I'm bored so here's a new thread to organise our August meet-up

Uwila suggested

24 August

I can do 24th

Can't be doing with steak tartare - its just uncooked burger, innit?

Tutter · 22/08/2006 18:24

sue, if you're talking about the tall youngish chap he is precisely the reason i'm off the glasshouse!!! long story but basically he refused to accept criticism of a dish - argued back at me, the tyke

xoxoxo · 22/08/2006 18:35

yes, it's just uncooked burger, with some other fancy ingredients. Sounds so much better in french, but what doesn't.
Anyway, it's just how I like my meat - still mooing!
oh, and with lots of red wine to wash it all down.

MrsBigD · 22/08/2006 20:08

good thing I had dinner at nando's before reading all this otherwise I'd be hungry too!

would you ladies cast a glance over My new website and let me have your constructive critisicm ... 'It's cr*p' does not count as such

hi mrsbigd- just had a gander at your website and first off i think it looks great - excellent look and feel. like the colours, typeface, layout etc.

one thing - your first para is a bit negative - why not open with something stronger and more positive?

MrsBigD · 22/08/2006 20:15

such as? LOL

OP posts:
MrsBigD · 22/08/2006 20:17

This better as a first para?

I always used to be a keen photographer and after attending a workshop at the London School of Photography have decided to take my passion to a new level... Our instructor pointed out that ... 'a photographer is always on a learning curve no matter how advanced, and 'practice makes perfect'

OP posts:
Tutter · 22/08/2006 20:29

yes, much better i think

MrsBigD · 22/08/2006 20:32

Thank you I've never been good at writing synopsis about myself despite my skill to waffle on for hours

STOP THE PRESS.... I have baby news. Just back from the hospital where I met the new and ever so lovely baby MrsRecycle. I have permission to broadcast the news, but must keep it brief so she can autor the full details when she gets home from the hospital -- hopefully Thursday.

Baby boy. Fab sleeper.
Born by planned section.
Mum had some blood loss, but is well looked after at Hillingdon and recovering nicely -- well enjoying the pain killers anyway.

YIPPEE I love good news.

We will have to plan a post natal girlie night out for her (and for Snowboo if she is lurking here).

MrsBigD · 22/08/2006 21:59

congrats to MrsR !!!

Uwila · 22/08/2006 22:03

I think it's great, MrsBigD. Needs more images. But that will come soon enough. I've just sent you an e-mail about maybe hiring you.

Uwila · 22/08/2006 22:04

Oh, forgot to say your paragraph is missing an end quote. But, otherwise is fine.

MrsBigD · 22/08/2006 22:09

Uwila more images will come in time as you said and also only quickly threw the website together in a couple of days

trying2bgood · 22/08/2006 22:14

congrats to Mrsrecycle! have not been around for a while! So hope you guys are doing well. When is the next meet up? Will try to come along but with decorators in, being a rep etc, finding spare time tough, holidays are always a bit busier for me as hubby is off work (he is a teacher)!!!! You'd think I'd have more spare time!!! LOL

Also sorry to hijack the thread but if any of you are Ealing mums then please have a think about joining ealing135, we organise open houses, events and local mum nights out which are fun and a real life saver!

SnowBoo · 23/08/2006 09:10

Congrats to MrsR!!!! Send her our best wishes Uwila and who knows, one day i might make a meet up!
Once we have a routine and daddy can dress/undress baby without any hiccups then we will be ready to rock and roll!!

Uwila · 23/08/2006 09:51

xoxoxo, I saw your comment on the Christmas meet-up thread. MrsBigD, Nanou1, BrsRecycle and I are going and staying at the Mayfair Holiday Inn. Our rooms are booked. But, if you want to join us you might be able to get a room in the same hotel (£105/night I think?)

xoxoxo · 23/08/2006 13:58

hi,
yes, am interesteed in going to christmas bash but I think it co-incides with a significant date so am hoping dh gets his act together (surely lesson learnt last year when I huffed for a week).

Am hoping to come next week though. Should I taxi it or are you all abstaining and brushing up on war and peace/ intricate details of foreign policy/ european issues or anything equally intellectual? Ohmygod, do I have to string a coherent sentence together? I don't think I've done that for 3 and a half years.

xoxoxo

Uwila · 23/08/2006 14:29

I think it's best to take a taxi and keep your options open. I will PROBABLY drive myself, but only because I'd have to get my car all the way back to Sunbury and then take a train and a bus to get to Kew. Just depends on what time I leave work.

MrsBigD · 23/08/2006 14:32

xoxoxoxo wash your mouth out... abstain?! me?!
Just so that Uwila can call me a lush again
Generally it's quite a tame occassion when we meet up.

I refuse to discuss Tolstoy till well after the 5th glass or so . If you want intellectual stick with Uwila, SJ and Yanks . Nanou and I shall hog the gin bottle

OP posts:
Uwila · 23/08/2006 14:38

Who do you think you are? Labelling me as intellectual? You lush! If the gin is brown, I'll certainly let you guys have it.

YELLOW lemon anyone?????

suejonez · 23/08/2006 14:41

Uwila - you could come here from work and stay - leave your DC's to the DH

suejonez · 23/08/2006 14:41

I generally abstain but thats because I take notes...

MrsBigD · 23/08/2006 14:58

in comparison to this MrsBigD Ignoramus you are intellectual Uwila

OP posts:
Uwila · 23/08/2006 15:29

Hmm.. I only speak one language (unless American and English makes me bilingual).

Sue, that is a tempting offer. I just might do it. Oh, but wait. You have a cat, don't you? I'm allergic to them. So it might not work out as I'm rather dependant on my ability to breathe.
