This Bootcamp has gone crazy! I'm very hopeful that means that the results on the scales/with the tape measure etc will have been positive.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this week. For so many, it's a total vindication as well as complete reassurance that this WOE really works!

I hope, very much, that the scales are kind to you and look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

It is true @ouchmyfeet! They've only started recently, so it might calm down.

TMI: the day she started her first period, I had spotting! Haven't had a period for three years.

Very odd.

MrsTaytodarling · 29/01/2021 17:09

Hi all. Been sleeping so only lurking but started nights last night and stuck 100% and wasn't tempted by the numerous sweets&biscuits all over the place

Ninkanink · 29/01/2021 17:19

Women who live in households together (whether related or not) often find their menstrual cycles will coordinate. The body is an amazing thing.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 29/01/2021 17:24

Yes, and the fact that we're in the same house for twenty-three hours a day has probably intensified it. Confused. I just wasn't expecting it after the menopause!

cheeseisthebest · 29/01/2021 17:49

What happens for the other hour?!!

Justcallmecaptainobvious · 29/01/2021 18:02

I have no idea who posted the fajita bowl idea, but I love you for it! Definitely going on our core meal list.

(Yes, we eat dinner at 5.30. DH was brought up eating at 4, I’d like to eat at 7, this is our compromise!)

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 29/01/2021 18:05

@cheeseisthebest they all fuck off out with the dog & I dance round the house Grin

poorbuthappy · 29/01/2021 18:06

I have 3 girls. The twins are yet to start their periods but it won't be long.
I am perimenopausal so my cycle goes from 21 days to 56.
This month I've come on with a 27 day cycle so my eldest has come on a week early. She was not happy.
It's a sign that I am actually am in charge.
God help DH when the twins start too.

@BIWI i dont mind sharing of course... last year my work advised that they weren’t in a posistion to pay a bonus. None of us were too bothered as we had been through the consultation process and all just happy to still have jobs! The announcement was that today the chairman and shareholders would like to recognise our effort through the pandemic and will be paying a bonus in next months wage. Smaller than usual but still totally unexpected and generous Smile

So carrying on with the roasted broccoli, im having it on the side of a portion of chilli with sour cream and cheese 😁 on my third litre of water. Debating whether to have a sneaky step on the scales tomorrow morning!

Dailyhandtowelwash · 29/01/2021 18:53

@plumstone really interesting that you lose your appetite before your period. I struggled to eat at all yesterday and today I’ve gone all day without eating too.

My cycle is now weird too, so my Flo app says I’m due on but I was a week ‘late’ on my usually clockwork period, and then last week I had (sorry TMI) something a bit like a very light period. I am now bloated though (not measured, @BIWI, as I can see I’m no thinner and my clothes feel the same - wearing the same thing most days!) and will be miserable if this is going to mean weeks of water retention.

Dinner tonight will be seafood - I’m really lucky to live where there is lots of lovely, cheap stuff. So scallops fried in butter, oysters, lobster grilled with butter and garlic, and celeriac chips with lots of mayonnaise (found a sugar-free brand today in the supermarket). I need to add in a salad too.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 29/01/2021 18:53

@ListenLinda that’s brilliant!

prettybird · 29/01/2021 19:16

No duck breasts in Lidl Sad

Instead, I got some reduced to clear turkey steaks and I'll make Turkey Parmigiana, using my ground almond, Parmesan and Flaxseed "breadcrumb" coating. (NB: I'm in Week 3, so can have the almonds).

Tonight I'm having shoogled sprouts (and snacking on leftover cheese sauce from last night's cauliflower cheese).

Motivateinmotion · 29/01/2021 19:28

@nowlook thanks for all your work on the vanilla labelling saga. Mine is actually Aldi brand and lists sugar. Do people think it’s ok to use until I can get another brand?

I would have some sort of creamy vegetable mash with duck, and maybe swede as the sweetest of the allowed veg? Or pumpkin? We had it last week with creamed leeks, and cauliflower with harissa.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 29/01/2021 19:35

Sorry, so many posts, keep forgetting to ask, I grabbed a coffee while out this afternoon from my favourite cafe, and they offered coconut milk, which I thought would be an OK option. But it tasted sweet - I’ve googled but can’t find any useful info on the carb content on sweetened coconut milk, only condensed coconut milk, which it definitely wasn’t.

Sounds blissful!!

Lyrata · 29/01/2021 20:10

I’m going to look for duck breasts tomorrow now! I’m also hoping to find some oysters. I just bought my own shucker. I thought it would be an unusual treat (I never really think of them in winter but I don’t see why the fishmonger wouldn’t have them. I suppose we’ll see).

Food has been good today - Loads of dairy today and yesterday but hoping it won’t stall me. Even if it does, to be honest, I’m not that fussed at this point. I’m happy with this diet so the weight loss can come when it wants.

Breakfast: creamy coffee
Snack: bit of parmesan
Lunch: scrambled eggs, feta and tomatoes (the eggs are amazing - brand called Cacklebean. You can get them in London via Estate Dairy or HG Walters)
Snack: more Parmesan. About five cocktail sausages.
Dinner: roasted aubergine, tomato, onion and courgette with feta and garlic

I have a terrible confession to make.

I've just eaten a mini mars bar.

I was craving chocolate, and thought sod it. But it was horrible, absolutely disgusting. Every bit was claggy, too sweet, horrible processed taste.

Yuk. (Runs and hides from big stick!)

That's mainly sugar though! First three ingredients are all sugar. Definitely bin it. Sorry.

I'm glad it was horrible!

But you need to ask yourself why you did that.

What lovely news! That's really heartwarming. The thing about bonuses that I hate is that the taxman always takes his share!

Well at least it was a mini one - hopefully won't have done too much damage.
