Any one fancy big picnic type meet up? Cannon Hall perhaps? Shall we throw some ideas about?

Here's mine - Cannon Hall, once school breaks up but before 18th August! Any weekeday fine for me in hols!

Phoenix/Gingermonkey etc- stop swearing or using " distasteful" language on your thread as my school system won't let me on because of it!!

It's in York, near huntington, haxby. Just outside ringroad.

sarahhal · 28/05/2007 16:52

Phew, thought it was something I had said with the lack of replies

Now I am on half term you can say what you like on your posts Ginger and Phoenix as there is no school filter!!

Temple Newsham sounds good and quite central.

Now for the tricky bit....when?!! It sounds ages and ages away, but how about in the week beginning 23rd July? I have no ties to any day once school has broken up, so how about those of you working say which day is best for you?

Trace - how are you? Haven't seen you on here for yonks. When are you due? Keep meaning to get in touch to check that you are ok about fitting the car seat as it can be a bit tricky!

Phoenix · 28/05/2007 18:19

Oh and Sarah, Trace is due mid June but she's hoping to be induced soon.

ruddynorah · 28/05/2007 18:21

Gingermonkey · 28/05/2007 18:33

My DD's on holiday that week so I am free with DS (DD has a better social life than me! And she's not even 8 yet!). July 25th sounds good for me Phoenix xxx ps weather looks shocking for tomorrow - do you fancy leapfrogs in the morning? Get there early ish - 9.30-10 before the rush? And you too Sarahhal?

Phoenix · 28/05/2007 18:44

Can't do tomorrow ginger i've got to wait in for Parcelforce collecting a parcel.

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 28/05/2007 19:01

Temple Newsam and that week sound ok to me.....it'll be good to meet some other MNers. I'll have DS (5) and DD?(6wks) with me. I'm due around the same time as Trace but booked in for a C-section on 5th June.

sarahhal · 28/05/2007 19:01

Had been thinking about joining you Ginger but have decided to let the DSes go to nursery as usual so I can have a day to myself

Wednesday 25th July looking a possibility then?

Saturn74 · 28/05/2007 19:16

I may come too.

filthymindedvixen · 28/05/2007 19:29

this is too good a chance to miss!
northerner - if you do go, I'd be thrilled to accept a lift (And will buy the ice creams!)

bewilderbeast · 28/05/2007 21:23

july 25 should be fine for me too

DrNortherner · 29/05/2007 08:23

Oh bum, I work Tues, Weds and Thursday. Can only make it if it's a Mon or Friday that week.

elkiedee · 29/05/2007 10:28

I'll probably have just returned home to London from a week up north if you do 25th, don't think I can stay so long - difficult for dp rather than for me as I'm still on maternity leave. I expect to be in Ilkley on 5 and 7 July, again on 18 July, then Harrogate for 19-22 July, returning to Ilkley on 22nd, back south on c 23 July. Would be interested in advice on baby friendly eating places in Harrogate in July - have been plenty of times before but first time as a mum.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 29/05/2007 10:39

Ooh, looks like the thread's taken off!

I can do Wed 25th July (but not earlier that week); I can get to Temple Newsam but
if we don't end up there it would help if we go somewhere with good public transport.

(Can't believe Temple Newsam website doesn't have any info on buses from Leeds city centre; however I've been there before and am sure I could get a taxi if necessary.)

DrNortherner · 29/05/2007 12:46

elkiedee - what sort of eating p;aces do you need? Lunch or Dinner, realxed or formal? How old will baby be?

tribpot · 29/05/2007 12:50

I looked at the journey planner for WY Metro and you can't get to Temple Newsam by public transport, apparently. The 63A runs once a day (at 630 in the morning) and the next nearest stop for the 18/18A is something of a hike.

Gingermonkey · 29/05/2007 14:42

What about Roundhay Park? Is that better for public transport? Still has plenty of parking for those in cars.

Chloe55 · 29/05/2007 16:15

Oh bum, I work wednesdays. I can only do Tuesdays.... unless I take a holiday, I'll think about it nearer the time - not sure how many days I have left.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 29/05/2007 17:07

Roundhay Park looks better for public transport but the link from their website doesn't work.
Is their cafe still closed? It got burnt down by arsonists a while back.
I will ask my SIL (lives nearby) next time I speak to her.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 29/05/2007 17:08

(I am thinking we need somewhere with an indoors as well in case of typical British weather.)
