This Bootcamp has gone crazy! I'm very hopeful that means that the results on the scales/with the tape measure etc will have been positive.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this week. For so many, it's a total vindication as well as complete reassurance that this WOE really works!

I hope, very much, that the scales are kind to you and look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

BIWI that’s odd, their website agrees with you but my bottle doesn’t have sugar listed!

Mmmmm @prettybird that’s a beautiful ham.

nowlook · 29/01/2021 10:49

"My norks are in the two-hugging-bald-men-from-above category"

Brilliant @MilesJuppIsMyBitch Grin

I've never tried coca cola ham before either.

Anyway, today is Alfredo day! My favourite BC recipe (having tried possibly as many as five...)

BIWI · 29/01/2021 10:49

@AthelstaneTheUnready

Am not a fan of substitute foods in general though. Either eat it, or don't it. But don't pretend it's really something else. (I know this isn't the point with the ham-swede, just pontificating).
I don't think they were trying to pretend it was something else - it was more 'what else can I do with swede'*

*Don't care if you're in Scotland. It's a bloody swede!

That's really weird @Justcallmecaptainobvious. But at least the amount of sugar in there is pretty low!

OP posts:
BIWI · 29/01/2021 10:53

I've checked Tesco and Waitrose websites and they both say sugar is one of the ingredients.

I'm another one blessed in the boobs department. I don't think they're that big but I have a tiny frame so it's the difference between my small ribcage and my boobage that makes my bra size seem somewhat extreme at 28HH. Blush I do have to buy a size bigger in tops (14) than in trousers (12) but I think that's because I have an hourglass figure. I wish Bravissimo had a bigger clothes range because they're pretty accommodating for curvier bodies.

Ninkanink · 29/01/2021 11:02

My boobs are on the bigger side too which I’m generally okay with (and the nice thing about it is that when I do gain weight DH is always very appreciative of any extra volume Grin ) but it does really make it difficult & frustrating to find tops that fit exactly right.

Lyrata · 29/01/2021 11:05

I don’t mind “substitute” food if it’s real ingredients but I tend to think of it as another dish - which I somewhat lazily call the same thing. For example, I love my cauliflower buffalo wings but I eat them because I hate the bits of gristle etc. in standard chicken wings. I wouldn’t ever serve them and tell people you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference!

It does remind me of when my ex-DP and I were at a firework display and he went to get a hot dog while I went to get something else (probably wine). I couldn’t find him after that - and spent ten fruitless minutes circling the food festival looking at all the places that might sell them. I finally found him at the front of a place called Popdogs from which he had entirely unknowingly bought a vegan hot dog. The only sign it was vegan was that the menu described the sausage as “pork” and he (it worried me that he was okay with this) assumed that it was because the meat content was so low or poor quality that it couldn’t legally be sold as pork. It was one of the worst hot dogs I’ve tasted in my life. He was devastated.

Ooh, a labelling conundrum. Love it.

Give the BBE date on your vanilla, @Motivateinmotion, I'm going to hazard a guess that they've reformulated recently in order to deal with a new or coming tax. Either that, or they're very naughty boys. Shouldn't be though, they're not some artisanal producer- parent co. is Dr Oetker according to Tesco website.

I might take a few minutes to have a little look for my own amusement.

Morning all, loving the chat, it has made me laugh, which is very welcome.

I’m hearing of more people being vaccinated which is brilliant and dd2 has got her appointment for next week, so there is definitely light at the end of this tunnel. I am also hearing how brilliantly the vaccination centres are being managed and that no jabs are being wasted. DD1’s friend was walking past a hospital and got pulled in to be vaccinated as they had some that needed to be used there and then, she Very sensibly asked to check ID before going with them and I was so impressed that she had the sense to do so.

Today
B Greek yogurt with teaspoon double cream
L homemade soup
D beef chilli bowl with salad wraps

2 coffees, Teapigs and water

CisMyArse · 29/01/2021 11:36

I'll try and catch up on the reading tonight. It's been a crazy few weeks at school but I'm managing ok I think.

