I lost all my excess weight two years LCHFing. It's crept back on over the past year as ive reaching for the frackers, been, eating the kids chips etc. Carb creep and not tracking...means I'm 15lbs over where I like to be ☹️

So, I need to reboot.

I've started tracking today. My aim is to have less than thirty grams carbs a day...

I am armed with double cream, babybel and dark chocolate.

Anyone want to join me?

Oh my thanks for the nugget idea I am so going to try that! Destiny could you please give me your recipes as I don't get what half cups etc in measurements mean I work in kg or lbs!!😍 💕

BangingOn · 09/04/2018 21:08

Please can I join in?

I lost 3.5 stone following India Knight’s Idiot Proof Diet (the stupidly named Pig 2 Twig) about 8 years ago and kept it off until pregnancy and serious carb cravings came along. DS is now 4 and I can’t keep calling it baby weight so I am back with a vengeance.

I’m 4 weeks in and a stone down, which I’m fairly pleased with, although the weight definitely came off more quickly when I was younger Shock I’m finding it easier this time around- Keto type eating is more socially acceptable, there are loads of great recipe ideas online and you can buy cauliflower rice in every supermarket.

I forgot how difficult the first day was.
But, I managed.
Even made cakes with the dc!

abitoflight · 10/04/2018 00:43

@50andgoingstrong
Where do you look up your total carbs? I've been googling individual foods but need a concerted approach and a plan as just readying for holiday and my normal holiday clothes too small
Need to lose a stone

Feliciaxxx · 10/04/2018 03:02

Thanks for the welcome! Am struggling at work without the chocolate but determined to try.
So far; Coffee with cream when I got up
Broccoli and stilton soup with bacon bits (recipe from bootcamp)
2 little cheeses
2 more cups of coffee & cream
6 raspberries and a tablespoon of cream
Still seems like too much cream though!
Have bought myself some pate, corned beef, ham etc for tomorrow night to substitute for the cream and raspberries so we'll see how that goes . . . .

Destinysdaughter · 10/04/2018 06:51

It’s worth buying a set of measuring cups, I got some pretty cheap at Tesco’s, as a lot of low carb recipes online are American and they use that measuring system.

Re chicken nuggets, think I’ve used 2 tablespoons of milled flaxseed, one tablespoon of almond flour, a tablespoon of sesame seeds and a teaspoon of garlic salt and of paprika. You can then fry it or bake it.

Cabbage carbonara is also nice, you can find recipes for it online.

Livinglifepeachy · 10/04/2018 09:03

Hey did any of you experience feeling sick all the time? I'm 100% sure am not pregnant and I know I am having enough salt and water but I can't for the life of me stop feeling sick to the point where I'm forcing myself to eat otherwise am happy going food less. Eg yesterday I had cheese strings avocado babybel and that weird cookie pancake crap and I only had a quarter and chucked the rest away. I just feel nauseated all the time I forced myself to cook beef with double cream and mushrooms today and am struggling to eat it whilst am writing this.

Livinglifepeachy · 10/04/2018 09:06

I am definitely invest in measuring cups thank you for the tip!

Livinglifepeachy · 10/04/2018 09:30

I've just taken some vitamin code vitamins in case its to do with my vitamins being out of wack. I had a blood test on Friday so maybe if it is that I will know end of this week. Anyhoo hope you all have a great day today x x

BangingOn · 10/04/2018 17:21

I do feel ill if I don’t take all of my supplements, I take so many now that I need a daily pill organiser. I’m definitely heading towards middle age...

50andgoingstrong · 10/04/2018 17:40

living I often get a slightly nauseous very full feeling after a high fat low carb meal and don't always feel hungry at mealtimes.

My blood tests came back had a call from the doctor telling me to pick up my vitamin D prescription as its really low. Might have a play in this. I had 3 slice of watermelon today and honestly felt like crap and now have a migraine.

Are a few chicken nuggets allowed?

50andgoingstrong · 11/04/2018 12:29

Well done threeminis first few days are the hardest!

I use MFP abitoflight you can alter the macros and the dusty gives you total carbs/fat/protein etc per day.

Total carbs is what some use. Some focus on net carbs so they deduct the fibre.

Welcome banging wow a stone in four weeks is incredible!

I have lost 5.5lbs in eight days and am now in the normal BMI range. I know you shouldn't get caught up on those measures but I do feel better knowing I'm not 'medically overweight' my trousers feel nicer too which is motivating me!

Just had a delicious prawn salad for lunch and feel so full. Didn't have breakfast as wasn't hungry. Anyone else finding that?!

Destinysdaughter · 11/04/2018 15:21

AnnaT45 one of the great things about this diet is that fat doesn't impact on your blood sugar and also keeps you full for longer, so yes, it's pretty normal to not feel hungry a lot of the time! 😀

BangingOn · 11/04/2018 17:27

Thanks Anna, I usually lose a lot in the first few weeks and then level off at 2-3lbs a week. You’ve done brilliantly too- I will be delighted when I get to ‘normal’ weight.

I’ve been struggling with breakfast too, low sugar protein shakes are handy for when I’m not hungry but know I will feel better for having something. My current obsession is a golden syrup flavour shake which is amazing.

BangingOn · 11/04/2018 20:27

Just wanted to share my dinner tonight as it was so delicious- Aldi Italian style chicken chipolatas (I know, they sound Hmm but they are lovely and very low carb), with grilled aubergine and halloumi with a spoonful of rose harissa paste.

Unlike some meals it didn’t feel like it was missing carbs and it was quick to make.

Destinysdaughter · 11/04/2018 20:40

I think breakfast is the hardest part of this diet tbh. Here are some things I have had:

Philadelphia cheese wrapped with ham, smoked salmon or beef
Almond flour muffins or brownies
Hard boiled eggs
Pre cooked sausages
Almond flour crackers with cheese or pate
A slice of tomato, topped with salami and mozzarella, cook in the oven for 5 mins till cheese has melted.
Almond flour pancakes with berries and cream

AnnaT45 · 11/04/2018 21:17

Thanks banging and destiny great ideas!

I made fajitas but used lettuce instead of tortilla wraps. Also didn't have salsa as I looked at the label and decided against it.

That's good to know re the hunger. I had a prawn salad for lunch and was barely hungry till 8. Even then didn't feel starving!

Butterfly1975 · 11/04/2018 21:28

Just completed my first 2 days back on the LC wagon.

Not too bad despite dull headache and constant lure of the DC leftover Easter eggs in the cupboard Blush

I've bought the Rose Elliott vegetarian LC books. Still think it's going to be a challenge without meat so please do share any good LC vegetarian meals you have discovered!

Am inspired by the sound of almond flour pancakes and also looking forward to making Rose Elliot's Almond and Lemon cake this weekend Grin

Livinglifepeachy · 11/04/2018 21:31

Gosh you all make such nice food I need to cook more. I've made progress I've drank raw water for the first time 1.5l on my second bottle of evian. My family and friends are so shocked as I never drink just water hate the taste but I managed am so proud of myself lol 😂

Destinysdaughter · 11/04/2018 21:47

If you're craving chocolate, I made these low carb Bounty bars, I used Splenda as a sweetener. If you can limit yourself to one a day, and don't have over indulging issues, they're v nice!

Destinysdaughter · 11/04/2018 21:50

I managed to drink more water by investing in a Sodastream, makes water more interesting, you can also add fresh limes or lemons to it.

Also Cranberry juice Lite has v few carbs in it and is a nice drink.
