As Nanou01 has declared me group leader here's a new thread to try and arrange our next meet-up

Oldies and newbies equally welcome :)Grin

I'm pretty free for the rest of May, bar some dentist appointments

June is very barren so any entry in my social calendar would be most welcome.

Meet without the kids any evening
Meet with the kids only weekends

When and where would whoever like to meet? Grin

LOL. i don't blame you! will catch up tomorrow now as i need to get on.

MrsRecycle · 18/05/2006 12:41

Uwila - it was the Lantern. Though there was music there so you may be better off with W&M (it's also a bit bigger as well and at the end of the 65 bus route).

Nanou1 - snap - dd1 was itching and I had to delice her the other night. I've always found a good old soaking of conditioner and the plastic nit comb (from Boots)does the trick. I've never used any treatments and normally after 2 de-lousing sessions they go away.

MrsBigD · 18/05/2006 12:46

touch wood dd hasn't caught lice yet :) though just in case my friend in Israel sent me this contraption of an electric comb that zaps them ... fried critters Grin

Uwila · 18/05/2006 15:06

Lice? Yuck! You lot go to the Lantern and we lice free clean people can go to Wine and Moussaka.

MrsBigD · 18/05/2006 15:36

ROFL if you are that worried about lice just die your hair... that'll kill anything potentially nesting Grin

Took the words out of my mouth Uwila, I was just trying to think of a polite way of saying it!

MrsRecycle · 18/05/2006 16:07

When we were in the Sahara and dd2 was giving lots of cuddles to the camel she had been riding someone shouted out "watch out it might have fleas" - I shouted back "that's okay - she's got nits" - everyone laughed their heads off.

Unfortunately, nits are a forgone conclusion when the kids start school Uwila & Sue - even if they have short hair as dd2 has (shorter than yours Uwila!). I said to dh last night I'm so glad I'm having a boy - won't need to spend half an hour a night bent over the bath delousing him - I'll just put the clippers on it. Grin

suejonez · 18/05/2006 16:08

I'd love to start a sentance "when we were in the Sahara"

suejonez · 18/05/2006 16:09

Not my child - I have ordered a nit-free one. Oh yes and one that has read some parenting books and knows the rules.

MrsBigD · 18/05/2006 16:12

MrsR... ROFL re camel story

SJ Grin ... I wish I could have ordered a well educated baby LOL

If dd ever should get lice and combing doesn't do the trick... clippers ahoi!!! Hair will grow again LOL gawd I'm cruel

Doesn't it depend on where you send them to school. I mean Sue live in Kew. Do they have lice there?

I went to school for many years and never had lice.

suejonez · 18/05/2006 16:42

Definitely no lice in Kew, perish the thought, the Queen had her birthday party here Shock

MrsRecycle · 18/05/2006 16:47

Yes but dd2 has recently sat on the Queen's seat in her aeroplane at RAF Northolt so the Queen's probably got a lovely 80th birthday present Grin

I never got lice either - but I think it was because my hair was too dirty for them.

suejonez · 18/05/2006 16:50

I neve got lice either but I was in Wales, maybe they don't have them there either.

How did you know it was the Queens own seat? Was it throne-shaped?

Uwila · 18/05/2006 16:51

No, it's too cold there. Frozen nits. What is the difference between lice and nits anyway? Are they the same thing?

MrsRecycle · 18/05/2006 16:57

I wasn't there - it was a school trip but as I now have to call dd2 "Queen" instead of "Princess", I daren't question her - it's the only way we get her to eat everything up. She always asks if the Queen "eats this" and we say "yes" and she wafts it down. She also has to have her fruit juice in a crystal glass as "thats what the queen uses" (don't worry cheapo version looks good but from the market).

She also mentioned that she saw Prince Andrew and I told her that I was going to marry him before I met her Dad - and she said "cool - I could have been a real Princess" Grin

Mind you dd1 told the hairdressers when she was younger that dh (standing next to her) used to go out with Kylie Minogue - he couldn't get out of their quick enough. I told him his little white lies would get him into trouble one day Blush

MrsRecycle · 18/05/2006 16:58

Both the same Uwila - nits is what us commoners have and lice is what the Queen has. So I expect dd2 will now tell me off for saying she has nits and say its "lice Mummy".

Uwila · 18/05/2006 17:20

This is a weird country. There's common lice and royal lice? So, have I got this right? nits = chav lice

suejonez · 18/05/2006 18:00

so when we had the nit nurse in school, the royals had the lice lady?

MrsBigD · 18/05/2006 19:27

oh and uneducated lil me thought nits are the eggs the lice come from Grin. We're German we won't get nits LOL

OP posts:
MrsBigD · 19/05/2006 12:19

So back to the restaurants...

Wine and Moussaka everybody?

OP posts:
suejonez · 19/05/2006 13:39

OK for me

Uwila · 20/05/2006 12:25

Yes, I'm in. And the rest of you can come if you have lice, but not nits. Grin

MrsBigD · 20/05/2006 18:50

so we're going all 'klassy' are we? Grin

I'll book 2 tables then... 1 for nits and 1 for lice Grin
