Hello! Our final weigh in at last! Thank you for joining @Oneborneverydecade and I for our first ever mini-Bootcamp. And big thanks to @ouchmyfeet for taking over Spreadsheet duties.

Speaking of... here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness on its final outing.

Normal service will be resumed next month by @BIWI for the run-up-to-Christmas Bootcamp. So no falling off the wagon stick with Bootcamp Light until the new Bootcamp starts. A sign up thread will be started in due course.

I'm another pound down this morning. I seem to have settled into a pound a week loss which is fine and I need to be patient (not my strong point)! I've lost 20lb now and my too tight top fits perfectly. I still have such a long way to go so I hope some of you will stay around to keep me companySmile

Rayna37 · 20/09/2021 11:31

Post- holiday weigh in puts me higher than I've been for a good while, nearly a stone over target though only half that (at most) is from the holiday! Very active but carb and booze filled trip. 2 weeks is a killer!

Started the day with scrambled eggs, Greek salad for lunch and all the water.

colouringindoors · 20/09/2021 14:06

KateF I'm here for the duration!

Thanks StuntNun good to know.

L prawns (m&s coriander and chilli from deli section yummy) and salad leaves, drizzle olive oil
D I picked up this slow cooked pork thing from m&s too which I'm going to have with stirfry (inc lots beansprouts!)

No change on scales this morning. Week 3 I'm not going to see anywhere near as much change, but do like to see the lower numbers! Was 11,12 2 weeks ago, now 11,3 Grin

Keep going everyone! 💪💪💪

KateF · 20/09/2021 14:24

colouring indoors glad to know there's someone else out there! I read this thread every day. It helps keep me on track and gives me food inspiration as I can tend to eat the same meals on repeat.

B scrambled eggs, mushrooms and spinach
L mango and lime curried chicken (from Aldi, very nice), salad and mayo

No idea what dinner will be. I was going to make a beef casserole but dd1 may be coming round . If so I will have to rethink!

Jollyholibobs · 20/09/2021 15:25

@Dellabob123 anchovies are optional

ZiggZagg · 20/09/2021 17:09

Hi everyone, I've come back with (big fat) tail in between my legs Blush

I have gained 11lbs over the last 4 weeks which just shows how easy it is! Have had lots of stress, being tested for Fibromyalgia now, not Arthritis Sad Also had a bit of a stressful time in my marriage and work. However, I cope much better with stress on this WOE, feel and look better so I'm back on week one, strict bootcamp. I don't know why I haven't had the headspace but this is clearly the only way I can make the changes I need for both my mental and physical health.

Hopefully I'll be able to kick the next bootcamp off much lighter than I am now Grin

StripyTShirt · 20/09/2021 17:11

Fasted this morning.

Had leftover lamb and beef with mayo for lunch.
Dinner will be egg mayo, FLGV

Lots of water has been drunk already Smile

colouringindoors · 20/09/2021 17:18

Cortisol, the stress hormone

Cortisol stimulates fat and carbohydrate metabolism for fast energy, and stimulates insulin release and maintenance of blood sugar levels. The end result of these actions can be anincrease in appetiteand can cause cravings for sweet, high-fat, and salty foods.

Can Stress Make You Gain Weight? - MedicineNet

It's very difficult to loose weight with elevated cortisol levels as the body holds onto it.

Extreme chronic stress for 6+ years is def a big part of my weight gain.

colouringindoors · 20/09/2021 17:21

Ziggzagg don't beat yourself up about it. You're back on track now.

And Flowers for you.

BestIsWest · 20/09/2021 17:58

Flowers Ziggzagg. Have you ever been tested for Hyperparathyroidism? It’s elevated calcium and parathyroid hormone. Lots of symptoms similar to Fibromyalgia and can cause arthritis. I had it a few years back and the consensus back then was that it is under diagnosed so I always mention it when some says they are being tested for Fibro.

Lovely sunny day at the seaside today and a walk on our decaying pier. Had a coffee instead of an ice cream and felt virtuous. No breakfast so had a cheese salad for lunch and wasn’t envious of the chips being devoured by others. Came home and walked the dogs by the river and oldest has developed a limp Sad so keeping an eye on him.

StripyTShirt · 20/09/2021 19:31

All my blood tests came back normal. That's why they are looking at Fibromyalgia 🤷‍♀️ Interesting about stress, I'm no more or less stressed than usual, always had a stressful job, kids etc so maybe it's finally taking its toll on me! Anyway first day complete- having fish and FLGV for dinner and saving my egg mayo for breakfast. Just making some curry cauliflower soup and hoping my SLCRs come tomorrow Wink

agnesmartin · 20/09/2021 20:50

Hello everyone! So pleased to see this ongoing chat thread.

