Time for a new general chat thread

HAPPY NEW YEAR

OP posts:
quokka · 29/01/2007 18:00

of course Mr Dishy fancies you!

Paddlechick666 · 29/01/2007 18:01

how injured quokka? you could call the RSPCA and they'll send an inspector round I think, or local vet?

you might have to keep it in a box overnight tho.........

lol @ foxie, don't worry i don't think i'll be getting any more skinny. probably quite the opposite.

your instruction is on my "to do" list for this evening

quokka · 29/01/2007 18:03

the thing is I don't know if its a mole or a rat?!

Paddlechick666 · 29/01/2007 18:14

erm, tbh i wouldn't know either but i'd prob say rat just as i've never seen a mole out and about, they're underground dwellers aren't they?

rats are brown/grey and like large mice i think.

moles are cuter aren't they? well they are in Tales of The Riverbank!

sorry, not being much use am i?

foxabout2pop · 29/01/2007 18:15

I agree, moles are better looking but rats are deffo more intelligent.

quokka · 29/01/2007 19:25

well something has been burrowing in on the edge of the grass and decking and he looks quite cute???? Might just wait until dh gets home, don't want to pick it up and get bitten - don't moles have big teeth? Just don't want to let the cat out, he case he eats it for dinner

xoxo · 29/01/2007 19:54

HI all
moles??? wildlife and everything - you'll not want to move to S'Pore now.

Looks like Dorset is off. Couold not agree terms and dh has now rejected it!! Mostly I'm happy/ relieved. On other hand am sad as liked a couple of loverly BIG houses taht woudl be way outside my dream bracket in west london.

dh sad as he really wanted it. feel bad for being slightly happy about it

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 29/01/2007 19:58

Kill it with a shovel - mole/rat/whatever. If it were burrowing holes in my garden it would have to go...

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 29/01/2007 20:00

He is in 9-12 months clothes. And could do with a jacket - have a snow suit or cardigans. My sister bought him a lovely jacket but ebcause he's 1yr old everyone buys him 12-18 months despite me telling them that he's a tiny 14 months!

How old is your DS Pudding I can trade you a brand new 12-18 month jacket as it will be height of summer before he gets close to fitting it!

pudding77 · 29/01/2007 20:08

Sue, my ds is just 1 so I have coats that are 12-18 or 9-12, I can let you have both & you can see how they fit him. Don't worry about trading as, like I said, ds has plenty! I also have hats as well if you need them!

xoxo - sorry for your dh but yayy for you (now I feel bad as well)!

snowmum · 29/01/2007 21:50

Quokka, did you discover if it was a mole or a rat? When do you find out about S'pore?

Xoxo, glad you are not off to Dorset.

Paddle, hope you have a fab time tonight!

Foxie, good news on placenta. Also sure "Mr Dishy" fancies you! Lucky you, having a dishy consultant. Mine was a woman with cold hands!

DD suffering from cold and being miserable. Me feeling fed up. About to kick back and watch ER. Have a good evening ladies.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 29/01/2007 21:59

Very kind Pudding - can't remember where you live - is it Isleworth? Can't even blame pregnancy hormones for the previously rasor sharp brain which has mysteriously morphed into cotton wool...

MrsBigD · 29/01/2007 22:13

SJ went through the boxes and have quite a few trousers, mainly that soft track suit bottom type and 1 pair of jeans in 9-12 and 12-18. You're welcome to the lot . As Pudding seems to be only too happy to supply you with jackets, I'll give the coats away. However, some of the trousers have matching tops so will put them in. Not sure whether I'd be able to meet up this week, even if you felt up to it. Totally frantic and panicking... only 3 days left to pack aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Pudding, could I possibly entrust you with the stuff I've put together for SJ tomorrow when you drop off the boxes? And you pass it on when the opportunity arises. And SJ if you don't want some/any of the stuff just pass it on or give it to charity

lemonaid · 29/01/2007 22:22

I am reasonably sure that I have oodles of 9-12 month jackets (DS having been the first grandchild on DH's side of the family). Let me go through DS's stuff and get back to you...