I've name changed back to CisMyArse as that what was on the sheet. I've had a go at filling the spread sheet but not done it correctly.

Starting weight 12 stone 7
Week 1 - 12 stone
Week 2 - 11 stone 13
Week 3 - 12 stone

So a 3lb gain last week. I am peri menopausal and incredibly heavy at the moment (proper labour type pains at times) so despite the ibuprofen I swallow, I am very bloated- maybe it's that?

I also think I've been a bit heavy on the cream so I've cut that right back.

I also notice that I seem to be storing fluid in my thighs and tips of legs (feel tight when kneeling). I'm drinking approx 3 litres daily. Am I having enough sodium? Can this explain the odd water retention?

Hoping the scales are pleasing for everyone on the next weigh in!

MrsOmelette · 29/01/2021 11:36

Ooh I’m going to have to try roasted cloved neeps! I was trying to do it the “singing swede” method in the microwave but finally got frustrated with hard spots and went back to boiling it.
As for bras, I’m one of the cheap-inaccurate-bras culprits mea culpa. In my defence I have six daughters and always buy good bras and measure very carefully for them!

nowlook · 29/01/2021 11:47

SIX daughters @MrsOmelette! Are you sure?! Grin

Are you the family with sextuplets from the telly back in the day?

Ninkanink · 29/01/2021 11:49

I’m one of five sisters, and three brothers. So it does happen! 😄

(I stopped at two)

Can you take something other than ibuprofen? I have read before that this is one of the things that can impede weight loss. (Not sure why, or indeed if it's actually true, but it was stated on a low carb site I was on years ago).

If you have fluid retention, try drinking (yet) more water and see if that helps.

Re sodium, are you cooking with salt? Are you adding it to your food?

OP posts:
BIWI · 29/01/2021 11:57

When I say ibuprofen @CisMyArse, any NSAID can have an effect, so aspirin would also fall into this category. Paracetamol isn't a NSAID, so could you try that instead?

Saag paneer for early lunch today. Lovely!

ListenLinda · 29/01/2021 12:10

Just caught up, having a chuckle to myself along the way.

Ah, just been invited to a teams meeting from HoD has an announcement to make.... wondering what that is about.
Also, one of my colleagues is finishing for mat leave today and we have no one to replace her, despite the job being advertised for a while. Leaving just two of us to in a very busy department. Usually I would turn to alcohol and a chinese on a friday night, hoping I can resist next weekend!

nowlook · 29/01/2021 12:19

@ListenLinda Hope it's a positive announcement! If not, we're always here lawyer brain screaming just don't commit to anything on the call itself, give yourself breathing space, if they ask if you have questions say "not at the moment, but can I follow up with you once I've had chance to get my head around it? I hate waiting for that kind of thing Flowers

MrsOmelette · 29/01/2021 12:22

@nowlook hahaha no mine are all single births. There is one son in the middle of them all..bless him hahaha. It’s actually quite annoying as a lot of people presume you a) don’t work and b) were fixated on getting a son, they are always surprised he’s in the middle. I love my big family.

ListenLinda · 29/01/2021 12:26

@nowlook me too haha now im clock watching waiting for the meeting anxiously. Might go have a piece of Brie to settle the nerves Grin

AWryGiraffe · 29/01/2021 12:31

7 children 😱^^ faints

StuntNun · 29/01/2021 12:35

On the other hand, Ibuprofen is the best thing to take for period cramps because it slows the flow of blood. So if you're suffering CisMyArse then Ibuprofen might still be your best choice.

nowlook · 29/01/2021 12:36

@MrsOmelette People are unabashed when it comes to large families, aren't they? My sister's only got the four (twins in the middle) and the youngest is a boy. She often gets asked how long she would have "kept going" Hmm

I'd have liked more, but it wasn't on the cards after two sections.

@ListenLinda Imagine what an anticlimax it will be if it's just to wish maternity leave lady well!
