Any one fancy big picnic type meet up? Cannon Hall perhaps? Shall we throw some ideas about?

Here's mine - Cannon Hall, once school breaks up but before 18th August! Any weekeday fine for me in hols!

Phoenix/Gingermonkey etc- stop swearing or using " distasteful" language on your thread as my school system won't let me on because of it!!

Rounday Park cafe is still closed, but there is a temporary one in the cricket pavilion.....and there's always Tropical World if the weather is bad....and a cafe there too!

Oh bl*dy hell, dh reckons I have agreed to spend a few extra days at MIL's. His fault for not writing it on the calendar but I've done similar things to him in the past so can't really complain.

I hope you have lovely weather though [virtuously]

Nbg · 30/05/2007 17:54

DrNortherner, I am looking for very relaxed and informal eating places for lunch or dinner. Baby was born on 4 May so he'll still be very young - less than 3 months. Thanks.

DrNortherner · 30/05/2007 22:39

Ok, well for dinner I would say pizza express, pizza hut or pinnochio's or Brio's (both family orientated Italians). Mind you as he's so young he is very portable and I guess you could go anywhere really.

For lunch there is a coffee shop called Milans that has a kiddies area and will haet up bottles etc but I find it a bit grotty. There are loads of starbucks type places and a very popular coffee shop in M&S that is very convenient for families.

Hope you have a good time

Phoenix · 30/05/2007 22:44

You lot don't have to stick to July 25th just cos i said its my day off I don't mind if i can't make this one.

Ellbell · 30/05/2007 22:48

Will keep an eye on this thread, just in case... But Wakefield primary schools don't break up till the following week, so my poor dds will be still at school on July 25th. (They do get a 2-week half-term now... which is bugger all use to me, as I'm up to my neck in exam scripts... [sigh].)

Have fun, though!

Phoenix · 30/05/2007 22:52

its been on the local news today about wakey schools changing there hols to the same as everyone else.

StinkyPete · 30/05/2007 22:53

why do I never see these threads sooner? hi sarah, phoenix, trace. hope you're all well. I'd love to join you - can someone summarise what when where???

Phoenix · 30/05/2007 22:54

Hello stinkeypete

Maybe July 25th somewhere in Yorkshire

Ellbell · 30/05/2007 22:55

Not before the end of this term, though?

We (school governors) are asked to vote on what we want every year, but it never changes. I think a lot of people like the two-week half term now. It's a good time to go away and the second week is normally cheaper, as it counts as 'term time' for most people. It just doesn't suit me (whinge, moan, protest !)

Phoenix · 30/05/2007 22:56

Stinkeypete we've got a Barnsley, Wakefield, Huddersfield thread up and running in meet ups it'd be nice to see you again

Phoenix · 30/05/2007 22:58

Some of us meet every week am i tempting you
