This Bootcamp has gone crazy! I'm very hopeful that means that the results on the scales/with the tape measure etc will have been positive.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this week. For so many, it's a total vindication as well as complete reassurance that this WOE really works!

I hope, very much, that the scales are kind to you and look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

5lbs down (which considering I had a slip up day is amazing)
I hope I've managed to put it on the spreaqsheet without messing anything up @AthelstaneTheUnready (I didn't touch anything blue)

Ah do I! Sorry Blush
Dailyhandtowelwash · 25/01/2021 17:04

@nowlook

How are you learning, btw? Have you tried Slow German? I wouldn't survive on holiday these days, but, usefully, can hold my own in a discussion about spring water boreholes Confused
Sounds helpful! There's another language I know far better, in which I can do excellent restaurant vocab, and also talk in quite complex ways about work, but am otherwise hopeless. German is purely for holidays.

I'll have a look. So far both Duolingo and Babel have failed with me, but Babel was by far the better, and it was me that quit on it during lockdown lethargy.

kilojules · 25/01/2021 17:21

Well done to everyone on all the losses and for those who haven't hopefully this week will show some move on the scales
-5lbs this week.
Carb flu is slowly getting better and even got through watching my boys scoffing stuffed crust pizza and popcorn for movies over weekend (and nobody got hurt)

Looking forward to making some low carb pizza once BC done for pizza night. I want to stick to keeping meals as unprocessed as poss this week.

In the past I've tried a couple of variations, least fave being cauli crust (very faffy with having to cook and squeeze the cauliflower and what not).
The easiest i found was the the 5min pizza crust with just eggs, Parmesan and psyllium husk,a bit of seasoning and oil

For those who make it. What's your favourite pizza crust recipe?

You haven't messed up anything! I'll add your 5lbs back to last week's weight, and it will look fine.
kilojules · 25/01/2021 17:52

I also tried to add my weight but unfortunately phone not letting me. Just for the record. Starting weight 194lb 4/01/21 190lb 18/01 and todays weight 185.5 (miscalculated as measure in kg so not quite -5lbs lost)

nowlook · 25/01/2021 17:53

@Dailyhandtowelwash It's far more useful for me if I can read and write it, so sometimes go on eBay.de and do some random searches. Pick up loads of vocabulary that way and intuitively you know what it's meant to say! Here's some lovely squirrels Grin

Having a very hungry couple of days. Just feeling like a bottomless pit. Am managing not to tuck in to crackers which are my usual go to when feeling meh but the temptation today is high whereas I’ve not cared the past week.

B- Greek yoghurt and cream
S- Egg Mayo
L- leftover Thai chicken curry with sprouts and spring greens
S- 2 slices of beef with butter
D- roast chicken thighs, spring greens and some avocado with lots of the roasting oil/juice poured over followed by some more yoghurt and cream

1 oxo, 3 coffee with almond milk and 3.5l water

1stMrsF · 25/01/2021 17:59

Wonderful losses, congratulations for those and for everyone for just KOKO.
5lbs down for me, really delighted. Now only just over a stone to get back to my pre-pandemic weight (lockdown 1 was not a good experience for me and I've been struggling to get into the right mindset since.) I have found it difficult this week, I won't deny. I'm feeling a bit unwell and not sure whether it's related, or perhaps just why I'm finding it hard. Possibly also the situation is not helping - on the one hand, being at home and in control of food is useful, but on the other, I'm finding life a bit joyless.
L: salad with some salami, ham, cold chicken & cheese plus a mug of green soup. Felt the need for more vegetables Grin
D: a nod to Burns Night some others are eating haggis, I am having sausages plus mashed swede (and there are some leftover sprouts from yesterday's Sunday roast, so will eat those too).
Good luck this week!

Pandoraslastchance · 25/01/2021 18:00

Today I've eaten
B- boiled eggs and couple of slices of ham
L- egg mayo with salad
T- fish pie(salmon, haddock, mackerel and prawns) in double cream and marscapone with leeks

kilojules · 25/01/2021 18:05

@AthelstaneTheUnready ah thanks so much!

kilojules · 25/01/2021 18:11

@1stMrsF sorry to hear you're a bit poorly and down! Lockdown plus this time of year is super hard.

