Dear all,
as there seem to be a group of us, would you like to meet up? Maybe in the new year?
I'm in Heaton in Newcastle.
Miranda.

Thought I had better revive this thread.

Tynemouth's 'newish cafe on the beach' (what is its name???)
At 12 on Tuesday 1st June.

People coming:

Popsy and DS 22 months
Becca and DD (4) and DS 9 months)
Sassy + DS 9 months (???)
Lynziclare + DD 8 months
Hneysuckle + DS 10 months
Juniper68 + DS x2
Elliot + DS x 2
Lazyeye + DS x2 + bump
Miranda + DS
Rolymoly + DD 5 months

Anyone I have forgotten? Could you confirm if you are definitely coming?

There are going to be an awful lot of under one year olds....how big is the cafe? What about high chairs?!?!

ANy thoughts anyone?
Popsy xx

popsycal · 31/05/2004 08:24

Beccarollover · 31/05/2004 08:26

I am coming - not sure if Im bringing DD now though as she has had another offer!!

Beccarollover · 31/05/2004 11:08

bump

rolymoly · 31/05/2004 13:15

I think the cafe is quite big so we should be OK. Don't know its name but it is very obvious. See you all tomorrow!

popsycal · 31/05/2004 16:06

bump

popsycal · 31/05/2004 19:43

roly moly , becca and I....

is that it?!?!

popsycal · 31/05/2004 20:50

IT IS TOMORROW FOLKS!!!

Hopefully see you all there!
Becca and I will be arriving together....DS will be the one struggling to get out of a buggy - a big 22 month old. I have longish brown hair......

elliott · 31/05/2004 21:07

Its called Cafe C. I am coming with just ds2 (been away till just now). I think there should be enough space, and anyway there is the whole beach outside!

niceglasses · 01/06/2004 09:47

aka lazyeye

I'll probably be coming but may just be me and the bump as 2 sons at nursery and its nice to have a break.......although will prob feel guilty.

Elliot - so sorry about those fleece suits - were they in any sort of time to be useful? We all had a bit of a bug last week and I had to go back into work so totally forgot for a few days.......very sorry.

popsycal · 01/06/2004 09:51

niceglasses and elliot - can you give us a little description of what you look like?

off for a quick shower but will check back in a bit

popsycal · 01/06/2004 10:03

just occurred to me i have no idea where this is!

are we talking about parking in the centre of tynemouth or is it more towards the sea lfe centre for parking???!

rolymoly · 01/06/2004 10:11

Gorgeous day for a trip to the beach At least there will be space for all of us.

Popsy, the cafe is right on the Long Sands beach. (That's the big one that goes between Tynemouth and Cullercoats.) There is parking on the road above the beach, and also some pay and display spaces on the ramp that runs down to the beach. If you park in the centre of Tynemouth you will be very wet by the time you get there ...

niceglasses · 01/06/2004 10:13

Its probably best if you try to park somewhere near The Grand hotel - do you know that? There is a slope to the beach almost opposite the Grand - walk down there and Cafe C is just at the bottom.
Don't park in the centre of Tynemouth as you'd be looking at a bit of a walk then. You can actually park on the slope, I think.

Its an awful day here mind.......

Well, I'm massivley pregnant, curly hair, lazyeyes.....any use?

popsycal · 01/06/2004 10:14

thanks rolomoly - that is what i was thinking about the rain! lol!

Looking forward to seeing you all at 12!

popsycal · 01/06/2004 10:14

yep i know where the grand is....thanks for quick info folks!

Beccarollover · 01/06/2004 10:20

I had best get changed! I got dressed with the curtains shut and didnt realise it was such a horrible day!

See you all soon

xxx

elliott · 01/06/2004 10:22

hmmm, average height, short brown/grey hair, accompanied by 6 month old baby. I think it will all be pretty obvious and I will recognise rolymoly and niceglasses anyway (and miranda if she's still coming).
Niceglasses, yes thanks very much, they arrived just before we left! V. useful as it was quite cold during the night....hope you are feeling better now.

rolymoly · 01/06/2004 10:41

miranda/elliott--would you like a lift? I will call you elliott, and have sent my phone number to you, miranda, via contact another talker, but if it doesn't get there, you could post here and we could try to arrange something.

Honeysuckle · 01/06/2004 19:20

hello again all - first one here tonight - the young fella must have been worn out - so much socialising in one day! It was really nice to meet everyone. Sorry should have checked to give description beforehand as you asked Popsy, then I wouldn't have been sitting opposite you both thinking, are they or aren't they?!
Hopefully the sun will shine next time we all meet and babies, toddlers can crawl, walk, run etc.

popsycal · 01/06/2004 19:51

Great to meet you all and put faces to names!
Honeysuckle - sorry that you were sat right next to me and Becca! We should have had a 'sign' or something LOL!

Sorry that I didn't get a chance to chat properly with everyone.....had to make sure that DS was entertained or he would have wanted to walk around much much earlier than he did! He fell asleep on the way home and slept until I woke him at 4:30!!

Lovely to meet you all - let's arrange something else and pray for sunshine!!

Mu42 · 24/02/2005 11:30

hello all

Just spotted this thread. If you get togethers are still ongoing, please let me know (I am a new mum whose family does not live locally so any new contacts would be great).

Thanks

miranda2 · 24/02/2005 11:39
