HAPPY NEW YEAR

quokka · 01/02/2007 11:58

lol at quokka the squatter! Its actually a really good way to give birth, and someone snuck into the birthing pool before me so didn't really have much choice in the matter

sfxmum · 01/02/2007 12:02

mellow sorry dd is poorly and you had a rotten night, fingers crossed it will all be better soon.

foxy and nanou it is hard thinking of money i don't know many people who do not have to worry. as for rent/buy we took the plunge but i worry everyday as we rely on dh's contract work.
my plan is to start my own business with my sisters in about 5yrs but i guess i will need some other kind of work at the same time.

sue- yes that is how i manage most things these days will cat mobile number and go on from there

Paddlechick666 · 01/02/2007 12:06

morning all

gotta come to office tomorrow so can't do coffee anywhere

mind you, Daniel's probably going to have his hands full with the ones who can make it!

nanou, serious bummer. the last 12 months have been financial hell for us too. we now rent as house equity went into paying off debts. just hope dh's ability as an accountant means we've avoided any tax crap.

my stepsister got IVF on NHS but I think it's a postcode lottery and she got lucky tbh. she also caught 1st time i think!

seems like we've all got a cheap summer ahead so picnics and thank god for Kew membership huh!

there is a small hope that I may come along 10th Feb. spoke to Quokka's babysitter earlier and she's free and relatively cheap but it still makes for double the cost of a night out. depending on dh progress i am toying with the idea of asking him.......

mellow, hope your LO's temp comes down soon. Medised is always good for nighttime but remember can't be taken with Calpol so you need to leave 4 hours before giving.

Ma's 70th today, dd bought her a Pingu DVD LOL!

Quokka, hope you get car sorted soon mate ;-)

Paddlechick666 · 01/02/2007 12:08

quokka, you shoulda put the hammock in the pool then you could've claimed squaters rights!!

Boom boom!

lol - i wanted to do the same as quokka (its the gravity thing you see and it's easier that way!). xfx i have always wanted to set up my own bus and always have many ideas but to be able to do that i need to have some savings so... you get my drift?! i knew i should have married a rich husband.... will know next time . what kind of business are you thinking about or dont you want to discuss it which i would understand. quokka was thinking.... can i drop - literally drop - the stuff sue might be interested in? sue if you send me your mobile on [email protected] i could call you whilst i go through the bag. did not realise we were friday tomorrow?! how is dd mellow?

quokka · 01/02/2007 12:44

ha ha!

ComeOVeneer · 01/02/2007 12:53

Morning all. Another one here with a sleepless night. Ds was up from 2 until 6 (allowing me to return to bed for 45 mins before the alarm went off. He clearly has a sore throat judging by the Barry White voice, and a streaming nose, plus he is coenciding it with teething, so red droole ridden chin and a bad case of nappy rash. I have just got him down for a nap so (finger crossed) should have a couple of peaceful hours.

Sue, I have boxes of boys clothes up to 2 years old. If you haven't already been inundated with offers and are still looking for anything, give me a shout.

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 13:08

Quokka - they'd better not be in the pool when I want to give birth !!

Will have to ensure DH doesn'y climb into the pool for a nap...

Sue et al - what time R U meeting tomorrow then? Just being nosy...

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 13:09

I mean doesn't climb into the HAMMOCK for a nap LOL!!!

trying2bgood · 01/02/2007 13:43

Mellow - hope dd is feeling better. my dd2 had a temp and was vomiting last night, I think it was a tummy upset. The calprofen worked a treat.

Nanou - where are you thinking of moving too? Hope you find somewhere nice. We are also feeling the pinch lately, but am keeping my chin up and expecting something good to come round the corner! I will expect the same for you guys too.

Fox - where is st mags? I think I must be geographically behind or something as it rings no bells at all! Although fat boys sounds vaguely familiar?
I must remember to put 10th in calendar!

PS - I am, ahem, in the gym writing this!

trying2bgood · 01/02/2007 13:48

can vouch for squatting being good for birth. Did this for dd2? Much easier and quicker than in a bed with dd1. A big thumbs up for birth centre at Queen Mary's.

trying2bgood · 01/02/2007 13:50

fox - LOL would love to see you try and chuck someone out of the pool! It takes so long to fill up that a lot of people never make it in!!!

Nanou1 · 01/02/2007 13:51

foxie - forgot to say i have a book for you . got me blushing on the tube this morning and i just hope my neighbours did not see what i was reading it's juicy!
t2bg; south ealing for the st saviour school. can't remember how old is your little one again? am glad you are making full use of the gym facilities

Nanou1 · 01/02/2007 13:52

oh my i can't believe i just wrote this lol

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 14:07

Nanou - so you buy juicy books do you?

T2BG - St Mags is just over Richmond Bridge, travelling from Richmond to Twickenham . Or accessible from A316. Where abouts do you live again, as you may be able to travel with someone else?

Shall I put you down as a yes then for 10 Feb?

quokka · 01/02/2007 15:08

t2bgood I should be going so we can head there together, what about you nanou?

quokka · 01/02/2007 15:10

Sue I'm easy with times, will have to pop into Mothercare to get the vouchers before though. Where abouts in Kew Green were you thinking of Uwila?

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 01/02/2007 15:12

we were going to meet early friday I have an 8.40 doctors appt so 9am onwards (so don;t know why Uwila is bleating about lunch!!) - Uwila howabout Lunch on Firday the following week at Kew Green. Is there a PE - thought it was an Ask?

What time do you want to make - Quokka?

I will later delete this...

mobile number 07808 929988

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 01/02/2007 15:13

Nanou1 · 01/02/2007 15:13

would just love to join you guys but sadly i am working.... saying that i am not feeling too good right now maybe i could pull a sickie?! bad bad girl . what time are you meeting?

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 01/02/2007 15:14

we are incapable of fixing a time!

I am free after doctors appointment all day.

Nanou1 · 01/02/2007 15:15

thanks sue. just saw your note. how is daniel?

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 01/02/2007 15:16

he's a bit grizzly and hot - he's teething and has a slight cold but not too bad. The men who delivered the new fridge today freaked him out though. He's not used to men (me neither)

Nanou1 · 01/02/2007 15:16

i remember when dd was "little"; we met very often with 2 other mums and noone of us were ever on time and always waiting for each other !!!!

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 01/02/2007 15:17

but must go now and try to plumb the damn thing in... will catch up later with a time anyone wants to do tomorrow.
