This is the full list of those who have signed up. Hopefully you're all on The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness (unless you said you didn't want to be!

Remember, weighing in tomorrow is not part of this week, although if you want to, you can put your weight in the 'original start date/weight' columns

Thanks must go, as always, to the very lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for setting up the spreadsheet. You'll see this time that we've amended it slightly so that you can record loss for this Bootcamp as well as since you started, for those of you who started earlier.

If your name isn't on the spreadsheet, don't panic! Just add it to the bottom of the list. Don't try to insert it in the right alphabetical place - Athelstane will do that later.

If you are on the spreadsheet, but don't want to be, send me or Athelstane a PM and we'll remove you.

Whatever you do, don't touch the blue cells!

If you're using a mobile to access the spreadsheet, you'll need to download the Google Sheets app.

Hi, I've just added my name in to the spreadsheet.I'm going back now to read the full thread but I'm so pleased to be here. I did my first BC in May 19 , and liked it once I got into it,(I was Summery) but I've been a bit wishy washy since and not as successful.
This is a good time of year for me though to shed the Winter lbs, DH is doing it with me - so NO excuses.
Today:
B: Creamy coffee. 3 eggs, 1 sausage.
L: Cream of vegeateble soup
D: Lamb chops fried with butter (at the very end)served with salad leaves, green beans, mange tout, Brussell sprouts.
After Greek yogurt with a spoon of peanut butter. Herbal tea and square of 85% chocolate (BC Lite).

I'm not a very creative cook, and in the past I've struggled with 'what DO I eat?' Breakfast is fine as I love eggs and cheese, spinach is great, mushrooms, leftovers...
I could do lunch, warm meat (Chicken, fish steak whatever) on a bed of greens (Salad and cooked veg).
I just struggled with my evening meal - I think when I'm tired I want carbs more, and I can't face meat twice a day, every day.
Anyway today worked out well. The soup was shop bought but was 3.5% carb - generally when products are less than 5% carb I think they're OK (Is that right?). Anyway it's only day 1 but I'm feeling positive.
I must step up the water though - I forgot today...Blush

BIWI · 11/01/2021 22:10

... oh, and trust us on the fat front! You really do need to ditch everything you think you know about what's good/bad for us. Make sure you have a read of the resources on the spreadsheet so that you really understand the science behind low carbing.

Pandoraslastchance · 11/01/2021 22:10

Sad I love my sugar free squash. I don't drink tea or coffee. Any recomendations?

Suppose I need to find the britta filters as we have odd tasting water here.

BIWI · 11/01/2021 22:12

Sparkling water?
You can try adding slices or lemon or lime to your water, or strawberries/raspberries? Just don't eat the fruit!
Other Bootcampers make up fruit tea and chill those.

Good to find so many other cauli-appreciators on here. -Such a wonderfully versatile veg !

(My son now looks at all dishes on the dinner-table with curiosity and asks which is one is cauliflower this time.)

Motivateinmotion · 11/01/2021 22:15

Thanks @BIWI I’m printing the pages from the spreadsheet tomorrow to stick on the fridge. We’re talking 15+ years of low fat yo-yo dieting so hard habits to break but I’m already LOVING the full fat foods I forgot how flavoursome things can be! I’m not actually missing things like pasta, potatoes and rice as much as I thought. I think I might take the plunge and buy some of the low carb bread and rolls to have in the freezer though

1WayOrAnother2 · 11/01/2021 22:25

@Pandoraslastchance you could try 'tea' bags of different flavours in your water. (Even standard tea is quite different made in cold water.)

I'm fond of rosehip or choclate-mint or redbush-with-honey-and-fig. All are low carb and lovely hot or cold. Twinings gluhwein 'tea' was wonderful over Christmas; liquorice tea is vile and fit only for torturing unwanted visitors.

devoncreamtea · 11/01/2021 22:26

Hi all! Glad of this easing in too...anyway else in school? What a week last week!! Cripes.
Slowly cutting stuff out here. Haven’t spread sheeted yet so will do that next. Really looking forward to feeling less squashed by clothes 😳

devoncreamtea · 11/01/2021 22:27

Mulled wine tea?!?! Where did you find it?!

Mimosa1 · 11/01/2021 22:33

Signing up! Looking forward to it.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 11/01/2021 22:47

Hi all, just checking in. No sugar today or alcohol, so am pleased. Might have been a bit dairy heavy though.
B - 2 hard boiled eggs, 1 slice bacon and mayo
L - chunk of cheese, 4 small pickled onions, a few sun-dried tomatoes, 2 squares 85%dark choc.
D - an avocado, chunk feta cheese, celery stick with boursin, a few sun dried tomatoes.
2 ten calorie jellies with cream.

Stuckinstressville · 11/01/2021 22:55

@BIWI I started last week as was in the right mindset plus drunk ourselves dry and didn't want to buy more!

So so so strict except I find my dairy intake sky high.... what to swap as putting cream on everything , and cream!

Ps 5lbs down!

crackofdoom · 11/01/2021 23:30

Hello, do you mind if I just bob in and out, without going on the spreadsheet?

I started my own version of bootcamp (combined with 5: 2, AND 16:8) a week ago, and have so far lost 4lbs.

Was impressed to hear that leeks are OK- I have an allotment full of them!!

When I first tried low carbing I was a pescetarian, and as a vegetarian I have to say it's a bit tougher! You really have to be inventive.

