Morning all

I've started a new thread as the first one was taking so long to load (and also because I kept forgetting to change my Christmas name each time I posted!)

Here's the spreadsheet

@TheSoundofMusic23 you are definitely on it! I've put in your 8lb loss, as I can't see why that wouldn't have been a real loss, but feel free to change if you need to.

Great to hear that things are going well for you @MetabolicallyComplicated - especially re the bleeding.

Bugger, just posted on the old thread!!!! Oh well, c&p here 😊

Fab losses, I love hearing about them on weigh-in day!!! Just shy of 5lb down for me 😮and while I'm aware it's more to do with my visitor than me I'll take it as it also means that I've (apart from 0.2lb) lost a stone since starting on the summer bootcamp in June, and I'm officially overweight instead of obese in BMI terms! My ultimate target is to get into the healthy BMI range which is another 18lb (feel so ashamed about letting it get to this point) but I'm so pleased that it's been so easy to get back on track after a major blip in autumn and a bit of a half-hearted go at the pre-Christmas BC.
For the first time for me on BC I'm actually sleeping better as well which is a gamechanger after spending most of the last 3 years exhausted.
Planning to IF until lunchtime today with just herbal tea then an omelette for lunch and then salmon fillet with salad for dinner. The carbies are on pizza and salad at various different times due to training etc so I can eat what I want yay!!!!

Wow, I’ve lost 5lb! I’ve been really good, drunk all the water, reduced my eating window and stopped snacking but even so, 5lb!! I’m chuffed :-) I’m wondering if it’s hormonal in part - I’ve struggled with my weight since I hit peri. Low carbing worked reallly well with quick results in my 30s but since my hormones went wallop I have really struggled. Nothing seems to work. Has anyone else found that? I’m having fibroids removed and an endometrial ablation in a couple of weeks so I had an injection just before Christmas so shut down my ovaries. I’m wondering if messing with my hormones has helped with the weight loss …

Happy eating this week … I’m away all week with work. I shall be armed with hand bag cheese and a positive start after this morning’s weigh in. Luckily there is an M&S in the town I’m working in so I can have some carpet picnics in the hotel. Have a good week everyone :-)

Well, yes and no!

Don't undermine your achievement. The weight loss has come about because of what you have been doing. But yes, it's hormonal in that by low carbing you're keeping the key hormones insulin, grehlin and leptin in balance, which means you won't be eating as much and you're keeping your blood sugar levels more stable, hence not laying down the fat and thus losing weight.

@TheOnlyMrsW being overweight rather than obese is marvellous, isn't it? Well done.

I know that this January Bootcamp is a short challenge - and that most of us will need to continue after it finishes to achieve our ultimate weight target.

But I thought it would be useful to set ourselves some short-term goals, as it makes it so much more motivating to know that you've achieved something more quickly. Knowing that you have 2/4/6/10 or more stones to lose can be so overwhelming that sometimes it's enough to sabotage your best efforts.

So whereas my ultimate goal is to get down to 9 stone, for this challenge - quite apart from the issue of staying alcohol free! - is to shed the next 5.25lbs so that the scales start with a 9 rather than a 10. 9.13 would take my BMI to 25.4, which is just 0.4 over the top end of a desirable weight for my height.

In the three weeks that are left, I'm hopeful that this is achievable.

What's your goal for the next three weeks?

Some amazing losses here, congratulations to the losers. For anyone who is stuck, don't panic, if you koko the losses are just a poo or a whoosh away!

I was clearing away leftovers yesterday so mostly more of the same food:
B: Leek and ham c quiche
L: Cauliflower cheese soup
S: Bacon ribs and coleslaw

cathyandclaire · 08/01/2024 09:09

Great idea to have achievable goals.

My main aim is to stick to the boot camp plan of regular meals and enough water and to restart exercise at least twice a week.

As a by-product I'm hoping this will help me lose another 4lb, which takes me to the weight where I start to feel comfortable in my clothes.

blackteaplease · 08/01/2024 09:11

I posted this on the other thread but my goal for this bootcamp is to get my BMI down from obese and into the overweight category. Ultimately I'd like to get to a healthy BMI but I'm chunking down the targets to keep my spirits up.

