I lost all my excess weight two years LCHFing. It's crept back on over the past year as ive reaching for the frackers, been, eating the kids chips etc. Carb creep and not tracking...means I'm 15lbs over where I like to be ☹️

So, I need to reboot.

I've started tracking today. My aim is to have less than thirty grams carbs a day...

I am armed with double cream, babybel and dark chocolate.

Anyone want to join me?

It takes a while to get the hang of living but carrots etc still better than the white potatoes etc we would normally eat.!

Well done 50. What have you had today?

I am Day 9. Lazy KetoD

Not doing it for weight loss. Doing it to stop me binge eating, it’s the only thing that works.

B -3 boiled eggs and butter

L broccoli and Stilton soup. Coconut chips

D tuna mayo salad followed by grenade bar.

Should have had the chips and bar but felt really snacky.

On holiday in Scotland with family and it’s freezing and miserable!

Good luck everyone!!

Well done Mrs Floss. Harder when you're on holiday.

B- omelette - 2 eggs, bacon, butter, cream, spinach, tea with milk
L - chicken, 1 egg, rocket, spring onion, radish, oil dressing
D - minced beef bologese with cream and cheese (family had spaghetti and garlic bread with it..)
S - mint tea dark chocolate - 2 squares.

Lots and lots of water and a rehydration tablet.

50, you are doing brilliantly. I can’t wait to start properly next week. We’ll be visiting friends this weekend so I’ll be eating what’s given to me (will try to limit carbs the best I can though).

I have started slowly by dropping all obvious carbs (potatoes, cake, rice etc), I will dive in this woe head first from next week onwards! :-)

Livinglifepeachy · 03/04/2018 00:20

Are we allowed banana chips?

Livinglifepeachy · 03/04/2018 07:35

Isn't cheese à carbohydrate as it contains milk which is lactose?

TinaBacon · 03/04/2018 07:49

Good luck to everyone starting today! 🥚 🥓

Day 3 for me. On my own for most of the week with DS and I find that easier as DH is a big carb eater. Next week on holiday at my sisters so not sure how that will work Hmm

JumpingintoLCHF · 03/04/2018 09:16

I'm on it today. Lost 2 and half stone last year on it.

frasier · 03/04/2018 10:46

JumpingintoLCHF Wow, how long did that take?

vintagebella · 03/04/2018 11:36

Just had my usual breakfast/brunch of a 2 egg omelette (cooked in butter) with spinach, chestnut mushrooms and a bit of strong cheese. Yum! A litre of water already, also 2 coffees with alpro soya cream and a chai tea with almond milk.

Not sure what's for dinner yet, will check back later. I need to be accountable Grin

vintagebella · 03/04/2018 11:40

livinglifepeachy Very few foods are zero carbs so yes, cheese does have some carbs because of the lactose. If you check the packet its very low though, well under the 5g per 100g that's recommended for low carb ways of eating. Something about the processing of cheese makes it lower carb than milk though which is why you swap your milk to full fat and limit it. Both cream and almond milk are much lower carbs than milk. Also, cheese is high fat (never buy low fat cheese) so its good for satisfying you for longer.

Frasier I start3e dabbling in May buy only seriously cut carbs mid sept. Havemt lost anything since just before Christmas though so need to get serious again.

JumpingintoLCHF · 03/04/2018 12:07

How bad is a Costa latte with coconut milk? asking for a friend

TinaBacon · 03/04/2018 13:54

Can anyone look at these pics for me? I’m struggling to find a total carbs calulator, plenty of net carb ones, so I’m winging it a bit.

I’m presuming I need 50g or less of total carbs a day. Why is it on the nutrients screen protein and fat are roughly equal, but there’s a big difference on the macros screen?

Thanks 50. Will try have black moving forward.

I have started properly today but need to get a big stricter tomorrow as slipped and had milk in my coffee.

Feeling good though and not hungry! Also went for an hour fast walk after trying on my bikini. That was motivation enough!

How's everyone else done today?

50andgoingstrong · 03/04/2018 18:25

Great breakfast vintage

I think that cheese is allowed in moderation. It can slow down weight loss in some people.

Im not an expert at all, there are wiser people on the boot camp threads.

Oops typo

10g fibre deducted!

Had such an amazing meal eggs chicken breast bacon and cream panned together with seasoning it was amazing! Thank you for the cheese clarification. I went to lidl today and brought lots of nuts as snacks brought flavoured teas and lots of meat. I am shocked at how much food contains bucket load of sugar really an eye opener. Currently weighing in at 74kg need to get to 65kg hopefully this is a start to a healthier lifestyle x

vintagebella · 03/04/2018 19:49

Dinner of home made fish pie with swede as the topping, broccoli, cauli and green beans with butter. One piece of 85% chocolate and a coffee. Snacks earlier of some pork scratchings and half an avocado that had to be used. Will have another chai tea before bed and need to have another half litre of water - should be doable!

frasier · 03/04/2018 21:29

What's the water recommendation? I don't think I'm drinking enough...

50andgoingstrong · 03/04/2018 23:08

Great living you won't look back. Lidl is good for this way of eating. Went this evening. Got steak, asparagus, mushrooms, green leafy stuff, salmon, cream, ham, bacon, butter. Eggs. All the lovely things 🙂

I find almonds are good, but I only have 6 or 12. You've got to watch with nuts as it's easy to eat too many then they rack up the carbs!

I think with water just drink as much as possible. There's a chart on one of the ketogenic diet sites with your weight and how much you should have. I think mine said 3 litres a day!
