Morning all!

here's the spreadsheet . If you haven't already seen it, check out the new info for veg/nuts/fruit that @AthelstaneTheUnready has added to it. Updated (and hopefully now the most accurate) data for all three categories, and all grouped into traffic light categories - green to eat freely (when allowed, in the case of nuts and fruit), amber to be more cautious about and red to avoid as much as possible.

If there's a particular ingredient that isn't on there, just let me know and I'll find the data for that and add it.

And now to week 4

A reminder that this week is also one where you're unlikely to see much loss - and possibly may see a gain. Just remember that THIS IS PERFECTLY NORMAL! Don't panic, but just KOKO and things should get moving again from next week.

Off to catch up with the end of last week's thread now. Hope everyone has an enjoyable bank holiday Monday Flowers

@Rayna37 are you happy with the scales generally?

@MrsKoala I used C&R fresh plaster to paint DD's ikea kitchen - my most successful up cycle

@TheHoover great nsv! Well done

2 mins after posting earlier my DS's got in the car and I reversed out - and straight into another car. FML

Jellycatspyjamas · 06/05/2021 16:53

Ouch @Oneborneverydecade hope everyone is ok and the cars aren’t too spendy to fix.

@prettybird you’ve definitely earned a lovely new bathroom having waited for so long. It’s funny how long we live with the quirks of our houses when we have little choice. We spent both lockdowns with some very creative (but safe) electrical arrangements in our playroom. The lights went just before first lockdown and it’s taken a year to find an electrician with space for what is a fairly small but necessary job.

Whoever suggested dipping the Montezuma 100% chocolate is a evil genius Grin

prettybird · 06/05/2021 17:15

@Oneborneverydecade Bugger ShockSad

Hope everyone is ok and that it's not going to be too costly Sad

AthelstaneTheUnready · 06/05/2021 17:20

@Rayna37

Athelstane I've just noticed in my boss' calendar he's meeting someone called Athelstane actually IRL today.
Oooo, I wonder if I've been rumbled? Not that I've been eggzackly coy on details...

Bathrooms: now I have one of my own, I'm paralysed by choice - can't decide what I'd prefer. Fortunately, I can't afford to do anything just yet, so plenty of time to get a grip. Am not going to say anything critical about it, since I really liked the lady I bought the house from.

Hopeislost · 06/05/2021 17:39

I have serious bathroom envy! Ours is tiny (not big enough for a bath) but we are renting so will have to put up with for now!

Which Renpho scales do you all have? There's a few different ones on Amazon. I am getting seriously back into my weightlifting and like the idea of being able to track muscle and fat % for when the weight isn't budging!

Rayna37 · 06/05/2021 18:13

For those asking, My Renpho scales are too new to review really, seem fine so far! Key will be if they play up at all I guess. As They were just the basic £24.99 Amazon ones in white. Lots of others on here have had them a while I think though.

colouringindoors · 06/05/2021 19:24

I think I'm going to have to take a mini break from bc for a few days. I'm feeling totally overwhelmed by family stuff and pain today and so have fallen off the wagon. I'm too tired to stick to it tonught and I can't see the next few days being much different. Bugger.

cheeseisthebest · 06/05/2021 19:47

Oh colouring indoors that sounds really tough.
Do you feel better health wise if you eat low carb high fat?

cheeseisthebest · 06/05/2021 19:48

Lovely food today
B low carb toast with buttery scrambled eggs
L sort of forgot but small piece of cheese and some prawns
Dinner wasn't that hungry but had duck breast with buttery spinach and asparagus with a creamy lemony sauce

Andi2020 · 06/05/2021 19:49

Like all the discussion about bathrooms

Weather so bad hear got caught twice and had to change clothes

How many carbs are you allow that the first 2 weeks are over
I started using a carb app and says I'm allow 18g
Is this correct

Stokey · 06/05/2021 20:01

I'm loving all the bathroom chat. Wall hanging loos are good too, to increase space.

We did an extension just before the pandemic and carved out a new downstairs shower room which I love. It doesn't have a window so we embraced the dark theme. We have dark blue tiles with white stars (& some plain), F&B railings on the top half of the walls & ceiling, and brass fittings. It feels so nice, we all use it far more than the scruffy family bathroom upstairs. It doesn't feel too small, despite being dark.

