This Bootcamp has gone crazy! I'm very hopeful that means that the results on the scales/with the tape measure etc will have been positive.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this week. For so many, it's a total vindication as well as complete reassurance that this WOE really works!

I hope, very much, that the scales are kind to you and look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

but I’m sure there’s at least one bc regular I remember...maybe @ShagMeRiggins?

Not I. I’m the French mother/American father living in UK with my English husband. No danish here, which is just as well as it’s not allowed on Bootcamp anyway.

My grandmother was Danish (or more accurately, half German, half English but brought up in Germany as she was born on the day WW1 was declared).

prettybird...um, what? How is that Danish? Confused

BIWI your joke was a groaner. Obviously I’ve passed it on to friends already.

WATER WATER WATER!!!

Ninkanink · 26/01/2021 11:33

@ShagMeRiggins

Must be someone else then! Come to think of it might be a regular on the Royal Fashion threads...

On Germany/Denmark, various regions have changed hands between the two countries at various points (sore point with many Danes/Germans of those regions whose national identities/Home countries were effectively taken from them, as has happened in so many other countries and regions as well). I’m guessing that’s what @prettybird might have been referring to.

Oops - meant to say Granny was brought up in Denmark Blush. I was rushing to post before my Pilates class started Blush
52andblue · 26/01/2021 11:39

Accountability post:

B: Scrambled eggs with butter wilted spinach
L: greens and cheese soup (me too!)
D: tuna salad
snack if needed: olives
(am going past an M&S tomorrow as Dd been called into school for 2nd half of MMR given a year ago, so will buy some LCHF snacks)
Planning is my downfall. I have a teeeeny Co op in my village. Then nothing, for 19 miles (plus don't 'pop to the shops' atm anyway)

ShagMeRiggins · 26/01/2021 11:52

Oops - meant to say Granny was brought up in Denmark

That makes so much more sense. Wink

StuntNun · 26/01/2021 11:53

Is anyone else struggling with lockdown eating? I feel like I'm hungry all the time at the moment, it must be the stress. I normally skip breakfast but I had egg in a cup (two boiled eggs and butter in a cup mashed up with a teaspoon) this morning as I was so hungry there was no way I would be able to wait until later. Lunch will be lamb burgers and shoogled sprouts if I can fit it in between homeschooling sessions. Dinner will be pork escalopes with whatever veggies are in the fridge.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 26/01/2021 11:58

Yes @StuntNun, I just want to eat constantly! Not helpful when I'm trying to combine this with 16:8.

The only time I'm not hungry is after my (massive) evening meal. The rest of the time I'm constantly fighting the urge to eat.

felippertyfeck · 26/01/2021 12:05

Yes @Stuntnun i'm the same! Trying to just have water... slightly better today. Definitely harder now than in the summer ...

Lyrata · 26/01/2021 12:38

Yes. I work in my kitchen and I do snack quite frequently. I find it hard not to eat things out of the fridge when I make cups of tea. I’m wondering if I will need to try and curtail it now I’m closer to goal, but let’s see.

I don’t always report it on these threads because (if I’m being honest with myself) I think I’m in denial about the amount I do it. I usually have cooked chicken in the fridge so I snack on that a lot - which is helpfully self-limiting because I don’t really enjoy breast so once I’ve eaten the thigh meat I start slowing down. I meal prep on a Sunday so I often eat mouthfuls of whatever my evening meals are. If there is cheese or yogurt open I will snack on that but as a result I try to avoid having that open. I’d say I open a tub of yogurt maybe once every six weeks and cheese maybe once a fortnight because I do just nibble through it very quickly. Handfuls of cherry tomatoes are also something I snack on a lot.

I think because it’s all real food it works against me in this case because I don’t count it in the same way I would count ‘a bag of crisps’ or ‘a snack bar’ as a discrete portion.

LittleMy77 · 26/01/2021 12:49

@StuntNun yes, today I’m like a hungry hippo, cannot stop bloody eating.

I’ve also given in and just had a piece of dark chocolate the sugar cravings are that bad Blush I need to find the sweet spot of food that is filling as I haven’t got there yet

nowlook · 26/01/2021 12:50

Afternoon all!

