Hello! Our final weigh in at last! Thank you for joining @Oneborneverydecade and I for our first ever mini-Bootcamp. And big thanks to @ouchmyfeet for taking over Spreadsheet duties.

Speaking of... here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness on its final outing.

Normal service will be resumed next month by @BIWI for the run-up-to-Christmas Bootcamp. So no falling off the wagon stick with Bootcamp Light until the new Bootcamp starts. A sign up thread will be started in due course.

Happy Monday! STS this week, but did have my less than successful night out on Wednesday and another situation on Saturday when we went to a village fete where I thought there would be burgers that I could eat without the bun, but it turned out the only food was a pizza van. I've chalked it up to experience and am proud that I went straight back to it on Sunday, despite the fact that I'd made cake for visitors. Arrived at school today to find that we are going to be inspected this week, and also hoping to exchange on our house purchase, so it's going to be a week and a half!

colouringindoors · 27/09/2021 15:22

Back yo 11'2. These pounds around the 11st mark are very resistant. Soooooo want to get under 11st - will be first time in 2 yrs, and 11st used to be an bad weight (now used to it)

Hope everyone has a good week

Dellabob123 · 27/09/2021 20:57

Can’t remember who told me about the Otto lenghi roasted celeriac, but I did it tonight, and wow, amazing. Thank you ! I did a beef casserole and had as my side dish. Really yummy- didn’t do the sauce though.

Veg soup for lunch and scrambled egg and sausages for breakfast. No alas today, but good amount of veg. Hope that counts!

FusionChefGeoff · 27/09/2021 23:03

I'm on a work trip overnight so took packed lunch, boiled eggs and some gammon chunks for my looooong train journey.

Then treated myself to Miller and Carter. My God. Glorious steak, add on prawns and scallops plus TWO salads - the normal 'wedge' with garlic Mayo and grana padano plus a lovely oily side salad.

Finished off with some surprisingly good 85% dark choc from the co-op.

Will be filling up on hotel breakfast tomorrow as lunch will be classic 'working lunch' bread based extravaganza.

StuntNun · 28/09/2021 19:14

I've wanted to try Miller and Carter for ages but last year's autumn lockdown meant my reservation got cancelled. Sad

Oh no I'm talking to myself again - never mind!

Well, today in theory could have been a disaster as I was away and out abs about all day. But this was my survival strategy:

Hotel breakfast - would normally fast but filled up on pretty grotty sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, bit of plastic cheese and ham.

Not very nice but meant I was full and not tempted when walking through station / when pastries came out at the meeting!

Researched a Tesco Metro and left a bit early to get to meeting and just grabbed bag of leaves, box of chicken, egg pot and bottle of Mayo.

That was lunch - easily available, cheap and totally on plan and quite yummy!

Then again, left a bit more time to sort food before return train: block of nice cheese and bag of celery from Sainsbos local and a tuna Niçoise salad from Pret.

Leftover dark choc from last night.

I was so full all day I was never tempted by the many many off plan options (Krispy Kreme!!) and feel I've eaten very well.

Really pleased that something so unknown worked out so well!

FusionChefGeoff · 28/09/2021 19:17

Yay hi @StuntNun I was feeling lonely there!! Honestly book again it was awesome

venusandmars · 28/09/2021 22:16

@FusionChefGeoff well done you!! It's sometimes taking those few minutes to grab something from M&S that makes the difference to this woe. For me, it is partly the 'intention'. I will buy some prawns and mayo / ham rollotios / olives and I won't eat the sandwiches and donuts

I went to a friend's today, she was doing some sewing alterations on a dress for me, so by way of thanking her I said I'd take lunch. Prawns in mayo, salmon, salad. A few berries and cream. It was a good plan.

Then a chicken and veg red thai curry for dinner.

I think I've lost 2lbs since returning from my holiday. Will see if it is the same tomorrow, or just a fluctuation.

venusandmars · 29/09/2021 17:12

I've had a good couple of days. I've been busy and I notice that it's so much easier to get back into 16/8 intermittent fasting. Had the remainder of the prawns and salmon with salad for lunch and will have sausages for dinner with broccoli, cauliflower and green beans.

colouringindoors · 29/09/2021 23:11

Hi! Sorry, shit week at wirk inc death of a lovely colleague (cancer, mot picked up soon enough due to covid nhs carnage. So had wine Mon and Tue. Better day today so hoping I've just stayed the same.

venusandmars · 30/09/2021 11:23

@colouringindoors sorry to hear that, and it's so easy to revert to the usual list of things that give comfort or reduce stress (food, drink etc). Maybe sticking with this woe might offer a little sense of control in a chaotic world Flowers

FusionChefGeoff · 30/09/2021 20:25

Tried an aubergine and feta bake today loosely based on one of the veggie recipe threads - used parsley, basil, chopped Tom's and feta as a topping with lots of garlic olive oil. Very nice and very filling!!