LilianaVikavanovich · 08/01/2024 09:18

2 lb off !
I name changed from @Applecrumble but I’m quite happy to keep that name on the spread sheet

BIWI · 08/01/2024 09:20

@mimosa1 and @almahart you're both on the spreadsheet, and posting - but you haven't entered anything yet. Do you want me to take you off? (Obviously you can still post!)

I've tidied up the spreadsheet by removing anyone who hasn't entered any data and who didn't respond to me tagging them. I've also re-alphabetized it. It makes it a lot easier to read this way.

Please can you check to make sure I haven't deleted you by mistake?!

TIA

You're not on the spreadsheet @LilianaVikavanovich - would you like me to add you?

BIWI · 08/01/2024 09:23

Oh - sorry! Cross posted! If you're going to use your namechange, I'll make that change on the spreadsheet though, as it's less confusing. (I'm easily confused Grin)

Are you applerumleandcustard?

Only -2lbs for me but I’m staying positive! Like you @BIWI I’m looking to get to 9 stone but happy with my weight starting with a 9 right now!

Only 2lbs?!

This is a picture of 1lb of fat. Now tell me 'only'!

Placemarking. Will do goals this evening!

poorbuthappy · 08/01/2024 09:52

Repeat post alert.

Down 5lb. So pleased!
Looking forward to another good week!!

poorbuthappy · 08/01/2024 09:56

Goals:
Dry Jan. (Have to put this as whilst I know it's part of this boot camp I will be ridiculously proud of myself for doing it)
Next goal is to get to single figures for pounds. Another 4 off will do that. And then I'll be at my starting weight from the Oct 20 boot camp 🙄 😂

I'm going to my goals weekly So this is this weeks.

Metabolicallycomplicated · 08/01/2024 10:16

Love the idea of small goals! I'm not putting a weight goal out into the universe just yet given I have 7 stone to lose before i exit obese and enter the overweight category, and I find that all a bit overwhelming. I've never not been obese, even at 3 years old my mum still has my red book from the early 90's and I was obese according to my centiles even then! The closest I've ever gotten was at the age of 19 when I got my BMI down to 31, and the last time I low carbed properly when I was 27 and got down to 34. I'm currently at 47 (well, 46.7 as of weigh in this week) so there's a long long way to go.

Instead, my goals are less weight driven for now, and I want to focus on just staying motivated and keeping going no matter what.

LadyBird1973 · 08/01/2024 10:29

Thanks for the new thread Biwi.
I've been brave and got on the scales. Am 2lb down, despite my disastrous week (have had a 9 day totm, headache for 2 weeks and generally not been in the right headspace). But I said on the other thread, I'm back on it seriously now.

I think gammon for dinner tonight - not sure what to do with it though as I can't cook it in Coke or smother it in honey!

LadyBird1973 · 08/01/2024 10:30

Forgot to say, that my goal for the next 3 weeks will a to drop 5lb, which would get me just under 11 stone. Overall aim is the lose 1 - 1.5 stone long term.

AIBConsiderate · 08/01/2024 10:57

8lb off! I'm so chuffed, I've never ever lost that much in one week.

My short term goal is to stick to bootcamp for the whole month. I've always struggled with my weight as an adult, but this last year has been significantly worse as I've not been able to string even a week of healthy eating together. If I can get a month through, I feel much more confident of riding that momentum into the rest of the year.

BIWI · 08/01/2024 10:59

@AIBConsiderate Brilliant loss! Can I just say, going forward (I hate that phrase), that meal planning will be a massive help to you here. If you know what you're going to cook/eat, and you've bought all the ingredients, it's much, much easier to stay on track.

As well as making sure that you've got rid of as many of the things that might tempt you as possible!

Morning all- I have lost 6lb and I am delighted! I’ve been weighing in every day and so to see a bit coming off every day this year so far has been awesome. Aware it won’t last and have got the Happy Scales app- thank you for that one- in advance.

At the start of Jan my goal was to lose 8lb by the end of the month- and I’ll stick to that even if I exceed it this month. my other goal is to stay sober for January and to establish a new morning routine with some weights/bands exercises every day even if just 15 min as consistency is key.