I got very excited, reading the label on the back of my tahini jar (Meridian), which claims that there are only 0.9 g per 100g of carbs in it! But the Internet seems to scoff at this, and claims there are about 10g. I don't know who to believe! (I know who I want to believe....)

1WayOrAnother2 · 11/01/2021 23:48

DevonCreamTea it is a tea-pigs tea (not Twinings - sorry!) and was on their site when I was looking for my other fixes. The only bad thing about it was having to share with everyone else here !

1WayOrAnother2 · 11/01/2021 23:50

I have a secret stash of the Gluhwein tea bags - a few treats to tide me over till next Christmas. (I think it is a limited edition one.)

Ragwort · 12/01/2021 07:53

Good morning all, just had an omelette for breakfast, two eggs - plus cheese, mushrooms, spring onions and a small amount of red pepper. Could only manage half so will have the rest for lunch.

Feel better after my "fast" yesterday - although did have a small bowl of broth type soup in the evening.

For those new to this way of eating (WOE) - please believe BIWI and the other 'experts' - it does work - I am over 60 and for years followed every low fat, calorie counting diet under the sum - of course they do all work - when you stick to them, but it is such a dull, boring way of eating that it very hard to stick to them long term. This WOE involves so many more yummy tasting foods.

Discoballs · 12/01/2021 08:01

Can I join please? I did boot camp at the start of 2017, carried on going afterwards and lost over 5 stone. I maintained for 18 months, but then got pregnant and had a baby so it all went to pot. My baby is one now so ready to get back on it. 3 stone to lose.

Ratherchillyinhere · 12/01/2021 08:09

So excited about doing this, it's almost a bit sad! 🤣

Forgot to say, really appreciate all the work that's been put into this behind the scenes. Knowing that is one of my motivations - bit of a pisstake to not take it seriously when so much effort has been put in by @BIWI et al!

Plan for today is...

B - bulletproof coffee. For anyone who drinks their coffee with sugar, I can say that salt works instead. It's not sweet obviously but it does take away the bitterness!

L - smoked salmon and cream cheese with half an avocado.

D - lamb chops with salad and olive oil and ACV dressing.

I had one small cup of tea this morning because that's the hardest thing to give up! But I'm using my daughter's old, tiny Charlie and Lola mug rather than my huge ones!

Cheese if I'm desperate for a snack.

Howdidthathappen1 · 12/01/2021 08:33

So 1st day of proper practice!
B. 3 egg omelette with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, spinach and feta
L. Cauliflower cheese soup - I've chucked a cauli leaves and all and some white cabbage that was looking sad in stock and will blend with cheddar when done.
D. Some sort of chicken curry that dd is making

I'm looking forward to my appetite reducing which I remember from doing this many moons ago. Atm it takes a lot of food to fill me up!!

StuntNun · 12/01/2021 08:35

I'm not a huge fan of the Teapigs Glühwein tea but I love their chocolate and mint - it's just the thing when you're craving something sweet. Their chamomile tea is rather special as well. I grew chamomile in the garden last year hoping to be able to make tea from it but it didn't flower very well. I did get loads of mint though for fresh mint tea.

plumstone · 12/01/2021 09:27

OMFG!! Just stood on my DF's sparkling high tech scales - 13stones on the nose - Cannot believe this - I have never been this heavy.

Am following bootcamp with renewed vigour - big plus of lockdown is that no-one can see me. However this has got to get fixed. Think the main culprit of the unexpected half stone is the lack of water in my life. Stopped on the 18th December and the only water I consumed for the last three weeks, was a small glass on 25th at lunch!!!!

Back on 4 litres a day - 2 x 2ltr bottle, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Will need to address the meal planning my DF does, he does like pasta and rice, this needs thought!

onward and downward everyone!!

venusandmars · 12/01/2021 10:19

@prettybird my 60th is in July. I've booked a gorgeous house for 12 of us... Fingers crossed 🤞(for being vaccinated, for Nicola giving us some freedom, for sticking to this woe until then!)

athelstane I think that artichokes from a deli are usually above-ground globe artichokes. It's the knobbly underground Jerusalem variety that are fartichokes Grin

B - creamy coffee
L - chicken salad
D - chicken soup, veg Stir fry

Frty · 12/01/2021 11:05

Morning All!

I kind of switched over a few days ago and am finding it remarkably easy so far. Am having a headache atm, so think this is the dreaded keto flue. Have bought some keto sticks and am in moderate ketosis. All very fascinating. I’m finding it all way too easy so far and don’t trust this will work at all!

B- coffee with tiny sploosh of milk, greek yoghurt, nuts and seeds (I know this will be out in bootcamp proper). I microwave frozen berries and add cinnamon. Super yum, I could eat this all day.
L- will be salad with tinned tuna, boiled egg, tomatoes, cucumber and olive oil/ vinegar dressing.
D - Probably some soup

The food is an easy switch for me, my vice was wine so I’m taking this as an opportunity to stay off the booze for a good while.
Happy low- carbing everyone!

BIWI · 12/01/2021 11:11

@crackofdoom - of course you don't have to go on the spreadsheet!

With regard to the tahini, carb counts vary enormously - hence why people would be mocking! But if that's the count that's given on the jar (and I've checked it on Morrisons website then that's what I'd go with. You could, however, always email their customer service department to check? It's not beyond the bounds of possibility that they're wrong. (I know you don't want to know that!)
