This Bootcamp has gone crazy! I'm very hopeful that means that the results on the scales/with the tape measure etc will have been positive.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this week. For so many, it's a total vindication as well as complete reassurance that this WOE really works!

I hope, very much, that the scales are kind to you and look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

Oh my word, bumming spots on one’s chin, what is bootcamp coming to! < Clutches pearls —not really, I am Danish— Wink >

Brilliant poem, @venusandmars!

Coming out of lurkerdom to pass on a simple salad idea.
First well done to everyone on their journey.
I had it last night and it’s lovely!
Made up a simple salad (with salt and olive oil) added some Greek yougurt. Job done, I ate as a side salad to some meat.
This was an idea from my Mediterranean SIL Who hates all greens and this is the only way she can eat it.
Thought afterwards you could add garlic, herbs, spices, lemon what ever you fancy.
But think it will be nice as a side to sometimes cut through and freshen up other flavours.

What do Danes clutch?
AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/01/2021 09:14

Nice salad idea, @SquatsThoughtYouSaidShots - after Stunt's discussion re seed oils I am a bit more observant in my use of shop-bought mayonnaise, so the yoghurt would be perfect?

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/01/2021 09:15

(not meant to be a question, fat fingers!)

Morning, fab poem, thanks so much for all the links over the last thread for online food deliveries.

I was thinking this morning that we have probably got 2 to 3 months of wearing jumpers (optimistically) so by the end of this bootcamp we could all be removing our jumpers with a ta da 😂 to collective gasps of “my word you’ve lost weight”.

Today
B Greek yogurt with teaspoon double cream
L homemade Leek and Bacon soup
D homemade meatballs, swede & celaric mash, buttered cabbage

2 coffees, Teapigs, water....

Ninkanink · 26/01/2021 09:17

@AthelstaneTheUnready Oh pearls, when necessary! But not actually necessary on this occasion. Smile

MrsMcBoatface · 26/01/2021 09:20

@venusandmars ..your poem is pure genius. Made my day! 🏆

BTW, I learned last night that liquorice tea with a splash of cream is truly divine.

@venusandmars' poem reminds me of this:

Prince Charles is visiting Borders General hospital. He enters a ward full of patients with no obvious sign of injury or illness and greets one.

The patient replies,

"Fair fa your honest sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin race,
Aboon them a ye take yer place,
Painch, tripe or thairm,
As langs my airm."

Charles is confused, so he just grins and moves on to the next patient.

The patient responds,

"Some hae meat an canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it,
But we hae meat an we can eat,
So let the Lord be thankit."

Even more confused, and his grin now rictus-like, the Prince moves on to the next patient, who immediately begins to chant,

"Wee sleekit, cowerin, timrous beasty,
O the panic in thy breasty,
Thou needna start awa sae hastie,
Wi bickering brattle."

Now seriously troubled, Charles turns to the accompanying doctor and asks "Is this a psychiatric ward?"

"No," replies the doctor,
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
"This is the serious Burns unit."

Haha @prettybird I did almost say that! I love Georg Jensen and have a fair few decor items but haven’t splashed out on any necklaces yet, so I couldn’t legitimately say so. Grin

Ninkanink · 26/01/2021 09:35

@BIWI that really made me chuckle.

Ninkanink · 26/01/2021 09:38

Tom Kerridge..did anyone see him on a recent program about looking after restaurants through a rebranding process etc? I'd say that low calorie isn't working for him Shock

My grandmother was Danish (or more accurately, half German, half English but brought up in Germany as she was born on the day WW1 was declared).

Just managed to catch up on the thread. Amazing efforts going on out there in low carb land! Love the poem @venusandmars, the cheese crackers look amazing @Onelittlepiglet I will be trying these. The scales are moving down at last, nearly back to pre-Christmas levels. Felt quite tough initially as even though I felt I wasn't being too naughty, I obviously was, the cravings were tough :) Hopefully next week I will move into unchartered weightloss and can KOKO getting that weight off!! Have a great day all

Was that the one about pubs? I agree - I thought he looked like he'd put weight back on.

Another bootcampable recipe in the Guardian today - sausage and cabbage 'lasagne'.

I dont like bumming spots either 😁

Well, i’ve wandered in for a snack again. Boursin and a stick of celery. I don’t know if it’s boredom or not or is linked to upcoming period week. Which would also explain the bumming spots.

Ah well, atleast the snacks are LCHF i suppose

Dailyhandtowelwash · 26/01/2021 10:54

Arf at @BIWI.

STS this morning. I know it’s totally daily variations but it feels symbolic that this is Day one of ‘uncharted territory’ as a PP has said. Not entirely uncharted but this is the weight I need to properly get rid of.

Snacks so far, creamy coffee and some blue cheese and Stilton. I woke up starving this morning but straight into meetings. I’m planning smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for lunch, alongside a small bowl of soup for veg input.

Thanks for more great recipes. How am I going to get through them all?!

cheeseisthebest · 26/01/2021 11:02

Haha loving this chat!
I've lost my pesky pound I'd gained! Hooray!

VeryLittleOwl · 26/01/2021 11:06

I'm definitely trying those homemade cheese crisps upthread!

It's been an interesting 24 hours, DH is on a mission to clear out the freezer so I'm using up all my frozen tubs of soup. Yesterday's lunch was broccoli and it was quite watery and didn't have much fat in it, so I stirred in half a Boursin. The effect on my digestive system was pretty catastrophic and then compounded by a load of mashed sprouts with my chilli for supper. Currently still feeling a bit delicate, but going for shoogled sprouts with chorizo and cheese for lunch, because I think I need to replace some salt after yesterday.

Howdidthathappen1 · 26/01/2021 11:18

Accountability post
B. Usual 3 egg omelette with mushrooms spinach and cheddar
L. Green and cheese soup - basically all the sad green veg in my fridge made into soup with wendselydale stirred in as that needed using too!
D. Sausages and something - not sure yet

Still hungry and snacking (lumps of ham or cheese) but weight coming off so that's fine
