Dear all,
as there seem to be a group of us, would you like to meet up? Maybe in the new year?
I'm in Heaton in Newcastle.
Miranda.

I wanted to come to this but all of us have had this sicky bug which seems to be doing the rounds. Would love to come to next one.

Anyone fancy rearranging?

Sassie · 07/04/2004 22:52

Hello,

It's a bit of a long shot but is there anyone out there from the Corbridge area? I have got an 8 month old baby boy and wondered if there is anything going on in our area we might come along to. If not Corbridge then maybe Hexham.

lynziclare · 05/05/2004 13:43

Hi everyone, i'm just new to mumsnet and i'm in North Kenton, Newcastle with a dd ella who is 7.5 months old! Would be nice to chat with other local mums. Lynsey xxx

Honeysuckle · 06/05/2004 10:13

Hi Lynsey,

Glad there is someone checking in to the mumsnet site from the North East. Think the last thread must have been and gone. I have a baby boy, nearly 9 months, and am trying to find things going on that he might like. We have been to piccolo - Jesmond and Whitley Bay, Bumps and Babes in Jesmond. Any ideas?

popsycal · 06/05/2004 10:14

hi there.....near benton....

lynziclare · 06/05/2004 22:29

Hi Honeysuckle, have you tried Aquababies? I got the information from the bbc website. Have a look at www.bbc.co.uk/tyne/features/2004/02/baby_activities.shtml

there are some good activities on here - hope this helps. I generally stick to toddler groups and swimming. Would be good to try something different though.

Honeysuckle · 08/05/2004 19:39

Thanks for that Lynsey. I will check that website out. A couple of friends take their babies to aquababies. I live in Corbridge but we are moving into town as I come into Newcastle to meet up with friends and for shopping. TO be honest, I think the mother and toddler groups are probably the best idea for this age as they are just happy to see other babies and play with lovely new toys! Sometimes I find that some of the baby activity sessions are a bit "forced" if you see what I mean. Might check out mum and toddler groups in town. Sorry this is rambling now! PS that was me, Sassie, but when I tried to put the name in again, it said someone already had it! So am now Honeysuckle - went through loads of plant names as lacked imagination and that was available!

Beccarollover · 08/05/2004 19:44

Anyone fancy a newcastle meet up then?

Honeysuckle · 08/05/2004 19:54

Blimey that was quick! I only flicked onto that link that Lynsey recommended and returned here to say thanks, that's great! It's got lots on it. By the way, has anyone been to the Ceramic Experience in Blaydon? I went a couple of weeks ago on a rainy afternoon and thought it was great. Get your babies' hands, feet on mug or plates. Great place for babies to crawl and play while mother happily drinks coffee and eats cake! Meeting up sounds good. When and where do you fancy? Well, better go, husband is slaving away painting, I am supposed to be doing some work but got distracted!

lynziclare · 09/05/2004 08:53

Hello there, a meet up sounds great. I havent been to the blaydon ceramic experience though - i dont drive so it is a bit of a hike for us!! Sounds great fun though, we did our own plaster prints with dd ella when she was 5 months! So when/where is the meet up? x

Honeysuckle · 09/05/2004 18:58

Well, as we live out in the sticks, we don't really mind where to meet as I come into town for most things. Any ideas? Somewhere central if that is easier for you Lynsey.

lynziclare · 09/05/2004 23:04

hi honeysuckle, i can get to most places easily enough by bus/metro but somewhere central is great. I have no idea where though - where have previous meet ups taken place???

juniper68 · 09/05/2004 23:14

I may be able to make it depending on when you meet,as I can get to Newcastle easily by train from here, if you want me

lynziclare · 09/05/2004 23:21

course we want you juniper!!! The more the merrier! Anyone else? I put a post on Bounty's Tyne and Wear thread letting them know, so we may get a few others from there. We'll give it a couple of days before we arrange so no one will get left out hopefully! BTW how old are you two? I'm 24. x
