Week 3 Pre-Christmas 22 Boot Camp

Good morning! Smile

Here we are at Week 3 already Shock

So today you have a choice: you can move on to Bootcamp Light, if you wish - which means you can re-introduce some fruit, some nuts/seeds and some (low carb) alcohol (drye wine and certain spirits). Note the use of the word some! This means in moderation - and not all of them at the same time Wink

If you wish, you can also now introduce/re-introduce intermittent fasting - most people drop breakfast, but it's up to you how you want to do this. @StuntNun has a thread about how to combine fasting with low carb for anyone who is interested in this approach.

You can, if you wish, remain on Bootcamp, if it suits you and it's working for you. Alternatively you can adopt a hybrid - so Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Whichever route you decide upon, good luck! Flowers

A reminder re weeks 3 & 4 (and even 5)

It is very, very common for weight loss to slow or stop in weeks 3 and 4. If this happens to you, know that it's not just you! It's also very unlikely to be something you're doing, or not doing, if you've lost in the previous two weeks.

Just KOKO and things will get going again for you.

It is, though, also something to bear in mind if you do decide to switch to Bootcamp Light.

I’m tagging @FinallyHere to ask her to link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness so that I don’t link to an out-of-date one Blush

Good luck to everyone - hope you're continuing to see results either (or both) on the scales or NSVs (Non Scales Victories - leg clothes fitting better or better skin or more energy)

Hello @Danny80 and welcome to Bootcamp

I've added your username to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness in case you choose to keep track of our weight Whatever you decide, have a look at all the information on the other tabs, too

ChimneyPot · 03/11/2022 09:22

I haven’t contributed much recently but have been reading.
My weight has plateaued and I was blaming it on the US trip with hidden carbs in restaurant dishes and the odd glass of wine.
But I think maybe as I am in the healthy BMI range I might need to pay attention to calories as well at this stage.
I am 5’5” and 144.2lbs

FinallyHere · 03/11/2022 09:54

healthy BMI range

Congratulations @ChimneyPot that's a seriously good milestone.

venusandmars · 03/11/2022 15:05

I had a meeting to attend early this morning and then my friend and I went for a late breakfast - smoked salmon with poached eggs for me, with coffee served with cream. My friend had a stack of pancakes and syrup which just looked a bit heavy and soggy.

Don't feel the need for any lunch. Dinner will be corn-beef hash (the hash made with turnip rather than potato). Some buttery leeks mixed through it as well.

Backstreets · 03/11/2022 15:59

im in the annoying interim phase where my normal trousers look baggy and bad but the size down only just zips up haha

had casserole leftovers, so delicious, and remembered to bring lunch from home on a day-on-the-run. Not expecting good results this week as it got a bit derailed but I’m still on the path!

debka · 03/11/2022 16:45

Fancy lunch was lovely!

They brought us tiny amuse bouche, then I had pork rillettes with tartare sauce, then a whole mackerel for main. There wasn't cheese listed for dessert but I turned down the chocolate mousse and the creme brûlée and had cheese instead, with a few very thin crackers. I had water to drink. All in all pretty low carb I would say, and very delicious! I'll probably just have some yoghurt later.

Managed a good run on the treadmill this morning too - the gym was FULL of people running who were hiding from the torrential rain I think!

debka · 03/11/2022 17:08

Here are the amuse bouche and my glorious FISH!

Evening all. Late adding to the spreadsheet but somehow I've lost 5lbs this week!

KOKO everyone!

FinallyHere · 03/11/2022 18:39

Brilliant @CleanQueen123 well done.

ZiggZagg · 03/11/2022 19:36

Evening all.

Busy day today, I've had my flu and pneumonia jabs this afternoon after work!

L was Greek yogurt with cinnamon
S was celery and cheese
D was tuna mayo and celery

Too tired to cook, tomorrow's another day Wink

Baystard · 03/11/2022 20:16

Wow, what a fish @debka Shock

I don't know if you should start worrying about calories @ChimneyPot. A plateau isn't unusual and even if it's not a plateau you may be changing your body composition (more muscle less fat). Have you tried measuring as well as/instead of weighing for a while? I'd be worried that if you're eating healthily, to satiety, and you then start reducing your calories, you'll end up being hungry. Then your body might compensate by hanging onto the fat it does have, and you might be more vulnerable to making poor decisions.

