't heard from you in ages, I'm going to KL next week. Have booked my baby massage instructor course and am even being adventurous and catching the train back .

ComeOVeneer · 28/09/2007 11:11

Morning all, foul weather here today. Have the house to myself as ds is at nursery. It is still weird it being so quiet, haven't got used to it, but get loads done and I love it when I go and pick him up as he is really happy to see me but has clearly had a blast.

Not avaliable this weekend for a meet up as dh has the car tomorrow for golf and my parents are up for lunch on Sunday. Actually apart from weekend meetups are getting a little tricky for me as with ds at nusery 3 mornings a week and dd at school those days are out bevause of picking up/dropping off etc, wednesday ds has classes so it only leaves Mondays now.

Kust got the Kew newsletter this morning and was reading about the ice rink. Is it any good? DD really wants to try it this year (I believe there is also one at Hampton court?)

quokka · 28/09/2007 11:15

I need help with names for my new little empire !

rosmerta · 28/09/2007 12:09

I hope you enjoy the course quokka, sounds great! Can't think of any names though, sorry!

Well, the heating has come back in the rosmerta household and ds has gone out with 4 layers on! But he does have a bit of a cold and cough.

foxcub · 28/09/2007 12:29

Quokka - can't think of any names yet but will ponder over the weekend. Well done for getting the course organised so quickly? How is life there now - have you settled in?

CoV IKWYM - I have between 2-4 school runs each day and its really tricky trying to fit anything in between them isn't it? So much for being a SAHM - more like a School run Mum !!

OK have a cleaner coming on Monday - have booked her for 3 hrs.

Qhat should I be asking her to do in that 3 hours then girls? I'd like to know what other people's cleaners do in 3 hrs....

ideas please?

Thanks

sfxmum · 28/09/2007 12:36

'soothing hands on tiny tums'? lacks imagination I know

oh a cleaner!I am just so inept at that.

rosmerta · 28/09/2007 12:45

Foxy, we used to have a cleaner for 2hrs and she would wash up, vacuum the whole house, mop the floors, clean the bathroom & kitchen and dust and polish.

slng · 28/09/2007 12:45

Did I hear "cleaner"!? I need a cleaner too! I used to have one who comes once every fortnight for two hours to dust, hoover, mop and clean the bathroom. Not sure if very effective, but I HATE cleaning... (Also hopeless at giving instructions ...)

Foxcub - are you using agency cleaner?

Paddlechick666 · 28/09/2007 13:02

foxie my cleaner comes for 3 hours and

cleans kitchen top to bottom incl floor and empties bin. washes anything up that's left. re-organises condiments, oils and spices in size order a la OCD tendancies.

hoovers and mops the rest of the ground floor, dusts and tidies. arranges all dd's soft toys on the lounge so they look like they're at the movies!

hoovers stairs and landing.

cleans bathroom top to bottom incl floor.

hoovers and dusts dd's room.

hoovers and dusts my room and puts new bedding on (i strip bed first).

ad-hoc activities include organsing any loose change in size order (see earlier OCD comment) and re-turning the radio to Heart or something equally vomit inducing!

i LOVE MY CLEANER!!

foxcub · 28/09/2007 13:19

Paddle PMSL at your cleaner's OCD tendencies!!

Does she want to clean my house too?

I'm not sure about this one. I said what can you do in 3 hrs and she said "I can clean your kitchen". "Oh, and I might be able to help with the toilet". She spends 10 hrs a week cleaning next door's house - which implies she is very slow and that they may have more money than sense!!!

Does your cleaner have any spare hours?

I think agency cleaner's would prob be more expensive.

Rose your former cleaner sounds good too.

hmm - not sure about this one really. She seemed slightly "difficult". I asked her to pop round for 5 minutes to have a look and she said "I can't do it today, I am very busy" (she is next door). I said, "well, how about Monday then?"

Her: "I am working until 12 and need an hour break, therefore I will start cleaning for you at 2pm on Monday"

It was just her manner - I do not want to be bossed by my cleaner!! My neighbour said she works slowly but is very good (if you have £80 per. week to spend on cleaning I guess)

Anyone else got a cleaner I can share???

foxcub · 28/09/2007 13:21

On second thoughts, I think I need a wife rather than a cleaner

rosmerta · 28/09/2007 13:43

My cleaner was good but I had to be very specific about what she needed to do. Unfortunately she left & went back to Poland!

Yingers74 · 28/09/2007 13:44

cov - i cannot believe you volunteered for all those positions at your dd's school. Not sure whether you are really good or a little crazy!

I just got back from a coffee morning which was far more fun than I anticipated, I really expected that I would have to start coughing and make my excuses after 10 mins but ended up staying over two hours - poor host!

I am not a great cleaner but I do my best and then my mum comes round, shakes her head, tuts and then does it all again but better!

slng · 28/09/2007 13:53

I've never used agency cleaner - prefer cleaner to pocket hard-earned cash. But I'm getting desperate ... I'm contemplating tempting TVU students... Maybe a notice in the student union (if I can find it)? However, parents staying at the moment, so house completely spotless and garden completely weed-free! Three cheers for parents! But not realistic to wait 18 months between cleaning ...

MrsRecycle · 28/09/2007 14:02

foxie - my cleaner drives - I'll ask her if she wants to come over your way. She does my whole 4 bedroom house in 3 hours and that includes sorting out my cupboards (so I can't find anything!) cleaning my windows, changing the sheets (as needed). The best £20 a week anyday. She's a lovely English lady whose dds are teenagers now.

sfxmum · 28/09/2007 14:09

aargh dd has this new thing of keeping food in her cheeks like a hamster for HOURS!

it is making me a little loopy