Haven't posted meals for a couple of days but am sticking to plan. Had a delicious bacon wrapped monkfish for supper last night - recommend - although no idea what the veg mentioned is, we had it with pak choi.

Today
B: Greek yoghurt
L: salad with salmon & cream cheese
S: kale crisps
D: mushroom omelette with spinach & parmesan.

prettybird · 06/05/2021 20:03

@Andi2020 - no limit per se on carbs as we're not recommended to count them, as that goes obsessing about food Wink. As long as you follow the Rules, your carbs will be naturally low - and healthy Grin. They won't be as low as 18g though Confused - iirc, I think they'll be around 50g (not that I've ever counted them Confused)

colouringindoors · 06/05/2021 20:09

cheese yes i do. It's the headspace required. And current amount of self sabotage taking place because I'm feeling so shit... thank you x

I totally get that. Maybe just try and vaguely bear it in mind when making food choices and don't weigh or put any pressure in yourself. Just think oh I feel better if I pick the cheese salad instead of the sandwich. I just know how crap I felt last weekend having carbs xxx
AthelstaneTheUnready · 06/05/2021 20:15

@colouringindoors Flowers for you, I'm really sorry. Athelcat is currently upstairs hiding under the bed after being forced to take pills. I wish I could do the same, and I expect you do too.

cheeseisthebest · 06/05/2021 20:16

Yes big big hugs xxx

prettybird · 06/05/2021 20:21

Meeting with bathroom guy went well. Still to go to see his supplier tomorrow to have a look at the actual sanitary ware, but he confirmed my ideas would work Smile

Thanks for the tip about plasterboard - he mentioned that too and the fact that I said 1500, 1600 of 1650 wide bath he thought was realistic because the plasterboard would narrow the room. In bad news, initially, we thought 1500 was the only practical width but we now think dh hadn't believed me that one wall (between the bathroom and bedroom) is just plaster and lathe, so we can strip that back to the studs and gain maybe over 10cm, before he puts the plasterboard on - so he thinks we should be able to get the 1600 back to the wall bath in - but that although the 1650 might fit but would be tight and not worth the risk.

We're going to cut holes in the various bits of the panelling before he next visits (to fix the loo), so that we can confirm the space available.

It'll be end June before he can do it but he says that supplies are difficult at the moment so if we can get things decided and ordered as soon as possible, then he can get stuck in quickly in June. Fortunately we have a big house so will have space to store the stuff. It also gives us time to rip out as much as possible ourselves to reduce costs.

Andi2020 · 06/05/2021 20:35

@prettybird just put today's food in and I was over the 18g and was going to panick
Yes I stick to plan but need to get more interesting foods going read through some more meal ideas now for shopping in morning.

BestIsWest · 06/05/2021 20:35

@colouringindoors take care of yourself Flowers

@prettybird exciting news about the bath fitting. All that bathroom talk has inspired me to have another attempt at getting a downstairs loo fitted. This is a lovely house, lots of light and space but in the way of many 1960s houses doesn’t have a downstairs loo. The existing plumbing doesn’t lead itself very easily to having one installed and we’ve had a few builders scratch their heads about it. It seems mad to consider moving just because of a loo but I really want (need) one downstairs.

On that note, I’m just off upstairs Grin.

@Andi2020

Have you read Bootcamp rules?! We don't count carbs.

Just follow the rules and you'll be fine.

OP posts:
BIWI · 06/05/2021 20:44

OK - to clarify @Andi2020 - it's not explicitly stated in the rules that we don't count carbs (or calories) but it is mentioned in all the prep threads, and several times on the chat threads.

The whole point of Bootcamp is that it should be easy to follow - therefore no counting of carbs (or calories). Just follow the rules and you will be fine.

The thing you need to be careful of if you move on to Bootcamp Light is not to introduce too many more carbs, in the form of fruit, nuts/seeds and/or alcohol.

jelly and pretty thank you, we're all fine, my car is unmarked, I put a big dent in their bumper but I think that was unlucky

Hope things take a turn for the better for you soon @colouringindoors and definitely see you soon, if you do decide to take a break
