Brockwell Park!

What about a Brockwell Park meet-up? So many current MN-ers are in Brixton and surrounding areas, and so many others have nostalgic memories of Brockwell Park from when they used to live here.

An informal picnic close to the cafe on weekend afternoon? A breakfast in the cafe?

I can think of me, Bossykate, Batters, Bungalowbelle, Zeitgeist, Hallgerda, the people who were on that coat-ripping-bus thread, Spidermama, Rowan1971, Floating, Tiredteacher, SandraDee, Evey, Serenity, Drospophila (I think).

Who's up for it?

and JanInLondon, of course...

OP posts:
Hallgerda · 17/04/2007 21:51

I'd be up for it

Blu · 18/04/2007 15:28

C'mon the rest of you! Have spotted belgianBun as a S Londoner now!

I used to live in Brockwell Park Gardens briefly

Ahhh ...getting the number 3 to Brixton station, I remember the days when you could still smoke on the top deck, and the day a gorgeous rasta man asked me for a silk cut, took it, rolled up a colossal skin and didnt' even offer me a single toke.

have a super time

Blu · 18/04/2007 15:44

Amazing how many MN-ers have lived in Brixton.
GlassOfWine, too, I think!Wish you could join us, SW!

bossykate · 18/04/2007 15:45

yes i'm up for it!

Hallgerda · 18/04/2007 17:04

Bumping for mafalda1 (actually, I could probably just shout out of the window ), non25, cjs76, nikkieSW16, Verso, redjulieb, cp1980 and angelgabriel from the Streatham meet-up thread. Oh, and SunnyJane.

Spidermama · 18/04/2007 19:04

Oh I'd love a little jaunt in Brockwell Park one weekend. I'm presuming you mean with kids?

noddyholder · 18/04/2007 19:09

Oh I used to love it when I lived in London

Spidermama · 18/04/2007 19:11

Come along for the day out Nodds. I'm going for old times sake. I spent so many hours in that park as I lived two minutes away and had a dog. Happy days indeed.

noddyholder · 18/04/2007 19:15

when is it?

Spidermama · 18/04/2007 21:16

I don't know yet. I'm waiting for Blu to come back and give us a date.

Blu · 18/04/2007 21:43

Oh yes, it's definitely for those who want to make a nostalgic visit as well as current S London regulars! And even honorary S Londoners!

And with kids is probably easier for people, isn't it?

A weekend so that nostalgic visitors can get here?

19th or 20th May?

OP posts:
Spidermama · 18/04/2007 21:47

I can do the 19th with all four kids ... or the 20th with just one or two.

Hallgerda · 19/04/2007 10:17

20th fine for me, too (either date would be).

Blu · 19/04/2007 11:55

Sounds like the 20th. I'm guessing afternoon would be better for you, Spider?

ooh, Floating - briliant!
It will be very unscary and informal and ad hoc.

Spidermama · 19/04/2007 17:29

I don't mind really Blu as long as it's after 11. I know another MNer who's in Dulwich. I'll email and show her this thread as we've been trying and failing to meet up in Brockwell Park in fact.
