Hello! Our final weigh in at last! Thank you for joining @Oneborneverydecade and I for our first ever mini-Bootcamp. And big thanks to @ouchmyfeet for taking over Spreadsheet duties.

Speaking of... here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness on its final outing.

Normal service will be resumed next month by @BIWI for the run-up-to-Christmas Bootcamp. So no falling off the wagon stick with Bootcamp Light until the new Bootcamp starts. A sign up thread will be started in due course.

Just rewatched the first episode of this to help with motivation on the health side of things

Seen Lose a Stone in 21 Days with Michael Mosley?
Watch it here on All 4: www.channel4.com/programmes/lose-a-stone-in-21-days-with-michael-mosley?cntsrc=social_share_android_lose_a_stone_in_21_days_with_michael_mosley

Not quite the same as bootcamp - keto diet - but very similar and for me helpful.

FusionChefGeoff · 17/09/2021 14:49

@colouringindoors glad everything's moving the right way!

I usually weigh on Fridays and am 1.2lb down from Monday so my reset is working. I'm also due on soon so may have a whoosh once that's out of the way.

I am however typically impatient so was hoping for more but need to relaaaaaax.

Minced lamb needs turning into something batch cook friendly - top ideas please?!

Dellabob123 · 17/09/2021 16:15

@FusionChefGeoff Glad you’re on track

With the lamb, I’d fry with herbs and onions and whisk up a feta, cream and egg mix and bake on top. Yum!

Dellabob123 · 17/09/2021 19:24

Steak, spicy celeriac chips and garlic. Uttered mushrooms for tea!

FusionChefGeoff · 17/09/2021 20:34

Oooh I've got some feta and cream in the fridge!!

What could I serve that with? For me and the carb eaters?? I guess courgettes and peppers would be nice for me and maybe peas and potatoes??

Pleaseandthankyou · 18/09/2021 09:34

@FusionChefGeoff I fry leeks, diced aubergine and diced courgette with lots of spices. I then add the minced land and server with Greek yoghurt.
The holiday weight has come off this week. I am now where I set my target last year. Another 6lbs will take me to a weight I haven’t seen since since having my babies. The babies are in their late twenties!
It has been easy losing the 3 pounds this week. I did have quite a few carbs veg as we had a glut but seem to have tolerated them.

colouringindoors · 18/09/2021 10:29

Still 11st 4 here this morning, but I did ended up drinking wine last night as my friend brought some with her and I couldn't let her drink alone 😅

But motivation still v good. Pub lunch today and every single thing on the menu comes with bread or chips but I've worked out I could ask for ham, egg and chips with salad instead of chips so will do that!

That'll be lunch and then I'm hoping to have a tiny tea eg v small prawn salad.

Jollyholibobs · 18/09/2021 10:39

Morning everyone lots of positive posts this morning the reset is working for me too.

I have a few days off work and family staying with various days out over the next few days. Hopefully the reset has got me into a place where I can continue to make the right choices. Slightly self conscious as last time these family members saw me they commented that I shouldn’t lose any more weight. Unfortunately there won’t be comments like that atm. Blush.

Love the sound of your feta concoction @Dellabob123.

I am planning slow roast celeriac with café de Paris sauce for my guests tonight. It’s a bit of a wow dish. Ottelenghi recipe. Lush.

It’s a lovely day here. Hope you all have they same. Enjoy.

Dellabob123 · 18/09/2021 10:48

And so does your roast celeriac @Jollyholibobs can you share the recipe?

StuntNun · 18/09/2021 17:49

I was on a training course today and so looked forward to my packed lunch! I had a couple of cheese muffins for break times then my lunch was cheeseburger pie with coleslaw and a huge side salad with homemade vinaigrette. Oh it was luxury and, unusually for me, I hadn't a hope of finishing it all. Contrast that with the lady I was sitting with who had a sandwich, crisps and a cinnamon bun. I can't believe people dismiss low carb as "cutting out a food group" when my lunch was so much healthier than her "normal" lunch.

Our wedding anniversary today so DH ordered a thali from our local Indian restaurant. I was very good and avoided the rice, naan an poppadums but did eat a lot of lamb, chicken and some of the different veg dishes so probably way over on carb count. Pleasantly stuffed now.

Dellabob123 · 18/09/2021 20:20

Well done @StuntNun - nothing betterSmile

I didn’t have breakfast today but I also had a win. We got the pizza over out to do lunch and the pizzas are amazing ...I watched everyone else eat one and then I cooked Moroccan chicken in it and had with a big salad. I missed the hot bananas and cream too!!

Just made a huge omelette with veg and goats cheese, really was tasty. I did also have a few peanuts...but hoping my 12 weeks maintaining might mean it will be ok!

colouringindoors · 18/09/2021 21:31

aaaaaargh my kids left some Pringles in the tube!!!

BIWI · 18/09/2021 21:37

Throw them away @colouringindoors!

colouringindoors · 18/09/2021 21:54

i have!!!

FusionChefGeoff · 20/09/2021 00:12

Checking in after a fun and productive weekend. Been sticking to my strict BC but have been over eating cheese and celery of an evening and also had a bowl of Greek yoghurt with whipped cream on Friday!!

