i too completely agree Uwila. but as sad as it feels, people complain and don't vote and if that is the only way to get them to vote then .....

uwila · 09/01/2007 11:42

Tell them that if they didn't bother to vote, they should shut up. (I may have to painfully eat my own words here)

O2BMe · 09/01/2007 11:43

Hi Ladies

New to this thread and MN. Couldn't help but in.... I voted in the last National Elections in this country and I was only an Aussie Citz at the time.

DH and I removed our names from the Aussie Electral Roll before we left 7 yrs ago to avoid any fines. When we eventually move back we can add our names back on and resume voting again.

Wow, can't believe the length of policital talk going on in this thread. Interesting reading

quokka · 09/01/2007 11:51

Thats something I should have done . I was going to mention this thread to you O2BMe

O2BMe · 09/01/2007 11:56

Thanks Quokka, I have been watching it but didn't feel I had anything to add until this morning.

So is there a catchup out in the west here happening at all?

quokka · 09/01/2007 12:01

There are daytime meets here and we try and catch up every month for a boozy dinner here .

O2BMe · 09/01/2007 12:03

Thanks

uwila · 09/01/2007 12:03

Welcome O2BME. I can't make the daytime meets , but you'll definately find me at the boozy meets.

Nanou1 · 09/01/2007 12:17

foxabout2pop · 09/01/2007 12:34

O2BMe · 09/01/2007 15:39

Hi Fox - I live in Teddington and my DS is 8 mths. Do you have any LOs? Or can I gather by your chat name you're very preg at the mo?

MrsBigD · 09/01/2007 15:44

Welcome O2BMe

Foxie already has 2 lo's and you deduced correctly is very pg at the moment

Welcome o2bme.

I have one dd and she's 8.5 months. She was born on 21 April. What about ur ds?

pudding77 · 09/01/2007 15:47

Hi o2bme - like the name!! I'm in Brentford, have one ds who is about to be 1! Do you work or are you at SAHM?

Hi Mellow, nice to see you back. Congratulations on the job - sounds great. I popped into the library today and they're starting a new reading group on Thursday evenings but I guess if you're working you probably won't be able to make it? If you do, you need to put your name down and the first meet is on 25th Jan at 6pm.

foxabout2pop · 09/01/2007 15:54

O2Bme - I have a DS 6 and a DD 3 and am due a DS2 in late Feb/early March.

RU a stay at home Mum at the moment?

I live in Kew by the way - hope to meet you soon at one of the meets

O2BMe · 09/01/2007 15:54

Hi MrsBigD and Mellow

My DS was born on the 8th May so has just turned 8mths old. Mellow, where do you live?

I was hoping to meet some Mums in the area as I didn't get the chance to meet other Mums at Anti Natal classes. Reasons being 1. I started my classes too far into my preg and 2. DS came 3 weeks early. No family around and not many friends have LOs so would be great to have others to bounce ideas, concerns off and of course a great excuse to catch up for a coffee

MrsBigD - I gather you're moving from other threads I've read. Where are you moving to?

mellownomore · 09/01/2007 15:55

o2bme, I'm in Brentford.

O2BMe · 09/01/2007 16:01

I am a SAHM at the moment. Feeling a little guilty about that but don't want to miss a moment of these early stages in DS life.

I have a car so can easily drive to areas near by to meet up or the train and bus links are quite good from here as well - so Brentford, Kew, Richmond, Twickenham are all achieveable for me.

Are there many other SAHMs?

Fox - boy you're going to have your hands full but it must be exciting at the same time. Do you have family to help out?

pudding77 · 09/01/2007 16:02

I'm a SAHM as well, in Brentford. I swing daily between feeling guilty about staying at home and then about thinking I'd like to go back to work!!

MrsBigD · 09/01/2007 16:04

O2bme, we're moving to Marlow so shall still 'attend' the West London threads as it's 'only' 1/2 hour from WestLondon

This is a good bunch to befriend though some of us, including myself, are a bit mad

My lo's are dd 5 and ds 2.3

Oh and everybody once we've found a place in Marlow and settled in we'll be having a house warming and you're all invited

Have to find a place first though, today was a bit disappointing. The 'double' bedrooms fit a double bed but that's about it! So we'll either have to compromise on price, size or location... the latter not really being an option

Nanou1 · 09/01/2007 16:05

hi guys! foxie, my dd is 5 mar. would be funny if it was the same day! how is everybody... am bored at work although bits to do... but very pleased with myself and treated myself to amazon; rivr cottage family cookbook, a zigby one for dd who just loves him, a fairycups baking one, and 2 kids food book. did my oyster card, renewed my boots card.... yep, am pleased as i am gazing at my personal tasklist!

pudding77 · 09/01/2007 16:06

uwila · 09/01/2007 16:08
