This Bootcamp has gone crazy! I'm very hopeful that means that the results on the scales/with the tape measure etc will have been positive.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this week. For so many, it's a total vindication as well as complete reassurance that this WOE really works!

I hope, very much, that the scales are kind to you and look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

I have that same vanilla, also allegedly sugarless. It's not old, I bought it within the last 2-3 months I think

Ooh, isn't that from the same production run ouch? You and motivate are vanilla twins. I've emailed the company to ask about the discrepancy and will update if I receive a reply

Oneborneverydecade · 29/01/2021 12:50

Wowsers @MrsOmelette what ages are they?

Bestbees · 29/01/2021 12:57

@MrsOmelette respect to you for 7 kids! Must be a joy filled house!

@BIWI interesting about the painkillers. I have been taking naproxen for my back so perhaps that has had an impact on the stall in weight loss (grasps anything that doesn't mean she has to stop eating cheese!)

Justcallmecaptainobvious · 29/01/2021 13:25

I love how committed you are @nowlook to ahem my vanilla issue. Grin (I bought mine in the last 2-3 months too).

MrsOmelette · 29/01/2021 13:26

@Oneborneverydecade they range in age from adults who have left home to toddler. I’m a glutton for punishment haha.

If you don't get an answer, let me know - Dr Oetker used to be one of clients, so I have some contacts there I can ask.

Will do @BIWI. It's looking more and more like a recent reformulation. I've found a different label, which has the sugar included and the calories declared are higher (881 vs 801), so probably just that the retailers haven't updated yet (booo).

Almahart · 29/01/2021 13:51

Thanks for the cheese tips @BIWI !

Disappointing haul in general although the fancy Aldi peanut butter is palm oil free which might interest those with kids (not for me, honest!)

I've found whole earth almond butter at 2.6g according to Waitrose - must have got those muddled up.

Am koko here. Grateful for the lighter days.

Also an NSV, have put some too big trousers on the jumble pile.

Lyrata · 29/01/2021 13:57

Taking down Big Vanilla.

(I also have that vanilla essence - bought only a few weeks ago and it doesn’t list sugar)

CisMyArse · 29/01/2021 14:01

@BIWI That's interesting - yes I'll avoid that and try paracetamol. I find the ibuprofen really helps reduce the contraction pains I feel and the (sorry TMI) volume of blood loss. I won't need to touch NSAIDs at all for a month so it'll be interesting to see what happens next month.

I do add salt, and I also drink a load of bone broth most days. That said, I experienced a cramping in one leg in the early house, so clearly I'm not getting enough.

Thank you - your advice, and the experiened others', is invaluable.

CisMyArse · 29/01/2021 14:04

@StuntNun

On the other hand, Ibuprofen is the best thing to take for period cramps because it slows the flow of blood. So if you're suffering CisMyArse then Ibuprofen might still be your best choice.
Missed this! Yes, hence I swallow hospital doses sometimes (not often - only when it's really bad). It has made a substantial difference, but I'll have a go at paracetamol and large quantities of hot water bottles next month!

Thanks @StuntNun

CisMyArse · 29/01/2021 14:07

Can anyone help me out?

DH has waddled back (ha) from his Butcher friend, with 4 duck breasts. In the past I've loved them with honey or a balsamic reduction, or a sweet and spicey red cabbage. I don't think I'd like to eat them solo, with a plate of veg.

Any suggestions?

prettybird · 29/01/2021 14:17

I score the fat on duck breasts in a diamond pattern and then rub in ras-el-hanout.

Fry them from cold over a medium heat until golden (6-8 minutes), then turn for 2 minutes. Put in oven at 200C for 10 minutes. Leave to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

I decant the fat from the frying pan before putting it in the oven.

That's what I'd already planned for dinner tomorrow night Smile

Oneborneverydecade · 29/01/2021 14:18

Great NSV @Almahart

I've just weighed myself using the 2 recommended websites and I'm either a 32F or a 34DD. My only non bralette bra is a 38A. Oops

BIWI · 29/01/2021 14:23

@CisMyArse I cook duck just like @prettybird, except I only use sea salt and black pepper.

If you wanted, you could always deglaze the pan with a swoosh of red wine? But to be honest, I just love the flavour as it is.

I usually serve with braised white cabbage (chop cabbage and boil for around 3-4 minutes till just softening, drain. Melt large knob of butter in the same pan and add some chopped shallots and fry gently until starting to brown; add the cabbage back into the pan with the juice of a lemon. Season with salt and white pepper - not black - and then reduce the heat to low, put the lid on the pan and braise for 30 minutes or so)

... or with red cabbage to which, when it's tender, I add shallots and then cider vinegar, and go for a long braise again.

@nowlook it was very good news actually!
Lunch was a random assortment of roasted broccoli, scrambled eggs with butter & mushrooms fried in butter. Was delicious 😁

CisMyArse · 29/01/2021 14:36

Thanks both! Those duck recipes sound lovely.
I have a sweet tooth with certain veg so hopefully the wine will suffice!

Thank you!

ChristMyArse · 29/01/2021 15:24

@CisMyArse sorry to hear you're having such a horrid time of it. I hope it buggers off quickly for you.

Interesting about the ibuprofen, I take a right mixture of meds and sometimes take Brufen so shall try knocking that on the head.

I've still not got over my physio app a couple of days ago and am cramping even though I'm on baclofen which is a muscle relaxant. I got over the initial dehydration with salt (plenty of it) but it appears to be back again.

Loving the chat today.. we have a fabulous bunch eh!

nowlook · 29/01/2021 15:29

Fab ListenLinda Always a nice way to end the week.

Yep, Lyrata- sticking it to The Man Grin

Actually, @BIWI, could you see if you have any joy at Dr Oetka? I can see that batches made for Aussie consumption and which expire just a couple of months earlier have the sugar in them. Really interested to know whether they have genuinely reformulated or whether it's a UK sku labelling issue.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 29/01/2021 16:37

Timely KOKO reminder @plumstone.

Having suffered no cravings last Saturday night, I'm very twitchy tonight. I won't cave, but it's hard.

I'm post-menopausal, but DD recently started her periods, and I now get PMT and bloating again. Humph.