2Cute · 29/01/2007 22:33

Evening all

XOXO - Sorry about the move falling through.

Sfxmum - Make sure you get your DH to spoil you for your birthday! My birthday isn't til July and I've already dropped not so subtle hints that of a holiday around that time!

Well done for fitting pre-preg clothes. I haven't got a hope of getting back into mine.

mellow2 · 30/01/2007 08:09

Foxie,
Glad the placenta has moved in the right direction. Fingers crossed for you it'll move down further. Mmm, dishy consultant. Wish I had one of those.

uwila · 30/01/2007 08:53

Sue, I'll have a look at home tonight and see if we still have a collection of 12 month trousers. DS had loads of traousers (because his mummy has an ebay shoping problem!) So, many of them still have a lot of life in them. The only thinkg is I can't remember if I have already given them away. I'll look and let you know.

foxabout2pop · 30/01/2007 09:17

Oxo - fab news on your DH's job not materialising!!!

Now we get to hang onto you. Is he determined to leave London or was this just an opportunity too good to be missed?

Hi everyone else.

pudding77 · 30/01/2007 09:35

I'm in Brentford Sue, so not far from you. I'll sort through them all - just let me know when you want me to drop them around.

I'm going to Lollipop this morning if anyone would like to join me!

Nanou1 · 30/01/2007 09:40

morning all. sorry oxo but am pleased you are not moving after all their loss our gain . how are you sue? thought i'd leave you alone whilst you settle in. have put a few bits aside but no trousers i think as they are mostly pink . i think i have some t-shirts and slippers - oh can't remember now; will check and bring what i have at the dinner on 10th Feb. foxie - how is placenta this morning?! will be nice to see you all soon. have a good day. x how it did go paddle?

sfxmum · 30/01/2007 09:42

hi all

oxo congrats? i often have elaborate fantasies about a house in the country

puds - not sure if can drag self to Lollipop might just make it to Kew again today at some point, but avoiding C&C if i can. dd is mostly interested in collecting sticks and climbing stairs, don't mind the cold just need the will to pop out

2Cute · 30/01/2007 10:56

Hey all

I'd love to have a huge house (obviously way away from London for it to be affordable) but I need hustle and bustle in my life so our huge mortgage and normal sized house is here to stay!

Paddle - Did you get ANY sleep last night?

Pudding - I was planning on going to the Lollipop this morning as well but feel too shattered to do anything or go any where. Thank goodness for Playhouse Disney

Hia Nanou!

Foxi - How's your DS now? BTW - I love his hair!

foxabout2pop · 30/01/2007 12:33

2cute - me too re. mega mortgage for what is really a very ordinary house!!

DS had his hair cut Saturday - still looks cool in my completely unbiased opinion. He's had sore throat/cough/temperature, but is on the mend now and think DD is catching it instead

Placenta still needs to move over a bit more to be safe - I think I have spd and a urinary tract infection too atm - oh the joys of motherhood eh?

ComeOVeneer · 30/01/2007 12:39

HI all. Not been onhere since Thursday. Spent Friday and Saturday loving creating a fabulous finger buffet for 40 for dh's birthday party Saturday evening. Woke up Sunday morning with blummin' tonsilitis and have only really surfaced into the world an hour ago, only because dh has to deal with a conferrence call with work, so have plonked ds in front of a Fireman Sam DVD and am catching up with MN. What's new?

Nanou1 · 30/01/2007 12:56

oh you poor thing! actually was about to pick your brains on childcare... our dd will be 3.5 in sept. we are looking at either getting an au-pair sept 07 onwards and will probably have moved to south ealing i think so that we are closer to the schools we would like dd to go to. how much does an au-pair cost per week? she would have sole care but for 2.5 hours in the afternoon when dd is at nursery. cleaning would be helpful but priority is dd having plenty of fun. would probably be live in. if live out, how much are we looking at? Also considering nanny sharing. thank you very much. ps: are you coming on 10th Feb? so that we meet at last
