Any one fancy big picnic type meet up? Cannon Hall perhaps? Shall we throw some ideas about?

Here's mine - Cannon Hall, once school breaks up but before 18th August! Any weekeday fine for me in hols!

Phoenix/Gingermonkey etc- stop swearing or using " distasteful" language on your thread as my school system won't let me on because of it!!

Hello Stinky, how are you?? Haven't seen you on here for ages. Wed 25th, looking like Roundhay Park perhaps for big meet up.

Is your DS starting school this Sept? We are having a huge stressy time at mo as just can't sort out child care for our as he can start part time in Sept and there are just no childminders around here who will pick up from school. DH has given up his teaching job to concentrate on his web design ( plus supply teaching to bring in some real money!) and I am working part time from Sept in my lovely new job {grin} so at least it is a bit flexible.

Sorry, hijack there!

hi pheonix - i look at it occassionally, but you all move so quickly, i never seem to catch up now i'm back at work .
i seem to remember pics of your little one recently - he looked fab. i've dropped of my post natal group cos dd's not reaching any milestones and it was getting a bit depressing reading how everyone's crawling, cruising etc and we've no sign.

Northerner, we are in Flockton, between Wakefield and Huddersfield. I had no idea that it was going to be such a pain trying to find a childminder - we should just be able to juggle it with me working part time, Dh doing supply and my parents helping out, but come January once he is full time we will have to work something out. Were on phone to admissions people today and there are places in next village school where there are plenty childminders, but had really wanted him to be part of village here.

Sorry, Stinky again - DS is may birthday so had thought he would be Jan too then suddenly got a letter out of the blue just the other week. Was very tearful as have been working full time these last two terms and was looking forward to a term with him before he started school

Sounds like they had hardly any September starters and loads of Jan ones. Is your DS going to school where you live?

We meet all the time normally Leapfrogs in Skelmanthorpe but hopefully when the weather picks up again we'll do outdoor places like cannon hall or ysp

we're in darton, which isn't a distinct village like yours. darton school is actually further away from us than barugh green (the neighbouring village which blends boundaries). bg does much better year on year, plus he has beeen to nursery there since 6m and most of his friends go there.

StinkyPete · 30/05/2007 23:14

didn't answer your question there did I?
no, he's going to barugh green!!

hello everyone! Sarah, are you feeling a bit calmer yet? Starting school is a nightmare, isn't it? I remember when G started (seems so long ago now, she'll be in yr 4 next year, my baby is all grown up!). I agree with stinky about the village thing, it would be nice to be able to do the walk to school etc. Don't local schools have after school clubs and stuff? G can be at school until 6pm with everything that goes on (she never is, but some of the kids are) Anyway, do you think we should find out when everyone's schools break up and then if there are quite a few that can't make the 25th we can arrange a different date? I can do any day prob (L is at nursery but he can skive), G breaks up from school on the 4th or 5th, but is busy with 2 holdays and a drama course in july so it'll be me and L (My DD has a wonderful social life - much more impressive than mine )