I was successful on this WOE this time last year and lost about 20 lbs. Had a few family upsets this year but I've managed to keep a stone off by eating lower carb than I would have prior to the bootcamp.

Had covid a few weeks ago and that has given me the kick up the arse to get the rest of the weight off. Am currently about BMI 30; am determined to get to 25.

Tomorrow:
B Eggs and bacon
L Creamy courgette soup
S Chicken curry with veg and without the chapatis!

FusionChefGeoff · 20/09/2021 20:58

Wow after a couple of days just two or three of us it's great to see soo many people here today!!!!

Haven't weighed but feeling great!

V busy day but managed my greengrocer dash.

L: avo, chic and streaky bacon salad with hm Caesar. Boiled egg and Mayo.
S: slice salami, slice German smoked cheese
D: Asian baked salmon with FLGSFV (stir fried!)

Hot bath now to keep me out of the kitchen.

colouringindoors · 20/09/2021 21:54

Traumatic therapy session.

Unmitigated bootcamp disaster.

SadSad

Jollyholibobs · 21/09/2021 07:45

@colouringindoors hope you are ok?

Great to see so many new and returning posters. @ZiggZagg same here! Reminding myself how good this WOE is for me and been back on the wagon just over a week.

@FusionChefGeoff glad to hear you so positive.

I may have a slightly testing 2 days ahead. This evening is a get together with a group of friends who have not been together in person for 18 months. It will be really lovely. The format is everyone bring some food to share. Lots of salad so it should be fine. Lots of temptation too but I will swerve.

Tomorrow I am going to Chelsea flower show meeting family and friends. Taking picnic to share.

Both occasions I risk being a bit. I don’t want anything anyone else has brought as it’s too carby and I do t want them to eat too much of mine as it’s my only option. I will need to make sure I have plenty. To share and won’t rely on what others will bring although some family members really understand this WOE a d may factor into their offerings.

Focussing on really enjoy two special events rather than stressing about the food. But that is not a mindset step to -fuck it it’s a special event -thinking.

venusandmars · 21/09/2021 08:19

@Jollyholibobs what a lovely 2 days! Today, concentrate on enjoying friendship, chatter and conversation, use your mouth for talking and smiling and laughing, not eating. And tomorrow concentrate on how all your other senses are stimulated - the root of colour, the heady scent of flowers, the sound of grasses blowing in the wind or water trickling from a 'feature'. Feast your eyes on the depth of colour and pattern. Then delight your taste buds with something similarly simple and delicate and delicious. Very envious.

FusionChefGeoff · 21/09/2021 14:31

Oh @colouringindoors that's horrible to hear. I hope you're taking care of yourself today

@Jollyholibobs sounds a lot of fun and very very wise words from @StuntNun. So much of our social / leisure activity revolves around bloody food it is hard sometimes but I love the idea of focussing on everything else instead.

FusionChefGeoff · 21/09/2021 14:31

Woops stand down @StuntNun I meant @venusandmars woops

colouringindoors · 21/09/2021 17:47

thank you x

Back on bootcamp rules today. Hope to stick to them til bedtime

L bacon, cherry toms, salad leaves
D chicken alfredo and broccoli

colouringindoors · 21/09/2021 17:52

I've been really getting the munchies around 5pm recently. Don't know why. Don't really want to snack but can't think a different drink to have. Any sugggestions re snacks/drinks v welcome

Dellabob123 · 21/09/2021 18:00

No no no no no. 13 weeks in and I just caved and had some southern fried chicken that the dc’s didn’t eat. I just lost it and ate. I’m also intolerant to gluten so will suffer. Can’t believe I did that after so long. Very cross with myself. I had to post it here to be held accountable. I was about to start prepping chicken Alfredo and now can’t face it. So cross.

colouringindoors · 21/09/2021 18:32

Sympathies. But if this is your frst slip in 13 weeks you're incredible!

Going here Sunday - DF birthday his choice. What shall I have?! 2 starters as a main?!

figorestaurant.co.uk/1614-2/

colouringindoors · 21/09/2021 18:34

Not grabbed by mains.
Aubergine and prawns?
aubergine and antipasti plate?

FusionChefGeoff · 21/09/2021 21:22

@colouringindoors can you have an early dinner instead of snacking?? If not then I find coffee distracts my taste buds enough! Or a chamomile tea?

I'd be all over pretty much all of those mains - the steak sounds amazing!

Meatballs, aubergine and one of the cheesey starters would leave me very very happy and very very full!

FusionChefGeoff · 21/09/2021 21:28

Another good day here:

S: few rollitos after Aldi shop
L: avo, smoked mackerel and hm coleslaw salad
D: home grown ' baked potato' squash with cheese and small scoop tomato pasta sauce

Resisted some gorgeous looking raspberries - I'm holding firm on the strict rules and noticing a big decrease in appetite. The hormonal snacking seems to have left for now too.
