This Bootcamp has gone crazy! I'm very hopeful that means that the results on the scales/with the tape measure etc will have been positive.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this week. For so many, it's a total vindication as well as complete reassurance that this WOE really works!

I hope, very much, that the scales are kind to you and look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

Rshard · 25/01/2021 20:36

Totally agree about Tom Kerridge, so annoying

prettybird · 25/01/2021 20:38

...aah - they've changed it then from when they first introduced it Confused

Dailyhandtowelwash · 25/01/2021 20:50

Happy Burns Night, Scottish posters!

And great physio news, @ChristMyArse!

Just had the stuffed cabbage leaves. They were gorgeous - really recommend them from the recipe thread.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 25/01/2021 20:52

Very traditional Burns Night cheeseburger pie here. Shock

No cream or mushrooms, but did slice some gherkins to include. It was quite nice, but set off the worst craving for tomato ketchup, which I wasn't expecting.

Well done to all the losers and the KOKOers Grin 3lb down for me which I'm pleased with.

@BIWI or some other experienced person - I've got a question and I can't see the answer anywhere. I'm a blood donor and I'm due to give blood this week, after donating they're fairly insistent on you having a biscuit afterwards. I can't find any exact info as to why but I'm guessing it's to do with your blood sugar levels. I'm driving myself to and from the donation place so I really can't risk being lightheaded - do you think the biscuit will be ok seeing as it's for a good cause or is there a low carb alternative you can suggest? TIA

I've given blood plenty of times since I w been low carbing, and always just have water afterwards. They've never challenged me on it. I've never felt lightheaded afterwards either - once during, but that passed after I lay down upside down for a while, no biscuit required.

I think my first time I took a couple of Babybels with me in case they insisted I eat something, but thru didn't.

Lyrata · 25/01/2021 20:59

I am so full of amazing food.

Breakfast - creamy coffee
Lunch - spicy sausage soup
Snack - oxtail and beef shin stew eaten cold out of the fridge
Dinner - rib of beef with a red wine and bone broth reduction, crispy kale and roasted vegetables (an eclectic mix of peppers, courgette, aubergine and onion which didn’t all quite go with the beef but were nice regardless). I have eaten so much fat directly off the crust.

MarmaladeTeepee · 25/01/2021 21:04

Thanks @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal that's good to know. I've donated loads of time before but never whilst low carbing so wasn't sure what the after effects would be. I normally have to wait around longer as my body likes to keep on donating so I normally have to sit in a special chair with my arm in the air for ages afterwards so I can just make sure I prioritise water over biscuit in my free hand 😆

@kilojules last week DH was craving pizza so we revived one of my previous old favourite bootcamp recipes - Nigellas Meatzza .
We have added various toppings including pepperoni. It really does the trick.

I haven’t tried any of the cauliflower base
ones though.

MrsTaytodarling · 25/01/2021 21:25

Is there a recipe somewhere for cheeseburger pie?? Sounds yum

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 25/01/2021 21:26

Happy Burns night! Grin

I'm very far from Scotland, but the kids made shortbread while we listened to The Proclaimers Grin, then later DD piped in the haggis with her recorder, then DH read out Address to a Haggis while I solemnly cut it open.

It was fun, & the kids learned something. Also very silly Grin

B: yog & cream
L: leftover cauli cheese, roast chicken & salad
D: baked salmon, buttered cabbage & a spoonful of haggis.

Two teas, one creamy coffee & 3l of water.

cheeseisthebest · 25/01/2021 21:36

@BrassicaBabe

Show us the whole graph from when you started recently. Go on Grin I bet the overall trend is down. Smile
I will do!
cheeseisthebest · 25/01/2021 21:38

I think I've already posted what I've eaten but I'm not sure!
I've just had some dark choc, oops, I forgot Blush

nowlook · 25/01/2021 21:43

I was thinking about tarragon (why ever not) and found a cute little infographic for a bearnaise sauce!

Well done bootcampers, some amazing losses here!
I've had a good day:

B: a sausage and a creamy coffee
L: grilled mushroom "pizza" with homemade coleslaw, big pile of raw spinach and some leftover roast lamb
D: bubble and leak with 3 meatballs.

Snacked on a couple of slices of cheese early evening, and finally managed FIVE LITRES of water! Hoping it will make a difference on the scales as I found it harder to remember to drink water at the weekend. Have downloaded the waterlogged app as recommended by a PP and it's helping.

Plan for tomorrow is:

B: either eggs or yoghurt, depending on what I fancy
L: halloumi and FLGV
D: Prawn curry with cauliflower rice

ouchmyfeet · 25/01/2021 21:57

@MrsTaytodarling

Cheeseburger Pie

Beat eggs add mayo, cream and cheese.
Pour over the top of mince and bake in oven Gas mark 5 for 20 to 25 mins until set and golden brown.

Ready to eat immediately, or you can leave to cool before taking out of dish, then cut it in to portions and wrap in cling film
This freezes very well.

MrsTaytodarling · 25/01/2021 22:01

Thank you so much @ouch

52andblue · 25/01/2021 22:04

apologies if this has already been asked:

is there anything you can eat for a snack?

I am used to eating cheese and oatcakes if I am hungry in the evening

Or popcorn. Or dark choc. All of which are no good. (except cheese I guess but I thought unwise before bed re nightmares etc)

I get the answer is to get out of the snacking habit itself but whilst I wean myself off that, is there anything LCHF friendly to scoff please?

venusandmars · 25/01/2021 22:06

Tam Kerridge,

the sleekit cowrin tim'rous beastie
Tak the money and made a feastie
It did na start wi healthy veg
But low fat cream
He wad be lath to add some butter,
An ad man's dream

I'm truly sorry Tam's dominion
Ignores weel kent low-carb opinion
And opts for large sweet pickled onion
Which was on offer
A special twa fer one promotion
It fills his coffers

But mousie Tam, your getting fatter
Have ye forgot yer subject matter?
Avoid a' things that fry in batter
Dinnae eat bread
Yer aw wrong wi' your current patter
Low carb instead

(with apologies to The Scottish Bard - and to Tom Kerridge!)

nowlook · 25/01/2021 22:10

That's fantastic! I even sounded Sottish in my head Shock Clever thing!

Cheese is ok - you can even make cheese crisps. Smile

Pate on cucumber.

A portion of FF Greek yoghurt with some cinnamon

Coleslaw

Cauliflower florets

Slice of salted butter

Pork scratching (I particularly like Golden Crunch, which is puffed pork scratching).

Left over shoogled sprouts

I probably also have too many slices of salami and/or Pepperami. Blush

JamMakingWannaBe · 25/01/2021 22:16

Yum! @midlifemission. Definitely going to try the Meatzza.