Flat out at work so another day without lunch, nor did I notice particularly. Good dinner of sausages leftover from kids tea, cheeseboard (another fig, sorry @prettybird but the manchego really needs it - finished that tonight though so last one for a while), and double cream hot chocolate.

Still not weighed! I have never gone this long without weighing except for during binging spells, it feels good just going with the flow this time.

ZiggZagg · 03/11/2022 20:48

I've got exciting news!

We're getting a puppy!

Just thinking of all those lovely autumn/winter/spring/summer walks with my own little poochy!

I've arranged to visit her/ pick her up on Sunday, now just to convince the husband 🙈

BIWI · 03/11/2022 21:29

Oooh! What are you getting?

ZiggZagg · 03/11/2022 21:47

A cockapoo.

I wanted to rescue but they won't rehome with DS only being 4. Breeder seems reputable and puppies are from much loved family pets. Although I don't necessarily agree with the breeding of dogs I wanted a puppy as need it to grow with the kids and at least I know the history.

Im far too excited, please be prepared for puppy pictures, it may stop me eating Wink

Skiphopbump · 03/11/2022 22:48

@ZiggZagg can’t wait for the puppy pictures! I have a cockerpoo and she’s been amazing for the whole family, so uplifting!

ditavonteesed · 04/11/2022 06:33

Wow @debka that looks wonderful.
@ZiggZagg well done on the jabs, I keep putting mine off cause I'm so fed up of feeling unwell. Ooooo puppy Eric and Susu say hi puppy and they look forward to lots of puppy photos.(I got puppy broody it's worse than baby broody).
@Backstreets that is annoying, don't you have any in between elasticated trousers 😂
@ChimneyPot well done on the healthy bmi. That is ultimately my goal but I keep annoyingly floating around the 26 mark which I'm not going to lie is very irritating to me.
My head hurts. Pub crawl was fun, too much lager and no food. Scales will not be kind to me this week but life happens. If your doing a life long way of eating there will always be times when you have to make choices else your never going to be able to stick to it. My choice tonight is that I'm going to drive as I can't face gin night, so I'll have cup of tea night while the others drinks gin. There will be cheese.

ditavonteesed · 04/11/2022 08:23

I'm sat here drinking coffee and trying to wake up and today suddenly feels like one of those milestone days. Like the decision I make now can put me on a spiral in either direction. I obviously really want a sausage egg and brown sauce bitty because, well you know.
I can give in to that, sit in my pjs and fester for the day.

Or I can drag my arse round the park with the dogs, walk to sainsburys and buy myself all the low carb treats I want, eat as much as I want without any guilt and have control of my life.
So on that note what treats would you buy from sainsburys? The saltier and fattier the better. I'm thinking good quality sausages and bacon for breakfast. Maybe some halloumi. And maybe duck for dinner.

AlhambraQueen · 04/11/2022 09:20

Just been hit with my period and a really bad cold. I'm eyeing up the bagels in the kitchen but trying to stay strong. Just had a coffee with cream

BIWI · 04/11/2022 09:50

Just remember that what might feel like a treat in the moment, will be something that makes you feel really bad tomorrow!

ChimneyPot · 04/11/2022 10:32

@ditavonteesed I was feel you pain. I was also out last night, though stuck to dry white wine with dinner followed with vodka and slimline tonics. No headache just really tired. I think the Hi5 Zero tablet when I got in last night and another this morning helped.

Think I will walk the dog to wake myself up and then have low carb sausages, bacon and mushrooms

ditavonteesed · 04/11/2022 11:17

@ChimneyPot great minds I'm just getting through my first 1.5l of water with high 5 tablet. Dogs walked and shopping done. I had pigs in blankets and scrambled eggs was lush. I got the really posh ones so they are low carb although I know more processed than ideal.

debka · 04/11/2022 11:26

@ditavonteesed totally feel your pain! For me it's do I / don't I go to the gym- and I always feel so much better when I do. I try not to even give myself the option of staying in bed. Well done for getting up and about and I hope you enjoyed your breakfast!

ditavonteesed · 04/11/2022 11:29

@debka I think the gym may be a step too far. I've been everyday this week so I factored in a day off. I am going to have to give in and have a nap. Got the house to myself as I didn't realise dd had uni today so I feel like it would be a waste not to nap 😂

ditavonteesed · 04/11/2022 11:33

In other excellent news tonight has been cancelled. I have what one of my friends refers to as jomo joy of missing out. Like fomo for the old.

BIWI · 04/11/2022 11:39

I love a good JOMO