I'm trying to keep my spirits up by imagining me fitting into some nice clothes for the summer and planning my imaginary holiday in my head. I know sounds sad! Is anything you can think of that you could look forward to?

Dinner tonight is the oriental pork cabbage parcels from the recipe thread, with pak choi. Quite excited about this!

My water consumption today is also high. My constant downing of pint glasses of water in Teams meetings is beginning to attract comments though.

1stMrsF · 25/01/2021 18:22

@kilojules thank you for your kind words. I think it's the lack of things to look forward to that I'm finding so depressing! But it's a good idea and I will try to think about some generic things and warmer days. I am fortunate that I have family close by and formed bubble so not lonely or lacking support with DC, but also we all agree we are fed up of the sight of each other 😂

I saw a post on Facebook today where someone used cauliflower rice to make their pizza base, which sounded a lot easier! Let me see if I can find it ...

BIWI · 25/01/2021 18:33

Here you go:

  • one pouch of (cooked) Riced Cauliflower
  • 10g grated Parmesan
  • one egg
  • seasoning Mixed and made into a pizza shape. 10 mins in the oven (each side) then add toppings

Sounds a lot easier!

She didn't say how she'd cooked the cauliflower rice, but I'm guessing it would have been fried?

@AthelstaneTheUnready - thank you xx

More info - it's a 200g pack, and was microwaved first.

However, I see from Sainsbury's website that the brand is an ambient one, unlike the Sainsbury's own one which is fresh

@Margaritawithlime

Decided on a salmon burrito bowl for dinner as dh was leaning that way. Made the most delicious guacamole and pico de gallo to go with it. I had mine with lettuce and jalapeños and some soured cream. Lush! I didn’t miss the rice that everyone else had at all. That’s a first. Normally any diet I do has me having a very heavy case of the FOMOs but meh. Not bothered by it at the moment. Long may it last.

Hi lovely gang

5.5lbs off for me I couldn't be happier. Haven't even felt hungry most days. Well done to everyone.

I've managed to get to the grand old age of 38 without ever trying celeraic, well I made some celeraic chips with paprika and they were amazing! Cutting the damn thing was a challenge though.

I saw earlier there was someone baking 2 trays of radishes. Now I've never tried a radish in my life so I'm intrigued. Do I just cut them in half smother in olive oil and pop in the oven? Or do they need to be parboiled. Sorry to sound thick. I'm loving trying new things. And sorry I can't tag the person who posted the photo as I can't seem to find the post now!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 25/01/2021 18:47

My dinner tonight was low-carb Shepherds Pie made from yesterday's leftovers and was nicer than the original meal.

I did roast leg of lamb for Sunday lunch, and made myself cauliflower mash with lots of butter and black pepper instead of roast potatoes. There was a bit of lamb left, some gravy, and quite a lot of mashed cauliflower.

Tonight, I chucked the leftover lamb in the food processor with a few mushrooms, while I sautéed some shallots in olive oil. I added the lamb and mushrooms to the shallots, and chucked in the gravy. I reduced it down a bit, and added some spinach leaves for extra veg. I put that in a baking dish, topped it with the cauliflower mash, it a few blobs of butter on the top, then cooked it at 180 for about 20 minutes. At the end I turned the oven up a bit and gave it another 5 minutes to get brown and crispy on top.

It was really delicious.

ShagMeRiggins · 25/01/2021 18:50

My constant downing of pint glasses of water in Teams meetings is beginning to attract comments though.

“What? You’re a fan of dehydration? Carry on...” combined with the tried and tested MN Hmm face.

I dunno Daily, but that would be my response.

WATER WATER WATER!!!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 25/01/2021 18:52

Actually, thinking about it lunch was leftovers too. Bit of smoked fish that I hadn't been able to finish on Saturday, and some egg yolks from baking my DD a birthday cake on Saturday. I scrambled them with the fish in some butter. Very rich but very nice.