Weighing tomorrow and even though I've been sticking to my Strict+ regime I know I'm still overeating / bingeing so don't expect miracles.

I've opened up to another friend about my past / current disordered eating patterns as I know she's been through similar and is out the other side so to speak so I'm still trying to make changes - just taking quite a while to have any affect.

FusionChefGeoff · 01/10/2021 07:10

Well that was depressing - up 2.5lbs!!! And no obvious reason (eg period, long run / exercise hanging onto water, carb fest..)

I know I've been eating too much and being able to snack on cheese and Mayo has always seemed odd when I'm trying to lose weight - but 2.5lbs in a week seems a but unfair Sad.

ditavonteesed · 01/10/2021 07:18

@FusionChefGeoff it'll come off again, you haven't put 2.5lbs of fat on. Koko it'll come back off quickly.
I went out for a meal last night and was completely off plan, I have night s all weekend was planning on soup and almond muffins for my meals. What soups are good? I feel like we've reached soup weather. Or do I need to make my own?

FusionChefGeoff · 01/10/2021 07:49

@ditavonteesed thank you - I mustn't let it get me down but I was hoping to keep losing slowly. I am almost back to post holiday weight now!

As you say, KOKO and if I'm really serious I need to get back to proper fasting and stop the insane amounts of fridge grazing that go on.

I might see if moving into BC light rules this week helps as psychologically I won't feel so 'deprived' so might stop the ridiculous late night binges.

For soups, I have a bag in the freezer of leftover cauli and broccoli stalks and leaves, leek tops, parsley stalks etc. Then when it's full I sauté some shallots and celery, add my bag of veg and enough water to cover. Add 4 tsp of veg bouillon and some white pepper and simmer for 30 mins or so. Blitz with hand blender and serve with double cream and Parmesan.

Of course you could use fresh actual cauliflower, broccoli, leeks and parsley but I love feeling like I've got free food made entirely of waste Grin

venusandmars · 01/10/2021 09:22

@FusionChefGeoff that must be very frustrating. Are there other measures of progress you can use - how good your skin looks, your blood pressure, clothes you can wear? I find that a commitment to IF helps to control my snacking. After dinner, the kitchen 'closes' at 8pm. I tidy things away, switch off the lights. I take a giant mug of herbal tea out of the kitchen with me then only drink water after that - so no need to boil the kettle and open the fridge for a graze while I'm waiting Again I try to focus on the health benefits of fasting, rather that the potential weight loss benefits.

@ditavonteesed I make stock with the chicken bones and nearly always have some in the freezer. My spimlest recipe is chicken stock blended with butter and cream, maybe add a few finely chopped mushrooms or some bits of bacon. It's really luxurious but not exactly full of veg. For veg soup, I'm very similar to fusion with a bag of asparagus stalks, cauliflower bits etc. I often add half a bag of baby spinach, just at the end and then blend it all with butter. If it's just cauliflower (and shallot) then I add cream and a big grating of nutmeg. Or curry flavours - curried cauliflower soup is great. If I've made a veg curry and have left overs, I sometimes just add buillon powder and coconut milk and blend. DON'T attempt soup with aubergine - it has the look and texture of wallpaper paste!!

venusandmars · 01/10/2021 09:23

simplest recipe!!

MercedesBenz · 01/10/2021 09:52

I have 8 weeks to a holiday eeek so placemarking so I can come back later today.

BIWI · 01/10/2021 10:45

Very envious that you have a holiday! Where are you going to?

Also, just to let you (and everyone else know) that I'm hoping to start the next Bootcamp on 18/10.

colouringindoors · 01/10/2021 13:11

thanks @venusandmars this woe is definitely reducing the comfort eating and drinking. Keeping motivated after the initial whoosh is a big challenge. I am considering treating myself to a leather jacket when i get to 10st7 Grin was 11st1 yesterday so hopefully not toooooo long before I get under the 11st mark!

colouringindoors · 01/10/2021 13:12

thanks BIWI that'll be good. Hoping I can shift these last 8lb in October...

TweenWrangler · 01/10/2021 13:35

Still showing the same weight as 2 weeks ago, but this would be the end of week 3 for me, and I feel that clothes are continuing to feel less tight, so I'm KOKO and keeping the faith. I'm finding that my oily fish consumption is right up, which must be a good thing!

venusandmars · 01/10/2021 17:05

@TweenWrangler oh yes on the oily fish, that is good. Always.

colouringindoors · 02/10/2021 11:15

No change here but not surprising. Resisting urge to sit in bed and eat chocolate (horrible period). Have some m and s greek yog with 3 strawberries (much better than a bar of dairy milk!).... might splash out on a steak tonight...

BestIsWest · 02/10/2021 13:48

I don’t weigh because I get disheartened by the fluctuations but measure and delighted to report that my waistline has budged at last and 2 inches have gone.
I can see a visible difference now but still a long way to go.