Pleased to report I've been very productive this morning- drafted one of the agreements that I've been putting off. Yay me!

Now need to make sure that my lunch break doesn't stretch out all afternoon while I slump in front of the moving wallpaper that is Say Yes to the Dress Blush

Recent references to timorous beasties has reminded me that I love their bee wallpaper. I might order a sample for the hallway, which will thrill DH given that I'd definitely settled on something else...

Anyhoo, lunch was leftover chicken thigh, celeriac and leek mash, buttery mushrooms. Really want to make the ceviche for supper, but it's absolutely baltic here, so might have to switch to steak, celeriac chips, huge mushroom and FLGV.

Couple of NSVs:

  • my nails are becoming strong and white (this happened last time too)
-norks are as of this morning fully accommodated by their bra cups, as well they should be.
1WayOrAnother2 · 26/01/2021 12:50

Much appreciated seasonal poem @venusandmars !

I am so disappointed in Tom K.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 26/01/2021 12:54

We've cooked loads of the Dopamine Diet book so also sad if he's turned his back on it.

I'm now eating about three times what I usually do. DH is really pleased as he didn't like how little I ate - which was always down to lack of appetite and time rather than deliberately restricting my intake. I've gone from almost always having one meal a day to (in the last week) two, with possibly a snack too. It feels quite nice!

Oneborneverydecade · 26/01/2021 12:55

I just popped into Waitrose and the lovely lady on self scan mentioned that I look like I've lost a lot of weight (I worked with her before leaving to have DD in 2018). She's made my day!

L: Chicken mayo salad
D: Ribs with celeriac & leek mash and another veg
Black tea and water

I did just have a tiny piece of rocky road because I seem to have begun feeling I need something sweet after a meal again. Need to go cold turkey

@venusandmars you're v clever

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/01/2021 13:11

Mmm, my fat jeans are definitely not as tight and no more bulging over the top.

I'm having a motivational struggle day today - am feeling, feeling, I don't know what I'm feeling but could do with bursting into tears probably.

Need something to cheer me up that isn't a) a drink, b) a fag, c) carby in any way, d) outside as it's sleeting heavily, and e) can be done while working as I've a shedload on this afternoon.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/01/2021 13:13

Mind you, I've turned my laptop camera off so no-one will see me weeping while I type

nowlook · 26/01/2021 13:25

@AthelstaneTheUnready

Sorry you're having one of those days.

Is it very concentratey work? If not, put a podcast or audio book on in the background. When I went for a walk yesterday, I got through a few episodes of Fake Heiress.

If you fancy something less taxing, go on ebay.local and have a look at what people are selling within a radius of your rough location. Bid on something if you fancy, then you can pick it up in a lovely socially-distanced manner. Yes, I have odd habits, but it cheers me up Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 26/01/2021 13:28

That’s a really nice NSB, Oneborneverydecade

ShagMeRiggins · 26/01/2021 13:29

Feck. NSV Hmm

nowlook · 26/01/2021 13:29

(it's also how I discovered that Dsis was selling some clothes I lent her, but that's another story Wink)

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/01/2021 13:35

Yeah, it's concentratey work Sad. Trying to manage the implications of moving utilities from one regulatory framework to another, have to publish this afternoon, and one of my lawyers has just had the mother of all work tantrums and vanished.

Normally I'd rub my hands in glee, because I love a challenge. But not today.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/01/2021 13:36

Shock

Tell her you've discovered this fabulous new diet, based around toast and potatos.

Yes, that does sound intense Sad

What can be done about your missing lawyer? Assuming one of your team rather than an external. Can anyone step in, or is it rather that you just don't need the tantrum today on top of everything else? Have you any nicotine replacement?

nowlook · 26/01/2021 13:49

Oh, and Dsis survives on a bewitching combination of botox, McDonalds and daily 10 mile runs. She's not much of a food prepper.

As my MIL would say, that kitchen's never seen an onion

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 26/01/2021 13:52

Found this in Waitrose today. 0 carbs as well as 0 alcohol. Okay, you'd need diet tonic but I'm looking forward to trying it!
