Where is Sue when we need a good finger waving???? Oh yeah, siberia.

quokka · 08/01/2007 12:56

I seemed to have misplaced this thread but have found it again! Might be able to make the 26th, but have to conifrm dh isn't going away - again!

trying2bgood · 08/01/2007 14:50

quokka - are you planning on driving or taking public transport?
I might be able to go but have a full saturday daytime - taking dd1 to the theatre - so am mulling it over as normally these outings totally knock the stuffing out of me!

trying2bgood · 08/01/2007 14:53

fox -that's the prob wit libdems. They are well liked but no one votes for them! I think charles kennedy needs to go on strictly come dancing to drum up some votes & help him regain the leadership!

quokka · 08/01/2007 14:59

t2bgood, can't make the 20th but I think there was talk about changing the date to 26th.

I think Kennedy's great, he has ginger hair just like my ds2 !

Nanou1 · 08/01/2007 15:08

hi guys! might not be able to do 26th either . how is everybody?

mellownomore · 08/01/2007 15:11

Hi everyone,

How are you all? I've been very busy with sorting out my new site. I've also had post-holiday blues with my lack of job and money situation.

But I think I've finally found a 3-month contract role (fingers crossed) and if all goes well, I should be able to make the next meet. I think 26th would be better for me.

PC, now that this job op is on the horizon, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm trying to sort out childcare for dd.

Dh is going to fill in in the mean time but I think he'll find it difficult to juggle a job and dd even if he's working from home.

Nanou1 · 08/01/2007 15:30

nice to see you mellow. welcome to the broke mummy club.... we all have our days i can assure you. will go and check out your website! good to hear you feel better

uwila · 08/01/2007 15:31

Oh come on.... link to new site please?????

OMG, we are going to have to call this the West London Nanny Support thread. I too will be venturing down this road for a new nanny to start in July. I'll probably start looking in April.

There are definatel enough nanny hunts going on around here for people to do some sharing and save a bit of money.

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 15:51

Mellow - Hi - nice to see you back

T2BG - I really like Charles Kennedy, and not just 'cos he has red hair . He's almost too nice to be a politician though. I was a councillor with his wife (I was Lab she was LibDem) B4 they got engaged. She resigned when they got engaged.

I like Simon Hughes too, 'just 'cos he works so damned hard, (even though he very hypocritically used homophobia to get elected) - he's a brilliant local MP. I would deffo vote for Simon over Ken to be London Mayor.

The person I dislike intensley is that wicked Margaret Hodge . A good friend of mine knows one of the victims of the Islington child abuse scandal and he reported it loads of times (that he was being abused in a children's home by the staff and their friends) and she covered the whole thing up . Then she made up loads of lies about the victim to make him look like an unreliable witness. If only karma really did exist...

Anyway you lot - I'm going to post some new dates on the night out thread, so can you hop over their and vite?

Cheers M'Dears

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 15:51

I mean "there" and "vote"

sfxmum · 08/01/2007 15:56

the curse of the libdemswell liked never voted for - because no one knows what they stand for apparently, whilst with everyone else it is all pretty clear

Margaret Hodge is plain evil and the worst case of lazy labour self interest utterly and criminally incompetent don't think Islington is fully recovered from that mess, things like that linger and are very damaging for anyone working in that field - so there!

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 16:00

I don't know how that woman can sleep at night TBH

uwila · 08/01/2007 16:02

No no no.... I can't take any more. STOP!

Do you realise that lib dem thinks anyone who makes £30,000 should have their taxes increased. Can you really afford to pay more??? I can't.

Gordon Brown's taxandspendmongerism is nothing compared to lib dems....

foxabout2pop · 08/01/2007 16:06

A woman after my own heart Uwila

mellownomore · 08/01/2007 16:57

I'll post the link to the site when it's ready. It's still being built atm.

Nanny share is a good idea. The only problem is that I only have a contract till end March so I can't commit to anything beyond then.

Anyway, it'll be nice to see everyone at the Jan/Feb meet.

Paddlechick666 · 08/01/2007 17:10

try gumtree mellow, there are lots of travellers who are on stopovers earning cash so a short term might suit someone.

it's a nightmare huh!

mellownomore · 08/01/2007 17:26

Thx for the tip, PC. I'll check it out.

mellownomore · 08/01/2007 21:17

It's confirmed. I start on Thursday. On one hand, I'm really excited to be going back to work. I've sat around in sweats for 9 months and it'll be fun to wear proper clothes again.

But I also feel really guilty about leaving dd.

I've also started expressing like crazy because dd is still on 5 bf a day. PC, when did your dd go down to 2 feeds a day?

uwila · 09/01/2007 08:16

Mellow, I can't remember, where are you?
