Any one fancy big picnic type meet up? Cannon Hall perhaps? Shall we throw some ideas about?

Here's mine - Cannon Hall, once school breaks up but before 18th August! Any weekeday fine for me in hols!

Phoenix/Gingermonkey etc- stop swearing or using " distasteful" language on your thread as my school system won't let me on because of it!!

Sarah - if anyone has come over from wakefield to Leeds then they will already be clutching fruit shoots and sausage rolls so that's no good

EmmyLou · 02/07/2007 23:16

Well I'm buggy free these days (dd3 approaching 4) so 4 wheeled identification would be futile...

Could someone arrive holding a bunch of carnations and act as a 'roving focal point' - within sight of the Tropical World entrance?

What time anyway? Anyone have morning or afternoon preferences?

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/07/2007 23:23

I really wanted to come along to this meet-up, but am going to be on holiday that week, but...

There is a seating area outside tropical world (next to the lemurs and fish ponds) which would be as good a place as any to meet.....and what about making yellow smiley face badges, like this..... so you can all recognise each other?

Have a nice time and I'll maybe make the next one!

Gingermonkey · 03/07/2007 07:14

daisyandbabybootoo - cancel your holiday we need you to organise us . Right, badges it is - I have a super badge it (well, DD does). DD also breaks up from school on thurs and her friend is coming for the day on fri so I can put them to work making badges. If everyone emails me and gives me their addy I can post them out if you like? katyejonesathotmaildotcom(with . and @ of course). I am easy for either morning or afternoon, I think the ones coming from further away should be able to choose. What do you lot from Hull think?

Gingermonkey · 03/07/2007 11:53

I think the vote has it as monday 30th july. Now, we just need to sort out the time - preferences please. I would probably say morning (late on, say 11ish, bring a packed lunch kind of thing). But the Hull posse are travelling furthest I think so what do you lot reckon? And what does everyone think of the smiley badge for identification purposes idea?

notsogummyanymore · 03/07/2007 13:13

i'm coming from chester so would prefer late morning/lunchtime, but will fit in ir meet you all later? basically i'm very easy

Gingermonkey · 03/07/2007 16:19

That's 1 vote for lunch time then.....everyone else please vote (if you are easy gummy, please don't be flashing too much flesh - some of us are quite modest )

DrNortherner · 03/07/2007 17:36

11am onwards is good for me. I don't have a smiley badge though.......

DrNortherner · 03/07/2007 17:37

No buggy here either as ds is 5.

Gingermonkey · 03/07/2007 18:25

I am going to set up a sweat shop using my DD and her friend to make smiley face badges if you'd like one, I can post it out to you? (I shall sneak them in with DH's work post stuff so it's free, free, free!!!)I can post them out to everyone that wants one if you email me your addy katyejones at hotmail dot com

KaySamuels · 03/07/2007 21:09

Hi there I'm from Hull and would love to come too, can do most days (prefer not to do thursdays tho). I can't drive so can only come if it can be accessed by public transport.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 03/07/2007 21:11

Kay, I'll be coming from Pocklington area on public tranport - train from York and bus from the station (haven't looked into this yet but I know it can be done).

We can share info and maybe meet at the station.

KaySamuels · 03/07/2007 21:16

That sounds lovely kathy, I would be doing the same so would definately be good to meet a friendly face along the way.

Gingermonkey · 03/07/2007 22:01

kay - the meet will be on monday july 30th. I think lunch time if that's agreed by all of you long distance travellers.

KaySamuels · 04/07/2007 20:39

Am looking forward to it.

KaySamuels · 04/07/2007 20:48

Is anyone on here local to Leeds? Need to find out about getting a bus from the train station, and not sure best way to find out so if any locals can advise I would be very greatful.

fryalot · 04/07/2007 20:58

hmm... not me, I'm afraid, but dp used to live in Leeds, will ask him when he wakes up, but it will probably be tomorrow before I can post an answer, so if anyone else knows....

Kathyis6incheshigh · 04/07/2007 21:01

I was going to ring up my brother and ask him actually Kay - he lives in Chapel Allerton and buses to work in the centre every day.
Will report back when I have info!

Gingermonkey · 05/07/2007 07:36

I think the roundhay buses go from Vicar Lane in Leeds which is about 5 mins from train station. I posted a link for bus times further down the thread if you scroll but I can always get a proper timetable when I go over to Leeds one day next week and find out for sure and give you all proper directions to the bus stop? (I'll have a hunt for it and make sure I know which one it is - it wasn't so long ao that I didn't drive and I remember what a pain it was searching for the right bus stop with a LO in tow)

DrNortherner · 05/07/2007 19:37

Yes please gingermonkey I'll have a badge.

I'm looking forward to this, there quite afew going so it will be great to meet so many of you.

Gingermonkey · 06/07/2007 10:31

bettythebuilder · 06/07/2007 20:54

gingermonkey, I've also sent you an email

Gingermonkey · 08/07/2007 07:47

betty - the smiley badge will be in the post monday - dd has been very busy, bless her!
Northerner - do you want one? Haven't had an email from you.....katyejones at hotmail dot com. Anyone else???!!!!

Gingermonkey · 10/07/2007 08:00

Ok, DD has made a load of smiley face badges for everyone so please let me know if you'd like one for the meet up so we can spot each other. If you think you'd look an idiot wearing it put it on the LO (I shall be wearing mine, it's Nu Rave and I am down with the kids!!!!)

twinks · 10/07/2007 15:18