Went out for dinner on Sat and was very easy to make good choices and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Goats cheese soufflé to start - was supposed to come with hazelnuts just asked for it without. Then the BC classic steak, garlic butter and salad but cooked perfectly and a lovely watercress, rocket and leaves salad with a grilled mushroom and confit tomato on the side. Gorgeous!! Resisted pudding too.

Crazy declutter / deep clean today stopped at 2ish for tiny pot of leftover cabbage and a bit of cod. Then collapsed about 4.30 with boiled egg Mayo avo smash and some cheese and celery. Had hm lamb koftas with halloumi / tatsiki / pitta and made a batch of Italian lamb meatballs for the freezer.

App said period not due for a week but went for a v lacklustre run on Sat and definitely knew it was coming - sure enough arrived late yesterday. Odd but explains the overeating and (hopefully) hormonal bloat.

Going to be a good week - all planned for food just need to pop into greengrocers at lunch tomorrow.

colouringindoors · 20/09/2021 00:17

Well done on the eating out!

I've stuck to BC today so really hoping to see a loss on the scales tomorrow! Got a few nice bits from m & s deli selection to help with lunches next week.

Are beansprouts ok? no go?

StuntNun · 20/09/2021 06:24

Beansprouts are low carb Colouringindoors.

I was on the road all day yesterday and did not make good food choices. Blush DS1 wanted KFC which was fair enough as it was his last treat before being left off at uni so I had two pieces of chicken. Not the worst thing to have as a one-off. But then on the way back from dropping him off the shelves at the Waitrose in the motorway services had been picked bare and I was starving so I ended up getting a bag of halloumi fries at Burger King which weren't even very nice. So I will be studiously avoiding the scales today while I get back on track. I have a huge salad and some leftover tandoori chicken for lunch.

DietStartsM0NDAY · 20/09/2021 07:29

Well done everyone on keeping with it.
I finally plucked up the courage to get on the scales yesterday after keeping strictly to BC for a week. I have around 3 stone to lose. Still I have faith in it and will keep going. The positives are I love this woe, the food seems so luxurious.
Really enjoying the Waitrose lamb shawarma and chicken dishes. Lots of salad and flgv. I've discovered a new love of Middle Eastern roast cauliflower and broccoli!!
I love reading all your posts 💪💪

ditavonteesed · 20/09/2021 07:34

I made the famed cheeseburger pie yesterday, it's lovely but I can't imagine it cold, is it really nice cold?
I have 2 weeks off work and my intention is to do a lot of exercise.
My friend bought the renpho tape measure so we had a measure yesterday and going to do weekly measurements for a couple of months, will be interesting.

Jollyholibobs · 20/09/2021 08:31

Morning all. My reset is working. 3.2lbs down this week. But for context I am still 5lb up on a month ago. Yes I had really lost the plot.

@Dellabob123 the celeriac steak recipe-
For four people I used 2 smallish celeriac. Scrub them well and trim off all the hairy roots but don’t peel. Pierce each one with a fork 40 times all over. Mix 3tsps salt into 120ml olive oil and rub over the celariac. Place on a parchment lined tray and roast at 170 fan for 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 hours basting with the oil occasionally. When cool enough to handle cut into steaks brush with the oil and the caremelised goo that has collected on the paper on both sides and grill for 7 mins.
The sauce is put 110g butter, 1 small banana shallot finely chopped, 3 anchovy fillets (drained of olive and finely chopped, 1/2 tsp medium curry powder, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, 1tbsp mustard powder, 1/4 tsp salt in a pan cook for six minutes until shallots are softened and the butter had caramelised. Add 1tbsp baby capers, 2tbsp tarragon leaves, 1tbsp chopped parsley, 2tsp thyme leaves. Cook for a further minute. When ready to serve warm up the sauce , add 110ml cream and 2tsp lemon juice. Pour over the celariac steaks and serve. Served 4 as a main with aubergine cream salad. Meant to take a photo but we devoured it before I remembered.

All from the Ottolengi Flavour book. It’s a great dish for guests so long as you prep and roast celeriac early in the day. I’ve always served as a veggie main but could also make a great side and if you are doing a roast any way, a great way to cook the celeriac with or without the sauce.

@StuntNun -days on the motorway and an inevitability! Hope DS settling in and you are not missing him too much.

On holiday at home with DM staying. Yesterday involved an extended fast as national trust café had nothing low carb on offer. Pesto topped salmon and roast veg for dinner.

B black coffee
L plan to take picnic box with me.
D Shakshuka

Looks like another lovely day weather wise.

Dellabob123 · 20/09/2021 08:49

Thanks @Jollyholibobs it sounds wonderful...although I’d have to substitute the anchovies...any alternatives to that?

StuntNun · 20/09/2021 09:10

Ditavonteesed the cheeseburger pie is even nicer cold! It's like a very filling quiche!

Well done to everyone who is keeping on going, and to those with determined plans for the week ahead. I'm enjoying the last couple of days of holiday. The last week has been very mixed food wise, rural coffee shops make for difficult choices if you're hungry.

Looking forward to being back in control of all my eating, and to having temptation well out of the way.

Dellabob123 · 20/09/2021 10:59

I just made a v late breakfast smoothie and it was yummy ...1/2 avocado, Greek yog, almond milk, hemp protein, mint, turmeric and 4 strawberries. Made a nice change from eggs! Carby-er than my normal food but just fancied a change. Hope not too detailing but think 13 weeks in now and more maintenance.
